First Meeting, rough story board, P1

This scene will happen after a a short opening with just Ophelia, but I felt this scene was the most important to start with because it’s literally the start of the whole point of the story. I know the art is rough, but story boards are not the final result. Just trying to give myself an outline of what I’m going to draw. I will make sure the actual in game art looks much better than this.

We open with Liam, the hospital director and Ophelia’s arranged fiancé, showing Ophelia around the hospital, despite it once belonging to her grandfather. She had walked around it before, but does discover there is one ward she has never entered before.

The forensic ward, for the most dangerous, criminally insane patients. There is only one patient there at the time.

And Ophelia has been assigned to be this patients nurse; Liam noting her success at a clinic she used to intern at with difficult cases. This rubs salt in the wound, as Ophelia was forced to intern there by her mother, while Liam got to be director of her grandfathers hospital right after graduation. Not to mention the cases she helped in, they were people with acute trauma, not someone violent and criminally insane.

If any of you would be interested in creating or bringing to life a cool animatic concept I've created revolving around the game TFC, aka The Freak Circus (of horrors), then please take a peak!

I've grew a habit of listening to music and creating a little animation in my head of characters to the music. I would animate them myself, but because I'm not experienced in that area and would most likely lose motivation, I usually don't bring it to life. But then I felt bad because I really wanted to share it with you all. So, if you're interested, there's no time limit or anything, it's just a little project, but I've already created a written out storyboard. Stayed up from 2-5am thinking and then creating this! Credit for the idea is mine and is original. Leaving animation in anyone's hands, I just wish to share my ideas!

Game: The Freak Circus by Neko.

(a haunting lullaby melody that reminds me of the freak circus of horrors and how it's a horror psychological and yandere visual novel game.)

"Parden the intrusion I just, couldn't help myself tonight cause, you got me feeling all worked up."

-Pierrot basically breaking into MCs home while they're asleep (he does this canonically in game) and lip syncing these lyrics. It's on day 1 on the game where nightfalls and he enters MC's room, talking to them while they slept. And he did seem worked up, because he fell in love due to their unexpected kindness when he expected all humans to be mean and cruel. -

"I hope this isn't much of a fright it.. also caught me by surprise this.. almost unnatural kind of love, oh"

Pierrot still talking to MC in their sleep. Mentioning how him falling for them is surprising and how its unnatural how it happened and different from what he often expected.-

"Baby I want you, need you, crave you, fill my heart up with nothing else but you.."

-Pierrot starting to become obsessive and expressing his love to the sleeping MC.

"Baby I hear you, see you, feel you, only you, only you, only you.."

flash back to when MC helped Pierrot, how he heard them speak up for him, how he saw the expression on thsir face as they stood between him and the man who punched him, and the touch of their hand when they helped him up. Showing he noticed the smallest of details as soon as it happens and how he immediately falls in love.-

"Only you."

-the deep only you before the interlude, just shows that in that moment is when it set in where he knew he was obsessed with MC-

~Interlude~ Only you.. ~Interlude~

-I'd say this shows when Pierrot starts to actively stalk MC.

"I'll give you my all, a heart that bleeds, the blood that falls.."

Pierrot talking to MC at their job at the cafe. When they turn their back, it's like he's speaking his desires while they're not looking, saying he'll give them his all, a heart that bleeds, and the blood that falls. Except the last part, is when that one rude lady comes into the cafe, and is rude to MC. That last part I'd turn it into showing Pierrot glaring at the woman. Wanting to make blood fall just because the lady was rude.-

"Devine be the call, to feel the touch, so celestial.."

-Pierrot behind the scenes after leaving the Cafe, kidnaps the rude woman and thinking it'd make MC happy, or like he's hoping for the touch of affirmation, or acception from MC for making the "Devine call" if I got that part right.-

"Because your love, your love enraptures body, mind, and soul.."

-the scene moves to when MC visits the circus and goes to Pierrot's show, and he's already noticing MC in the crowd. The mean lady is tied to a board as Pierrot get ready to throw his knives at her. But his focus is in pleasing MC. Believing it'd make them love him once they see what he's done for them. Also why their love enraptures his body mind and soul.-

"My God, My God, bow to the I've become whole.."

-Same scene, but shifting towards after he kills the lady, and he bows not necessarily towards the crowd but towards MC. As if it were meant for them. MC notices, but runs out of the tent feeling nauseous from the sight. Pierrot rushes out of the tent in search of them.

