Friday, 8th of July

The last two weeks I have continued to edit and work on my video. We need to have our video done by next term, which means we have our 2 weeks of holidays to work on the video as much or as little as required. We also made our videos on the site wevideo so it is super easy to work on it from home as all the data is there. My video is almost finished, I just need to shorten some shots and add visual effects. Wevideo has been really easy to figure out and use, the layout is really clear and helpful. I have been able to cut shots, zoom in, add titles and add transitions. I have made some of the shots match the music but the music sometimes changes and doesn’t match.

Friday 24th June

Over the last couple of weeks, we have finished filming and started editing our footage for our video. I found it was difficult to get footage with the same camera shots/angles and things happening as what I have in my storyboard, because classes aren’t always doing what you think or want them to. For example, I wanted to get some footage of chemicals for science, but was unable to because the class wasn’t using them, so I only got footage of the class working. I overcame this by going to science club meetings and got some footage of hydrogen balloons being blown up as well as chemicals being set on fire. Science is fun! Other footage I wanted had the same problems, some of which I haven’t been able to solve. I still need to edit all the clips together which I am finding difficult because I don’t have all the footage from other cameras used and I was unable to get some footage that I required from my storyboard.

Friday, 13th

This week in digi we have started our storyboards. I have drawn a few boxes, with notes under explaining what is happening and what angles/shots I will use. I have been drawing with stick figures, because that is about as far as my art ability will go. I have been finding it hard to decide in what order I will put my footage in, but drawing the shots has been mostly good. We need to complete our storyboards within the next few weeks, so we can gather our footage and complete our videos by the deadline.

Friday 6th May

This term we are starting a new unit, where we have to promote our School to potential students. From the brief we know it has to be between 30-60 seconds long, contain music, include text with consistent font and colour, include effects that enhance the visual appeal, be engaging and informative and use our own photos/footage.

For task 1 we had t analyse two videos, a demonstration video and a showcase reel. Then we had to discuss and present in our booklets what makes up a video clip. From this I learnt all the things a good video clip should included.

We then split into groups of 2-3, i went with Brie and Joselyn. We will be collecting our footage in these groups.

For task 2, we had to complete a plan in our booklets about the target audience, aspect of the school we want to show, resources we need, constraints and things to consider. We also completed a sheet on camera shots, angles and movement. This helped us to identify what camera techniques we want to use for our footage.

This is my completed bag.

These are all of my final designs.

My first picture is my drawn paper design, made into a picture using camscanner. For my first design I had to screenshot the text on google docs, then place that image into photoshop. I then added a photo of the lamp, which was white so I had to make it black. That was my first design. For my next design I tried drawing the Lamp and letters using the pen tool. It took a bit of playing round, but I got used to it quickly. I got the lamp done, and the E, which I then had to copy and paste 3 times so I had 4 Es. Then I drew a H and exclamation Point and that design was done! I then also tried doing the same design, but with lower case letters. You’ll see my completed designs in my next post.

Thursday, 24th of March

For the past week or two we have been focusing on developing our logo. So far I have made my concept design, but I still need to improve on this by our due date, in 2 weeks. It was easy for me to get my image into Photoshop so I didn’t have to draw it, but getting the text in was quite difficult as I couldn’t get the specific font I needed in Photoshop so I had to take a screenshot of the writing on docs and use that instead, but this was more difficult to adjust as needed. My Stakeholder suggested I change a section of my image that could be difficult to print, and also suggested to put the logo in a box so it has an frame, which brings the focus in and makes it more effective.

The celebrity I chose is Ryan Higa, known for his popular youtube channel, nigahiga. He makes comedy videos, sketches and vlogs, and he has over 16 million subscribers. My stakeholder is Maisie A. who is a teenage girl who enjoys watching Ryan Higa’s videos. The three fonts she chose that represents his personality best is Fontdiner, Fredoka One, and Orbitron.

Tuesday, 23rd February

The last two days we have used photoshop to change celebrities lip colour, hair colour, get rid of blemishes, etc. I learnt how to use photoshop to do the above things, as i had never used photoshop before that. I completed changing the eye and hair colour of a celebrity which needed to be done today. At first I found it difficult to get used to photoshop and follow the tutorials, but with time and practice I started to figure it out. I was happy with my end result, though it would have been nice to have more time.

For the last few lessons we have been focusing on the principles of elements and design. We had to find definitions of the principles and write them in our own words. I found it hard to rewrite the definitions in my own words but i still finished.
