you didn’t expect people to notice the sleepless eyes as quick, as they did.       none the less you still tried to play it off, didn’t sleep enough last night ;    too busy watching old movies you’ve seen too many times, or studying.      the latter would be harder to believe, because you hadn’t picked up a book for school in weeks, if you picked one up at all.        but the lie was still there, because the truth of it all was that you really couldn’t sleep most nights anymore.   stuck in a hurricane of your own creation, without a reason to leave.    it was calm inside, a sickly kind of calm, one where you  knew the danger  but couldn’t move away without coming the other end with a few scratches here and there.          ❝  yeah, i’m ---  it’s the english paper i’m, working on --  it’s nothing.  ❞    you stayed up, much like the night before, imagining a different path the last few weeks could have taken, but imaging it, and it coming true were two far differences.  ❝  it’s due soon, so i’l get a better sleep schedule soon  ❞    the hollow promise left your lips with a subtle nod, as if you wanted to believe it too.        it will get better, soon.
