The thing I hate most about you fat feminist types is the fact that you are so vain and only care about how you feel. I see it constantly in your posts; you talk about how people need to change to please you and how you should break off content with anything that makes you unhappy. The world doesn't revolve around you, and you are a terrible example to today's youth. Take care of yourself, obesity kills 112,000 people a year. It's not fat shaming; it's facts.
No, it is shaming. Ā Itās fat shaming to think that a person has to earn basic human decency and respect by being a certain size. Ā If byĀ āneeding to changeā you mean treating fat people like weāre actually people, then YES, people DO need to change. Ā Health is not a determiner of worth or how you should treat someone. Ā You wanna know something thatās really fucked up? Ā The kind of people who believe that if the are not attracted to someone - that those people should hate themselves and that they deserve the bullying/harassment that they receive. Ā That if you deem someone unhealthy just by looking at them (which is a whole other topic in and of itself), that they somehow deserve to be questioned and kicked until they change themselves for you.You people act as though fat folk are expecting to be worshipped and held on a pedestal. Ā NO. Ā Weāre simply seeking to not be treated as sub human. Ā Weāre seeking representation, weāre seeking fair treatment. Ā If someone needs to change themselves in order to not be a bigoted asshat, then thatās not a problem within myself. Ā Thatās something that people should strive to be regardless. Ā And no, I tell people that they should break away from things that are toxic and detrimental to their mental health. Ā Oh, Iām a terrible example for todayās youth. Ā Why is that? Ā Because I believe in equality? Ā Because I believe in being kind to others? Ā Is it because I refuse to hate myself in the body that Iām in? Ā Letās talk about the people who are racist as fuck, who use slurs, who harrass their peers, who believe that they are worthy of things over other people, who believe that everyone has to adhere to their standards or theyāre deserving of ridicule. Ā How about the people who believe that all Muslims are terrorists? Ā Letās talk about the guys who sexually harass women via messaging and then call them ungrateful bitches when theyāre not given the response they want. Ā Maybe the people who feel so entitled to things/women that they end up shooting up places because of it. Letās discuss the rampant misogyny, ableism, racism, transphobia, homophobia, classism, fatphobia, etc of our society that believes they are somehow better than other people. Ā Youāre not going to convince me that Iām a bad example for kids. Ā I am exactly the kind of person I wish I knew when I was younger. Ā I have found purpose in trying to better the world via doing what I can to make it a safer space for those who are under represented and left out. Ā To those who feel alone, targeted, and helpless. Ā I am an amazing person, but I also donāt believe that I am better than other people. Ā I donāt believe that I have the right to tear down other people based on minuscule things. Ā I believe in letting people live their lives as they please as long as itās not hurting others. Ā I love myself so wholeheartedly and thatās exactly what I strive to share with other people. Ā And you know what? Ā Itās not because of what I look like. Ā Itās because I know, full stop, that regardless of what my physical appearance is..I still have worth. Ā That that is not what determines what kind of person I am, how I treat other people, or what I am putting into the world. Ā I have this kind of love and self assurance because I know that I am actively trying to spread light where I can. Ā And you know what? Ā I care a fuck ton more about how I make other people feel and how I am effecting the world/others than I do about whether or not I am physically healthy. Ā When the day comes that I do end up with health problems (which is going to happen inevitably whether or not I stay the size I am), I will know that it does not deplete from the things that actually matter to me.I care more about being a good person than I do about being your version of aĀ āhealthyā person.
