📢Adressing some concerns about our donation 📢

Hello everyone, we apologize for the sudden announcement - We have recently been messaged about an accusation of forgery in our announcement of donation and we would like to clarify the situation for our followers and supporters, to make sure we can finish this project with all the transparency we can achieve.

Our original donation post contained a cropped image of the donation receipt that was received by our Finance Mod, Xander, after the donation was made to our chosen charity, Action Against Hunger, in November 21st, 2023.

Here is the full image of that receipt, received by email, which, of course, has had some info redacted to protect the personal information of our mod:

As you can see, the amount donated matches the one in our original post, as does part of the text - the other part which was cropped was simply added to include a thanks to "The Fannibal Family".

In one message addressed to us, it was mentioned that the message of this email, as of December 24th, had some alterations in text, which we unfortunately cannot confirm - However: Since November 28th (that we can confirm), Action Against Hunger has been promoting a campaign to match donations made by doubling, tripling, and eventually quadrupling them in an effort to raise more money for their cause.

As you can see, the earliest record of this campaign we can find has started (Nov 28th) after our donation had already been made (Nov 21st), since no mention of it is made on the message we received back on the email receipt, but, in an effort to showcase the message in the original receipt has not been altered, we have an extra receipt as of today, December 31st, in which a donation was made DURING the 4x matching campaign by AAH, in which you can see the receipt message does mention the donation made is included in the campaign:

Hopefully, this clarifies some of the issues and doubts some of our followers might have have concerning the legitimacy of our donation.

We apologize in case any confusion or concern was created thanks to the original post, and if any delay in our response seemed strange - thanks to the holiday season, our communication lines have been a little slow, but as always, we are here to address questions and concerns with as much transparency and honesty we can provide.

📢 Additional Clarifications 📢

A few other points have been brought up concerning the proof presented of our donation, both on tumblr and twitter, and for the sake of keeping all information available on both platforms, we are publishing here all additional information already presented on our twitter account about the further questions we received about our post.

As additional proof regarding the start of the matching campaign date (Nov 28th), a whole week after our donation (Nov 21st), here is a screenshot of the official AAH twitter account, where the one of the announcements of the campaign was made:

As well as proof of communication between our finance mod and the AAH informative email team ever since our donation date, Nov 21st:

And since it has been pointed out the text message in the thank-you email of our donation was seemingly outdated, we contacted AAH's donor services directly to request a) a second copy of our receipt, to confirm it indeed had an outdated piece of information and b) asked for further clarification on why this message could have been outdated in the first place. Here is proof of these inquiries we made (one sent directly via email, another via AAH USA's contact form):

On January 5th, this is the copy of the receipt we received back, with updated text. No mention of this alteration was made by the Gift Processing Associate who replied to us with this receipt:

Unfortunately, as our inquiry of WHY we had an email with an outdated message in the first place was received AFTER by the AAH donor team, they could not inform us why we had an outdated copy in our first receipt to begin with, as they had already updated our receipt and donation information from the previous email:

As you can see, both our inquiries were made on January 1st of 2024 - our updated receipt was sent back on January 5th, and our reply to our question of why the original message was outdated was only replied to on Jan 8th, and by then, they no longer had our old receipt and therefore did not answer our questions about the outdated first message.

Being so, we apologize we cannot confirm at what point there was an error in the outdated message originally sent to us in our first receipt, but our direct communication with AAH has yielded no answers, so we cannot provide any more details on this issue.

All the screenshots provided in this addition and all email communications between AAH and us were not made by our finance mod, to clarify - another mod, with the finance mod's permission, contacted AAH directly and received all proof here presented as a separate party, and can confirm none of these screenshots, not of email communications or receipts, have been altered.

As final proof presented directly by our finance mod, seeing as we cannot confirm the issue with our original receipt, but still with intent of confirming the date of our donation: Our finance mod received a letter on the mail from AAH thanks to the amount of our donation, which can be read in full below, containing date, total donated, and signature from AAH:

This is the full extent of all proof we have already provided and can provide concerning the accusations made against us. Unfortunately, we cannot take responsibility for a possible error in our original receipt if it indeed we received an outdated message, as it seems there is some variety in the messages that are sent out to donors when a donation is placed. If the donor services of AAH did not alert us after we pointed out there might have been a mistake in the first written message, we have no choice but to not pursue this further, as this has been considered a non-issue by AAH itself.
