The Originals Legacy Challenge
Hey guys, I’m a big fan of The Originals and legacy challenges so I thought why not combine both? This legacy challenge has more to do with storytelling, which is one of my favorite things when playing the Sims 4! There’s also aspects of the game that you may not usually be used to playing with. Just a disclaimer, this legacy challenge uses a lot of the game pack content of Realm of Magic and Vampires! This is a 12 generation legacy!
This is supposed to be fun so if you want to change anything about this legacy challenge, you can!
Each generation is based on each of the main characters of The Originals, besides Hope Mikaelson, just because I would also love to make a Legacies legacy challenge at some point!
I’m currently playing through each of the generations, which I will be posting on my tumblr @happysimmer, there may be some changes to the rules as I play through them!
The basic rules are just like the other legacy challenges but I’ll still mention:
Money cheats can be used, but not excessively. Suggestion: use freerealestate for your first home, but no cheats afterward; cheats can also be used for storytelling purposes!
You may live wherever you please unless something is specified in the rules of a generation.
Keep the lifespan normal.
Complete all of the goals of each generation to fully complete the gen!
For careers, it’s up to you if you would like to max the career!

Generation One: Kol Mikaelson
“The best people are black sheep.”
You always felt left out by your family. You’ve always felt like a black sheep. Once you were able to leave your family home, you did. You’ve always wanted to experience a life of wildness and of traveling around the world. You spend your young adult years traveling to all of the worlds and falling in love with anyone you meet. After travelling and meeting all of the wonderful people, you find your true love in Glimmerbrook. You’ve never felt like this before and are so excited for this new adventure!
Traits: Adventurous, Romantic, Erratic
Complete the serial romantic aspiration during your young adulthood
No career, make money other ways!
Max charisma and mischief skills.
Travel to each world at least once
Have a relationship with at least one person from each world! (at least good friends)
Capture moments by taking photos of different things and different people -- showcase these photos in your home
Write a novel from your adventures from each world.
When traveling to Glimmerbrook, they learn more about witchcraft and they realize how much they enjoy the idea of magic and spellcasters!
Fall in love as an adult with your one true love (has to be a spellcaster)
Have at least 2 kids once an adult
Generation Two: Davina Claire
“I'm not that girl anymore. I don't run from anyone.”
Your parents had a lot of enemies in their time. Could be because one parent is a powerful spellcaster and the other parent is considered a playboy/girl. Either way, your parents kept you away from the outside world, wanting to protect you. Your sibling(s) immediately took into their power and started training at a young age. You? You kept it hidden, you just want to be normal, until you can’t pretend anymore and you rebel. Later in your life, you realize that you’re more powerful than you have ever known. You become less afraid of the enemies and make sure that they are more afraid of you.
Traits: Art lover, Hot-headed, Loner
Aspiration: Spellcraft and Sorcery
Max piano skills, painting skill, medium skill (to help you speak with the ancestors!)
No specific career, can make money through any other way!
Be born a spellcaster but don’t use your powers until young adulthood.
Make a best friend who’s also an outcast; protect each other
Growing up, you keep to yourself and are a loner but once you rebel, you start breaking rules and tapping into to your own power
Learn all mischief spells during young adulthood
Learn all untamed spells during young adulthood
Make at least one enemy during your young adulthood
Become the highest ranking spellcaster
Have a child during young adulthood and give this child away to one of the siblings to raise and protect them from the mischief magic
Have at least 2 more kids during adulthood and move away from Glimmerbrook to keep your family safe from the enemies you’ve made.
Start practical magic once starting a family and settling down.
Generation Three: Freya Mikaelson
“My family's about to be pulled apart and there's literally nothing I can do about it. I'm supposed to be the big sister that could fix everything.”
You were given away once you were born and raised by your aunt/uncle. You were raised knowing that your parents abandoned you to your adoptive parents. You were thankful for your parents for watching over you and believing in your dreams and aspirations. You’ve always wanted to be an actress; just to be someone else for a little while. You spend your time at the bar to cope with all of your problems in your free time. You don’t find out that your cousins are your siblings and that you were actually raised by your aunt/uncle until your young adulthood. Once you realize the truth, you try to rekindle your relationship with your siblings. They become the most important people to you and you want to do everything to protect them, as their older sibling. Once you rekindle your relationship with your family, you are finally ready to fall in love and settle down.

