i like fics that don’t minimize billy’s injuries post starcourt. immediately after being hospitalized, he would need to be on a trach/vent, g-tube, central line, have a foley, and most likely some sort of ostomy. he would have deep scarring that would prevent him from regaining full mobility, broken limbs, potential spinal cord injuries, etc.

i get why his recovery is not often written that way (very complex, would take too much time to delve into), but seeing his progression as he heals physically/mentally and learning how to allow himself romantic love simultaneously when he thinks he’s too broken to deserve it is really such a treat. anyway i just love billy lol

#literally while i was doing gifs today i had to stop for like a good 20 minutes because of this exact shot #like the way he throws whatever was in his hand and covers his face to fully break down upsets me so much #and to know that this might happen every day to know neil does his mental and physical mining on the daily makes me sick #the probability that billy cries every day is like… so incredibly high #and all of those times it’s alone by himself with no one there to show any comfort #like how the fuck do people expect him to behave #he’s literally broken in a thousand little pieces (x)

billy’s ring is so special to me… from far away, and if you don’t pay too much attention, it simply looks like a bland silver band with nothing special to it but it’s actually carved, intricate, braided, has many layers to it. which i think it’s such a subtle but clear reflection of billy as a person as well idk i just absolutely love it
