After the initial frenzy, time slowed. Everything was soft kisses and gentle caresses. Azriel worked slowly, thoroughly, down Elain's jaw and throat, covering her with hot, open-mouthed kisses. His hands has a mind of their own, one moment tangled in her hair, then the next stroking down her waist and lightly gripping her hips. And his shadows, his shadows worked hard to display every desire he worked hard on keeping in check. They swirled around the room, nipping at Elain playfully.
When it seemed that he had kissed ever unclothed part of her, he peeled himself off of her, content to let the moment be over and let her sleep if that was her wish. When he was far enough away to see her face, he nearly dove right back in and kissed her more; her eyes were closed, bottom lip cinched between her teeth, a look of peace covered her face.
When she realized that he was staring at her, she opened her eyes slowly, "Why'd you stop?" There was unease in her tone. Had she done something wrong?
His face heated, "I believe that I've exhausted all the available kissing space." He gestured to her lavender robe and nightgown.
"Oh," she looked thoughtful and her cheeks flushed at what he was implying.
When she did not say anything else, Azriel pulled back further, "wait," he stilled.
She moved slowly, staring into his handsome eyes, and gently slid the robe off her shoulders.
Ever Shadow stilled. Every ounce of Azriel's preditory focus was on Elain.
Next, she slid the thin straps of her nightgown off, allowing the silk material to flow down her chest and pool at her waist.
Azriel inhaled a long, shaking breath, his eyes lingering on her bare chest. "Elain.."
"Keep going," she laid back down, "please,"
Her eyes were wide as he came to hover over her once again, “As you wish,” his warm breath against her ear made her shiver.
Azriel would never get enough. Of her creamy skin, flush with desire. Of her gentle, pleading words. Of her soft touches and sweet moans. Of her; never enough of her.
His lips ghosted over her breasts, sending sparks of fire through her veins. Her chest heaved under his ministrations. Alway careful, always cunning, this shadowsinger seemed to know exactly the right ways to ruin her. She felt heavy and light all at once, her pink nipples tightening between his teeth, “Az…” He licked a stripe in that place between her breasts, making her gasp.
“Mmh?” he didn’t stop, just kept kissing lower.
He was nearing her waistline, soon he would have to pull her nightgown further down her quivering body, and she couldn’t form words any longer. She brought her hand up to his inky hair, weaving her fingers through it; urging him to travel lower.
Before he could go any further, he looked up at her once again, his eyes hooded with something akin to lust, but still kind and concerned for her, “Elain…” he had her rumpled nightgown clenched in his fists, ready to tug it from her hips, “You’ve never done-”
He stopped when he felt her tense, It was all the answer he needed. He gently brushed a strand of honey hair behind her ear, “It may be...unpleasant for a moment.”
She nodded, slowly. She hadn’t been nervous until now. She wondered how much experience he had, she could imagine how many lovers he’d taken in his five hundred years. She thought, for a moment, about changing her mind, knowing he would stop without argument or question. But, then she looked into his hazel eyes and knew that she wanted him more than anything in the world. Her Azriel. She smiled, eyes twinkling in the firelight, “I want you, Azriel, I want you,” only a gentle whisper as her lithe fingers danced up his tan arms.
He pulled her nightgown the rest of the way down her body, sliping it past her ankles; she wore nothing beneath.
Without any prodding from him, Elain opened her legs, allowing him an unobstructed view of her glistening womanhood.
Had Azriel been standing, he would have collapsed to his knees at the sight of her opening for him. His eyes darkened as he crawled over her once again. He kissed her soundly on the mouth.
“What about you?” she questioned, meekly pulling on his tunic.
He chuckled, “Not yet, Love. You won’t get off that easy.”
He crawled down her body until his head was between her legs.
“What are you—Oh” his lips found a special spot Elain didn’t even know she had. Azriel grinned as she reflexively clamped her legs together, all at once gerking away from his mouth. He only used a muscled arm to hold her in place, “Stay still,” he warned against her, sending vibrations through her body.
Oh, but she couldn’t be still, not even for a moment. It was bliss, under his tongue. She couldn’t draw a full breath or keep her weary body from trembling. Azriel’s massive hand pinned her to the bed, there was no escaping this fresh torture.
His free hand found her entrance, and two calloused fingers entered her, and Azriel winced at how tight she was around just his fingers.
And Elain, oh Elain, was writhing beneath him as he curled those fingers deep inside her. She was dripping as his tongue circled the jewel between her thighs, he gently nipped at it with his teeth and she screamed his name.
Azriel knew her climax was breaking before she did.
She was sure she couldn’t take one more second of his mouth on her throbbing heat, she bucked her hips, struggling to regain control, her hands pushing against his shoulder.
Azriel didn’t budge for a second. Before she knew what was happening, a pair of shadows circled her wrists pinning them above her head, “Please,” was all she could manage.
Azriel’s eyes flicked to hers not once breaking contact with her core, her mouth hung open and her eyes flew shut after a moment.
Every muscle in her body tightened.