Generation Four: Vincent Griffith
“Maybe death does something to us. Twists us all up into something ugly.”
Growing up, you’ve always been clingy and attached to your parents. You loved listening to stories that they’ve experienced in their lives. Your parents become the most important people to you… Even in death. Your parents both pass away in a horrible accident when you’re only a teenager. The loss you felt is indescribable and you vow to do all of the things that your family has always wanted to accomplish. As you start looking back to your family’s history, you start to learn more about the secrets your parents had hid from you all of this time. You start to learn about your heritage in the sorcerer world. You become passionate about learning more about witchcraft and spend your time protecting spellcasters. As an author, you start to write “fantasy” novels about spellcasters and the adventures that you learn about during your research. This new world consumes your life and you spend less time with your own children and spouse.
Traits: Gloomy, Self-Absorbed, and Erratic
Aspiration: Bestselling Author
Career: Writer -- Journalist Branch
Max Writing, Research and Debate, and Medium skills (to better your knowledge about the ancestors)
Have parents die as a teen
Spend most of your teen years reading and writing books
As a young adult, read all of the books about spellcasters and sorcery
Own your own library -- where you do most of your works
Travel the spellcaster world at least once a week -- learn about witches and get to know their stories
Write a new story about spellcasters every time you visit the world based on a spellcaster
Fall in love with a spellcaster
Have at least 2 kids
Spouse loves how passionate you are about their kind but wishes you were more involved with your children
Spouse divorces you and takes the kids with them during late adulthood
Write the book of life for each one of your children and gift it to them -- even though you’re not actively in their lives, you want to protect them
Generation Five: Marcel Gerard
"Let's make one thing clear, you'll never have this - loyalty. You can't buy it, you can't own it, you can't force it, it comes only out of love and respect for the people who believe in you."
Growing up, you were basically raised by one parent and neglected by the other. Because of this, you spent your young teen years, rebelling, sneaking out and heading to the bar. You have a bad relationship with the parent who stayed, just because in your mind, you believe that they are the reason that your other parent wasn’t there for you. During your young adulthood, there’s a terrible accident and you pass away. You remember the book that your mother/father gave you and it saves your life. After that traumatic experience, you never want to experience that again. You seek the help of a vampire who gives you eternal life. You leave your old life behind and find a new family, new friends, who are just like you. You become the leader of the vampire tribe and you are trusted and respected by many. You rekindle a relationship that you had forgotten about in this new life. You fall in love and start a family. Your spouse doesn’t want to become a vampire but you can’t imagine going back. You watch the love of your life pass away and it’s a loss that will stick with you forever.

Aspiration: Party Animal

Career: Own a bar/restaurant for vampires and other supernatural beings
Have a bad relationship with both parents
Always read the book of life that was gifted to you by your parent

As a young adult, get into an accident (maybe because of drinking??) and die

Once a vampire, break up current relationship and move town
Start a club with fellow vampires and become the leader that is respected by all
Spend all of young adulthood, partying and meeting new people
Adopt a child who you find being in danger
During adulthood, rekindle with high school sweetheart
Marry high school sweetheart, who loves you no matter what has happened to you since you’ve last seen each other
Have at least two more children with your high school sweetheart
Try to convince your high school sweetheart to become a vampire but once they say no, respect their decision and live the rest of their lives as happy as possible together
Generation Six: Josh Rosza
“Who has two thumbs and drinks blood to stay alive? Oh right, this guy!”
You grew up feeling and being different from your sibling(s). Your sibling(s) were tuned to their vampire abilities immediately growing up, while you struggled more. During your teen years, you aren’t as confident in your abilities and in yourself. You have a hard time figuring out who you are. Once you realize your sexuality, you start to become more confident. Turns out, you’re just a sarcastic queer kid who loves partying and is less worried about being the most powerful vampire, like the rest of your family. You become best friends with a spellcaster, you can both relate to feeling different to everyone else. You’re a loyal, fun-loving and hilarious best friend that everyone loves and connects with the first moment that you meet them. You find the love of your life in a club and they are the complete opposite of you, they are more gloomy and hot headed; but somehow, you’re the only one that can bring a smile to their face.
Traits: Goofball, Outgoing, Vegetarian
Aspiration: Friend of the World
Career: Entertainer -- Comedian Branch

Be born a vampire
All of your sibling(s) are close to each other and to your parents but you’re more of the outcast growing up (playing on your own)

In high school, meet a spellcaster and become best friends
Spend your time telling jokes and trying to bring light to everyone else around you
Only drink from plasma fruit; not from humans (humans are your friends, not food!)
Meet your soulmate at a club; has to have the gloomy and hot headed trait
Either adopt or have a baby through IVF/surrogate (w/ mod) -- but all children must be born a vampire or be a vampire (can cheat for this)
Raise your children in a fun, loving home
All of your children must have at least one negative trait
Throw a social event at least once a week
Accept every outing
Generation Seven: Finn Mikaelson
“Every time I close my eyes... I go back to that black horizon. That place where I was abandoned and forgotten, by my own family. So yeah, I came out mad, and I remain so.”
You’ve always been different from your fun-loving, vampire-loving family; and you’ve resented them for it. You’ve kept to yourself and loved a calm and almost a “gray” life, if you will. You hate everything about your vampire side and you hate your siblings for willingly wanting to be a vampire. You’ve watched the rest of your family have this special bond with each other and you’ve always been left behind. You have a bad relationship with all of your family members. One day, you end up meeting another vampire, who changes the way you think about that side of you. They help you realize that a lot of good can be done and it’s not just all evil. Once you settle down, you rekindle your relationship with your siblings and parents, even though you fully still don’t understand their way of life.
Traits: Snob, Loner, Proper
Aspiration: Inner Peace
Career: Business (any branch)
Max Logic, Piano, and Wellness skills
Be born a vampire
Always be excluded by the rest of the family and keep to yourself while growing up
Try to live a normal life as much as possible