"I want you, need you, crave you, fill my heart up with nothing else but you.."

-Pierrot catching up to MC and trying to calm them of sorts, talk to them, and somewhat confess. Yet scared they might run away he's careful, the obsessive tension dimmed slightly for MC's sake. (The lines are also noticeably softer, yet still certain)

"Baby I hear you, see you, feel you, only you, only you, only you.."

-Assuming MC eats one of the foods that was "drugged" that day, Pierrot starts to also notice how it affects them. Hears their breathing hitch and become softer, sees the dazed flush look upon their face, feel their body warm yet slowly becoming pliant as he holds them closer gently. And he gets that obsessive look again as he carries them to his tent.

"Baby I'd lie for you, cry for you, die for you, I am only yours, given life anew.."

-This scene switches to day 2 where MC is chained in a bed by Pierrot within his tent. (Nothing bad happened!) And it's basically the scene where MC is awake, panicked and upset. But Pierrot is trying to be cautious, yet repeating his devoted love for MC. Scared to lose them but not wanting to hurt them.

"Baby I love you, love you, love you, love you, love you, only you."

-skip to a scene where Pierrot has snuck into MC home after returning from the circus. But it's the scene where MC and Pierrot are in bed cuddling of sorts. While he falls more intensively in love with MC. Same obsessed and blissed expression on his face.

I assume this would be an interlude, just with repeated "Only you" being sung and also in the background sound. Just make this scene however you'd picture it, it can even be a recap of previous scenes.

"My love, my love, we'll meet again beyond the moon.."

-This scene is an imagination Pierrot is having. Of basically him and MC being together, like even in death he believes they'll be together forever.

"My love, my love, I belong to.. belong to only.. you."

-OKAY, THIS SCENE CAN GO BOTH WAYS!

1: make it keep going on track with the obsession. And ending it however you can picture it.

2: make it angst! Where his love becomes to obsessive to the point where Either he himself mistakenly devours/kills MC.

Branch: Maybe another circus member kills MC and he walks in on it. (Like harlequin possibly..)

Branch: MC commits suicide, overwhelmed by Pierrot's love.

(I'm such a fan of angst bro..)

BUT YEAH THATS THE END OF MY UH THINGY, IDK WHAT ITS CALLED WHEN I CREATE STUFF LIKE THIS IN MY HEAD.

Heya! I absolutely adore your work, your silly cartoon style is awesome :D I do have some storyboarded questions if you don’t mind/can answer (might be a lot sorry)

1: How did you get your job as a storyboard artist?

2: How does working as a storyboard artist work in a project? As in how do you manage, what are the hours like, how many breaks do you get, and how many frame do you have to get through in a day?

3: Not so much story board related but do you have any tips for drawing such dynamic and fun poses? I love the way you express each character you draw differently with body language :)

4: Do you just draw colorful stick figures sometimes if you run out of time so that people can still tell who is who on the board? (Example: Mr. Puzzles is walking in a side scroll scene. Would he just be a green stick figure if that’s his story board color)

I've been storyboarding since mid teens, just making silly videos and animatics. I somehow got an internship at Magnetic Dreams Animation after showing off some of my art at a small talent show and getting spotted by a director. After college I ended up working contract there until ZAM snagged me! (i am self trained and literally networking is how I got into this...and the ZAMs didnt even know i storyboarded until i happened to mention it in a convo like 3 months before they hired me lmao because i forgot to tell them my actual art profession) 2. I get like 40 hours a week to make my boards happen! I don't always work all 40, sometimes my hands demand rest and I listen lol I can have as many breaks as I like as well on contract. Sometimes I take lunch, sometimes I work straight through from 5-6 a.m. to 2 p.m. and sometimes I work weird hours like 8-11 pm. As long as you get your work done it doesn't matter. I love making my own hours! (as a side note, always rest your hand 10 mins per hour) 3. GESTURE SKETCHING. start every day gesture sketching. 4. AND YES! when im 'blocking' my boards (basically just trying to get something quickly down at first to show a vision of what im thinking composition wise, I usually draw the characters as colorful stick character blobs to show their position/posing within that composition. If the comp is approved I clean it up/add details/add more poses and frames/ect BEST OF LUCK TO YOU ON YOUR JOURNEY!! Its a tough one to get into, but so worth it (at least to me). Nothing you make gets shown in the final product, but what you do literally is the groundwork and affects all other stages of production. Thanks for the questions!