Elain shattered. It seemed as if every fiber of her being split under his hands, his tongue. She couldn’t suppress the moans which escaped her lips as she pulled desperately against the shadows holding her in place. He didn’t stop until she had come down completely from the high that overtook her.
Her head rolled to the side as the shadows released her wrists and Azriel’s fingers slid out of her. Her breath came in short gasps, eyelids fluttering closed.
“You did so well, my love.” he stroked her thigh with one hand, the other worked the buttons on his shirt, “So, so well.” He let her catch her breath. Let himself breathe. Her taste, her sent, the feeling of her walls clenching around his fingers, made him light headed. He hoped more than anything that the climax would ready her for his size. He would never forgive himself if he caused her any pain.
He was pulled out of his own mind when her hand rested gently on his thigh.
“We can still stop anytime,” he whispered.
She carefully sat up reaching to unclasp the final button of his shirt, her lips brushing his jaw, “take me, Azriel,” her other hand caressed that damned vein on his wing.
The war in Azriel’s mind quieted when she breathed his name. He softly cupped the back of her neck with his hand and guided her onto her side. He slid off the remainder of his clothing and laid down beside her. His length was hard, and Elain could not look away, he was much bigger than the two fingers that had filled her a moment before.
“Eyes up here, love.” he smiled devilishly.
He took her in his arms, holding her impossibly close. They were still for a moment, chest to chest, hands in eachothers hair, brushing noses, heaving breaths.
Then Azriel slowly shifted Elain’s leg over his own, allowing himself access to her entrance. “Is this alright?” he waited.
She sucked in a breath, readying herself, “Just, start slow, please.”
He nodded, letting his lips brush hers in a tender kiss, he held her tightly to him as he entered her slow, slow, slow.
She made a pained squeak, eyes wincing closed, “Don’t move,” she gasped.
He hated the way her face screwed up in pain, He draped his wing over her, cocooning the two of them. When she gave the signal that he could once again move, he peppered her cheeks and mouth with kisses to distract her from the sharp pain in her core.
She was tight and warm and Cauldron he was a goner.
The pinching between her legs lessened with ever gentle role of his hips and she felt like calling out his name for all the world to hear.
“My Shadowsinger,” she murmured into his neck, kissing him there.
“My Queen,” Her slick walls clenched when he purred the reply.
Azriel had wanted this intimacy since their first meeting, the night he danced with her till the early morning, he knew this would be the best night of his life. And after their first kiss, well… maybe he had been flaring his wings a little too wide. But she was a vision in his arms. Her small breasts pushed up against his chest, her back arching for him. She whimpered when he brought his hand back to that place between her legs. That special place.
“Please,” her mouth hung open.
“Yes?” he kissed her neck, grazing his teeth over a spot of tender flesh.
“More,” she could barely speak.
But Azriel knew exactly what she needed; he sped up his pace shifting so she was lying on her back and he hovered above her.
He lifted her hips up to meet his and she gasped his name at the new angle. His thumb put torturous pressure on the bundle of nerves at the apex of her thighs.
Once again, Azriel noticed her climax approaching before she did, “Come for me, my love.” He wouldn’t last much longer.
She tensed, hands fisting the white sheets.
“Don’t fight it,” he commanded and she obeyed.
Elain broke underneath him. All her muscles tightened and relaxed in quick bursts and she felt as if the room would never stop spinning. Azriel braced his hands on either side of her head, still keeping a steady pace throughout her climax.
“Azriel,” It was his name on her lips, and her pink cheeks, and hooded eyes that finally pushed him over the edge. She shivered when he came into her, dainty fingers gripping his shoulders. He whispered her name back and collapsed onto her.
He was careful not to hurt her, but his warm body on hers was a welcome comfort. She twirled his midnight curls through her fingers, trying to remember how to breathe normally.
“I love you,” she breathed softly against the crackling fire.
He flipped them over so that he rested on his back, keeping her close to his chest and somehow drawing the blankets over them, “And I-” he kissed her forehead and smiled, “-I love you more than all the stars in our night sky, Elain, you have my heart.”
Elain wished more than anything to have Feyre’s skilled painter’s hand, for she wanted to paint this moment, to keep with her for all time.
She rested her head on his chest, sighing contentedly and idly tracing his whorling tattoo. “You’re perfect.”
He tensed at the words, his eyes narrowed on the scarred hand that was tangled in her hair. He didn’t deserve to be this happy, this at peace; didn't’ deserve to lie with her.
She kissed his chest sweetly, “So perfect,” her eyelids fluttered shut in exhaustion and Azriel relaxed.
He had to be more forceful than usual with his shadows, for they would not stop brushing, gently against her sleeping form—nuzzling against her small body.
Yes, they whispered to him, This is right. She is right. She is light. Hold her close forever. Hold the seer close. Hold the gentle nurturer close. Love her as she loves you.
He watched her chest move at a normal rhythm once again and memorized the way her hair shone in the firelight.
And he fell asleep, content to have her warm body tangled with his and to know that he brought such peace and tenderness to her resting face.
