EXTENDED SUMMARY—Miranda didn’t know you could get a concussion just from walking into someone. Then again, Spartan John-117 is such a massive mountain of a man, anything is possible. She’s lucky he didn’t accidentally tackle her like she saw him doing some poor marine on Eridanus II. That surely would have ended her. According to the nurse, Master Chief rushed her here himself, and now he has come to visit. Miranda has been waiting years for John to notice her. While she would have taken literally any other means to get his attention, at least she has it now.

Ever since removing his emotional regulator pellet, things are somewhat amplified and John has been distracted. Captain Keyes already ordered him to leave the waiting room. Of course the admiral was livid: John walked into his precious daughter enough to knock her back a few feet (what is she, like, 5’3”? About 120lbs at most?). John should have been paying attention, should have caught and stabilized her. He’s been waiting an hour disobey orders and pay Miranda a visit. At least she’s smiling now, which is good, and pretty to look at. Actually, it’s hard to look away from her which... wasn’t the case before.
AUTHOR’S NOTE—Yes, hello, buenas tardes. I only watched this show because it was on Netflix recently and know nothing else about the universe or how anything in it really works.
What I do know is that I love her big sad eyes and I love his big sad season 1 eyes 🥺 hence this fluffy love story. I loved the scene when he runs into her after learning the truth about being replaced as a child with a genetically compromised flash clone. They remind me of the very first fanfic I wrote and almost didn’t post, in which I had an OC very similar to Miranda fall in love with a military commander, and so this pairing is my jam.

I am finally off maybe the most unhinged and pressure packed deadline of my career, so I'm gonna rewatch The Pitt (because since I'm not stressed anymore, it's time to watch OTHER people be stressed, I guess.)
Anyway, it's gonna be a lot of me being annoyed at Robby and yelling about Samira Mohan and Jack Abbot and how much I adore the other Pittlings, but anyway...here we go...

So much of this first episode is Bad Old Man Writing. Like in what world is a room full of Millennial and Gen Z residents not staring at their attending when they don't understand their screaming patient in a foreign language in disbelief like, "Let's us Google Translate?? Immediately??"
God, Jack Abbot really is That Guy from the second he's on screen right? I wonder what it must be like for NW to be overshadowed by a shorter more charismatic guy on medical drama? Odd specific scenario and weird that it happened twice.
Also hilarious watching Samira flawlessly run the trauma for the "worse" patient when the train "accident" comes in and then get told she doesn't belong in Emergency Medicine because she doesn't meet the one metric that Robby has decided to care about versus all the others. It's astounding to me that she always seems to be *excellent* at her job until suddenly she doesn't need to be For Plot Reasons when that doesn't happen really for any other character? It's extremely annoying.
Javadi's crush on Matteo continues to be one of the more adorable things in both seasons.
I'm being annoying about the show, but also love that they talk us through a cric in episode 1 step by step, including the steps you'd take when you have to do it fast. I'm sure it slides past people the first time they watch it, I know it did for me, but it's really good writing.
God, Cassie's ankle monitor reveal is SO good. I whine about this show a lot but when it's good it's very, very good.
*sigh* I know, I'm sorry, I know people love Mel and Frank, but I get such a sibling vibe from them and I hate to agree with NW on anything, but....anyway...
Samira with her sickle cell patient working at fucking speed and anyway she's the future of fucking medicine and fuck Michael Robinavitch. And she's such a good fucking teacher too with Huckleberry later. I just...UGH I WILL NEVER NOT BE ANNOYED BY THEIR BULLSHIT CHOICES.
Also I am cackling at the Collins/Robby eye contact while Garcia is guiding Santos through the fasciotomy.
I've always said that The Pitt runs because The West Wing walked and talked and one of the main reasons why is it's beautiful thesis on parents and children and the dichotomy of the parents whose child overdosed and the children whose father has Alzheimers is pitch perfect and one of the reasons why this show annoys me when they get lazy with stuff because they can be BRILLIANT.
My other outdoorsy hobby this summer is gardening. I definitely have a green thumb. My plants are thriving! I just harvested so much basil. We have our first bell pepper spouting. The radish will be ready in the next few days. The tomato plant got sooooo big in a matter of weeks. Every time I go to the garden with my lil basket I feel like I just walked off my pinterest board 😭🌱🧚🏽🍄 Also community gardening is so fun like, everyone is so dang nice broooo 🥹 ugh what a VIBE!
I really loved this show Resident Alien, oh my GASH ASTAAAAA!!! My beautiful Ute girl I love youuuuuu! I wish there were more season, Harry truly had me cackling every episode. EVERY SINGLE ONE I am not even joking 😩😂😭💜 going right back to rewatch it. Such a lovely time was had the first time.