Generation Eight: Klaus Mikaelson
“"If by Hell you mean somewhere you are betrayed by those you hold most dear, then it's from Hell I've just come."
You’ve always been intrigued by your vampire side, unlike your sibling(s), although it was resented by your parents. While they told you to live a normal life, you spent your time reading about vampire lore and aspiring to be the most powerful being in all of the sims worlds. Once your parents find out about your nights out, hunting humans, they immediately turn you away and kick you out of the house. You resent them for treating you that way, family is supposed to be for forever. Once you start looking back on your family history, you find out that you have a different parent than your sibling(s). You feel betrayed and hurt by the people who are supposed to be your family. You become a chaotic spirit and go out to meet new people, feed from new people, just because you have a lowkey fear of being alone. You meet a human, who is the purest and kindest being. They are there for you through all of your havoc. After a crazy night out, you hook up with this sim and a child is born. Everyone around you doubted that you would be a good parent but you love this little being more than anything and your partner believes in you just as much. Once your child is born, you become less reckless and selfish; you will do anything to protect your family.

Aspiration: Master Vampire AND/OR Public Enemy
Career: Criminal -- Boss branch

Become best friends with this human sim and you tend to vent to them

Generation Nine: Elijah Mikaelson
“The road to redemption is long and winding, but worthy.”
You were loved and cared for deeply by your parents. You were always taught to be whoever you are and never be ashamed of it. You’ve always taken from your human side of the family, always being honorable, compassionate and empathetic but you still have taken some traits from your vampire side, unpredictable, overprotective, and stubborn. You hear from your other vampires the legacy that has been left from your vampire parent. You don’t want the actions of your parents before they had you to affect your family’s legacy. You want to show everyone that you can be a vampire and be kind as well. You aspire to be a good vampire. Although you always try to be the most generous and the most honorable, you find yourself falling in love with your sibling's significant other.

Career: Civil Designer OR Conservalist

After your sibling and significant other have an argument, comfort the significant other and have a one night stand and get pregnant
You decide where the relationship goes -- it could be a one time event that is kept as a secret or you could let it come out and let it affect the relationship you have with the significant other and your sibling (Depends on how much drama you’re looking for!)
Generation Ten: Hayley Marshall
“The truth is that my husband died because he loved me, and loving any of us is a death sentence, isn’t it?”
You were raised in a broken home with amazing and powerful parents, who did everything they could do to give you a good life. Though this is true, the legacy that your ancestors have created for you have affected even you, in present time. You’ve still got generations of enemies that only want to ruin your family before your family can ruin them. During your teen years, you fall in love with your soulmate. You marry in early young adulthood and you can’t believe how happy you are. As soon as your child is born, your husband is killed by one of your grandfather/mother’s enemies. You’ve never felt this much pain before. You become ruthless and cold. Your husband’s sibling starts becoming more present in your life and in your child’s life; helping you raise them. You’re thankful for them but want to erase your family’s legacy and all of the pain that it has given you. You find your own pack among your peers and they become your family. Your number one thing in life is giving your children the best possible life and protecting them at all costs.

Generation Eleven: Rebekah Mikaelson
“Being a human means a fresh start. I can grow old and have a family and fill my days with meaning, knowing that each one matters."
Growing up, you’ve always been a hopeless romantic. How can you not be when your parents have told you all of the stories of them falling in love? After the loss of one of your parents, you become extremely dependent on your old sibling. You fear being alone and you long to have a normal teenage life. But how could you? When the legacy created before you has altered everything about your life? All you’ve ever wished for is finding your soulmate and having the most perfect family. In your young adulthood, your sibling passes away, leaving behind a child. You feel this loss more than anything and become impulsive in your nature; not trusting anyone or anything anymore. You take in their child, seeing yourself in them; feeling their loss and pain. You find the love of your life, in your late young adulthood and you finally feel trust and love. You wish to grow old with your partner, so you take the cure to raise your family in the “normal” way you’ve always wanted.

Generation Twelve: Camille O’Connor

You had a great relationship with your parents. They loved you unconditionally and always supported everything you are. They never shone away from the stories of the legacy behind you. Although there was a lot of darkness, you always found the good in the stories, the redemption stories of each of your ancestors. It’s something that you bring with you as you get older and meet new people. You find yourself falling in love with the wrong people, always trying to fix them. You never lose your shine but it hurts, every time they let you down. You focus your time on your career, you love children and become an educator. You spend your free time writing the “Mikaelson” novels, based on each of your ancestors. There’s something to learn in each of the stories and you want to show everyone these lessons. You’re a light in everyone’s life and in your adulthood, you finally find someone who sees that and loves that about you, instead of taking advantage of you.
