Sound filled the room, heavy pounding settled behind her eyes as she along with others prepared food for the people in the ballroom. Halfrida worked nonstop keeping her thoughts on the here and now, and not what had happened before. Nothing in life prepared a person for such a thing. Blood she could handle, seeing animal carcasses torn apart by predators hardly gave her a shock anymore, and yet the idea of supposedly dead people walking. They be dead for a reason. 

Turning her task to washing the dishes she hadn’t noticed the other servants had begun to file out of the kitchens to take out the food. Halfrida relished in the quiet no matter how short it would be as it was a rare commodity. She felt a bit of a chill run down her spine before the simple sound of someone coming in had startled her. The plate shattered upon the floor with Halfrida following after it quickly gathering the pieces into her apron. 

“Up yer arse.” She mumbled to herself. Her eyes caught the legs of the person who just entered with almost guilty eyes. “I mean... oops.”
