I got a cheap tripod today. It's a Vanguard from @teds_cameras. I thought I would kick off a black and white photo series, it also keeps me busy while I'm building up some food content. Last night I went to the Firelight Festival. It's on every weekend for a few weeks, but this weekend is free of charge. There's performers(which I missed unfortunately), food, drink, flames to keep you warm and there's also fireworks display. What did you do this weekend? Grey days are never dull in the CBD. Bourke Street is named for Irish-born British army officer Sir Richard Bourke. During the 1850s it gained a reputation as a busy thoroughfare popular as the centre for Saturday nightlife. As retail presence increased the street was often compared to London's Oxford Street. Melbourne felt a little bit hectic this morning in the fog, and it seemed to carry on into work. I think today was the busiest 9am coffee rush I've ever experienced. Melbourne is always busy, but the fog and cooler weather definitely upped the ante today. I took this photo at sunrise on Bourke Street. I've not been well again this week, it's my worst relapse in a while and it's cost me valuable time at work. Melbourne is not a city where you can afford time off. I visited @daintysichuan by @noodlevilla and the lamb pho was really nice. It was made extra special by the smokey chilli pepper that comes with the dish. This was my first time trying Sichuan pho and I was surprised by how clean it tastes. Look at that beautiful colour.
