This Day on August 8, 1992 James suffered severe second- and third-degree burns during a massive co-headlining stadium tour stop with Guns N' Roses at Montreal's Olympic Stadium. Accidentally stepping onto a live pyrotechnic charge during "Fade to Black," a 12-foot flame blast severely scorched his left hand, arm, and face.
