BACKGROUND .
they’re born into a legacy in los angeles . victor brenner is a former winter olympian . having won gold in snowboarding multiple times and now is a highly sought after coach . naomi saito was a renowned actress and musician . part of a j-pop girl group that went global in the 90s and won an academy award back in the 2000s . born at exactly 8:28pm and on the same day as their older brother , harlowe is brought into the world . from then on , them along with their brother became the dynamic duo of child actors . with victor being a former athlete and naomi , an actress and musician , it was a no brainer that the twins would go into either profession .
at age 5 , harlowe is as cindy lou who in how the grinch stole christmas , jumpstarting her career in acting . from then on they start booking various roles in various shows like spy kids 2 and bridge to terabithia . during this time , harlowe also starts voice and music classes . they take up piano before moving on to guitar then bass and then percussion , falling in love with the notion of playing drums . and at age 8 , they’re told they’re a music prodigy .
at age 13 , harlowe gets cast as jenny humphrey in gossip girl and stays as a series regular for about three seasons . for the time being , she and her family relocate to new york . and while not everyone’s favorite character , harlowe finds success in that role . a couple years down the line , they start their band , ultraviolet . the band’s success ultimately leads them to leave gossip girl and take a break from acting due to being pulled in different directions . she starts to separate herself from her brother . focusing more on music than acting . playing shows and eventually touring the united states .
at the end of their first tour , the group goes on hiatus for a couple years , letting harlowe focus on college . they secure a spot at juilliard . by now , they’re known as more than just one half of the brenner siblings . since graduating , harlowe has taken a permanent residence in new york .

harlowe lets out a scoff at the statement . they raise their glass up to their lips to take a long sip of their drink . “ neither of those sound great , ” they grimace . “ but better to be ugly than brainwashed . at least my thoughts will still be mine . ”
as much as she worked hard, gemma always enjoyed a reason to go out and have fun. the opening of a new club was bound to bring any and everybody out. she'd already spotted several familiar faces throughout the night. the singer nearly walked right by when she noticed the other. "hey harlowe!" she greeted with a smile. "how ya been? feels like it's been forever since we've caught up, blame my busy schedule for that. but it's so good to see you."
after spending much of their childhood in the public eye , harlowe’s appearances at events have certainly dwindled over the years . however , when an invite for a speakeasy club is sent out , well … they couldn’t exactly decline now could they ? this was something worth making time for . nimble fingers wrap around their drink before turning only to nearly run into another . “ gemma ! ” harlowe grins . “ i’ve been good . god , it’s been a minute . how was coachella ? ”
"jeeze, harlowe. keep saying things like that, and i'll think you're thinking about me in your free time." and who is paige yoon even KIDDING ? girl has a repetiore of unreleased songs that anyone with instagram could easily tie down to her. paige is glad, actually, for once, that she's not at taylor's level. what she doesn't care for is someone speculating over her sexuality. romances are fine, but she supposes she's grown enough to want privacy when it comes to people she ... cares about. just admitting that is growth, right? blonde pauses, bambi eyes blink in surprise - constantly surprised by how honest the other is ( she's not used to it, never has been ). “ oh the horror , ” they’ll sarcastically jest . “ and would that be so bad ? ” levels their gaze with paige . despite their growing feelings for the blonde , harlowe maintains a level of insouciance . there’s give and take with whatever they are now . and they’re a private person . and if that sparks salaciously untrue rumors about them then so be it . but with paige … being publicly linked to the singer will be a different story . “ two parts , actually , ” they start . “ stevie nicks –– crowd goes wild at her fingertips . half-moon shine , a full eclipse . ” for paige yoon has the public wrapped around her finger . “ and taylor swift –– you’ve got edge , she never did . ” an up and coming pop star making waves like taylor did and now viewed under a microscope .

" vivienne tends to be somewhat of a REALIST when it comes to most things — doesn't really believe that certain places could have energies like that — but ... " i think it's more about what you put out into the world . you give good , you'll get good back . feeling ' dark energy ' from an entire city says a lot more about them than the place . " ... but i guess it feels better to have an excuse than to just admit that your attempt at making it flopped . sorta saves face , you know ? shoot , if ctrl hadn't been a success , i probably would've fell back onto lawyering as my excuse .
