'고생했어요' vs. '수고했어요'

Two things you will definitely hear a lot from worker to worker is ‘고생했어요’ (go-saeng-haess-eo-yo) and '수고했어요’ (su-go-haess-eo-yo). It’s usually said after work is finished and they both pretty much mean the same thing, literally translating to 'you endured a hard time’. The main difference is '고생했어요’ is used for a harder time than what '수고했어요’ would be used for. If '수고했어요’, for example, is usually said after a regular work day has finished, then '고생했어요’ would be a work day that might’ve been harder than usual.

Throwback Thursday, 28 July 2016. I became volunteer of UN Habitat III Event in Surabaya, Indonesia. It was an amazing experience! I was trying to be Interpreter and, I know now how it feels like 😂 I also accompanied by 2 students from VHS 10 Surabaya whom very kind and welcome me so well. And I met Lourence (from South Korea) and Antonio (from France) as delegation of UN. Thanks for this chance 🙌🙌🙌
