Dad’s always been an overeater, but ever since I showed him how to use DoorDash, he’s really been packing on the pounds. “Do you have time to take me clothes shopping this weekend, son?” dad texted me. “I can barely squeeze into my underwear nowadays, let alone any of my other clothes. Oh, and if we have time, maybe we can grab a couple pizzas on the way home… my treat.”

Nothing like the rumbling sound of dad’s snores after a huge meal. Love sending him straight to bed from the table to fall into a food induced coma. I’m going to have to get him some new shirts. They barely cover his fat gut as it is.

I've been slowly increasing dad's calories for the last few weeks. Small things. More pasta-based meals, a couple more slices of bacon on his breakfast, pizza nights here and there, smaller portions of non-fattening foods so he doesn't fill on those only, a constant stock of chips, cookies, chocolate and ice-cream but not much else for him to snack on between meals... Small things he won't really notice for a while. It's a slow process, but it works. He's gained some inches on his belly, and his clothes are starting to struggle. I'll keep this up for another week or two, then I'll give him a "light" phase. He'll lose some weight, but not as much as he's gained. Then I'll start boosting his intake again. This back and forth makes his weight gain slow, but it keeps him none the wiser.
