“Yeah,” she nodded with a smile. She didn’t even know she could still smile. So he remembered the hat. That… It looked like it had been so long ago, but it didn’t, “I kind of missed the outdoors,”

Kirie surveyed the rest of Haru’s painted flowers and smiled up at her. 

“The outdoors … it’s been a while since we’ve seen the sky, hasn’t it?” Kirie’s smile softened a bit as he tucked his hands into his pockets. 

“Surely there are people still looking for us. There must be, don’t you think…? We’ll escape this place soon, Yoshida-san.” The boy gave a little laugh before placing a closed fist on his chest. 

 “King Kirie will make sure of it somehow!”

She nodded when Kirie talked about the sky, “Yeah.. I hope I don’t forget how it looks like,” is she laughing? What the heck is up with this weird expression? Is she trying not to cry over something?

Heh, the crow she made him. So he did remember. “Of course we will, your magesty,” Haru laughed a bit. She wanted to optimistic, but that was getting harder and harder.

“Errrrrrr…” no, she didn’t, “Errrrr… I mean, I… Kind of lost it?” she admitted in embarrassment, “I’m not doing anything against the rules, right?”

“No, no, y’re fine! I jus’ wanted to make sure…”

Enou scuffed his heel against the ground.

“Just stay in your room during nighttime, ‘s all. That way y’ don’t have to worry about anybody gettin’ to you, and—I don’t think anybody’d think you’d come after ‘em, but… ‘s just safer all around, y’know? I’m gonna do patrols at night just t’ make sure everybody’s safe in their rooms. Seem like a good idea t’ you?”

“Huh... Right,” she nodded at his idea. Patrolling sounded nice, but... “Maybe you want help? Huh, maybe that’s the opposite idea you had but...” Haru had to do something, anything.

“Yeah! That’d be nice,” even though she had never been a huge fan of video games, they were still nice, “Huh… Can you recomend me something?”

“Nice! Ya wanna try this one out?” Shiori gave a grin as he pointed to the non functional machine that he had been standing at, before gesturing at the other machines that lined the room.

“Ah can show ya how to use any of these!” Easy, peasy. They weren’t functional, but Shiori seemed to believe that they were all, for some reason. Giving the other a grin, Shiori could only give the other a laugh.

“Ya’d be good at any game ya play, Haru-chan!”

“Huh...” were they broken? She scratched her head, “I’m not sure if they were working the way they were supposed to?”

Stop Right There ⁍⁍ Post-Trial ⁍⁍ Open

Although Enou had taken quite some time to “recover” from the events of the trial, once he had made up his mind, he did everything he could to share his plan. He’d told everyone he’d crossed paths with and slipped notes under all of the remaining students’ doors, just in case.

He was instituting a curfew. The dining area was already closed from 10 pm to 7 am, so that seemed like as good a time as any. During that time, he wouldn’t allow anyone outside of their rooms. They’d be locked inside safely, and there would be no way for anyone to get killed if they were tied down to their own rooms.

Of course, there was still daytime to worry about, but since all but one of the murders had occurred in the middle of the night, he’d surely be able to prevent something this way. Or he hoped so. It was definitely worth staying up for, at least. Nothing else he’d tried had worked, but maybe this time… Maybe this time he could actually save his friends…

The hour was approaching, and he had begun his watch on the right side of the laundry room. Not everyone had come in yet, so he might have to go check out the rest of the grounds.

Shuffling the array of full take-home containers he’d smuggled out of the food court for the night, he perked up at the sound of approaching footsteps. There, someone who hadn’t retreated to their room for the night yet. He attempted a smile.

“H-hey! Turnin’ in for the night?”

Haru was tired. There wasn’t much to do other than being upset and crying. Time to distract herself. She was homesick and lost and tired of seeing people die and feeling useless. What a joke. Haru couldn’t save anyone couldn’t she?

She spotted someone with food containers. Lots of people in their rooms, flu or no. Might as well go and try to talk to them? “Hello…? Yeah, kind of…” Enou wasn’t doing a particularly good job in trying to smile, right.

Enou listened to his music for a minute before focusing back in on her. “Y’ don’t look like you’re feelin’ too well. I can’t blame you, but… Uh, what d’ you think about the curfew? You got my note, right?”

Games had never been Haru’s thing, but she was feeling miserable and wanted to kill time. Before people killed… No, no one else would die, right? Right… Or maybe not. All the people there were good people, even if they made bad mistakes. But maybe, maybe someone’d fall for that motive again.

Was that Shiori? Might as well greet him. Was he talking to someone? She didn’t really hear what he said.

“Oh, huh… That’s a lot of stuff, isn’t it? And…” right, she forgot to greet him, “Oh, hi”

Shiori had been…tapping random buttons, while staring at the screen in front of him. If the machines had been making sounds, and if they weren’t broken beyond reason, someone may have actually believed that he was playing a game of some sort. It didn’t matter which one. They were all fun. 

Hearing someone other than Yuu, Shiori turned around, a smile on his face.

“Haru-chan! Hey! Wanna play some games with me?”

In the end, Shiori refused to believe that Yuu was dead. He was sure alive, right? Because there’s no way that someone who would make a promise to stay by him, and make new memories with him, would be dead. That was an absolutely ludicrous line of thought, because to Shiori Fujiyama, his best friends were alive. 

He found himself wandering, lost in thoughts about what he would do with Yuu, into the new floor. He was amazed to see that it was decked out in arcade machines, and had frantically dashed over to one in his excitement. He knew that there were all sorts of games that he wanted to try playing, and super tetris was one of the many titles that he hoped to find on the new floor. Hopefully, Yuu and Sei would want to play with him, though he found that they were both on the quiet side today. Hearing a sound behind him, his face instantly lit up as he turned around and called out to the source.

“Yuu-chan! Hey, come ‘ere and see this totes rad game I foun’…!”

Was this… even a motive? Misato wasn’t sure - the bear just seemed to tell people to kill. Surely nobody would kil-

Wait, no, she thought that before. And she was proven wrong time and time again. So, by Murphy’s Law, someone would kill. This was an all-or-nothing situation, really. It’s almost as if whoever killed would be helping them find out who was behind all of this. Not really a favor, but it worked out in its own weird way.

Rather than heed the words of the bear, she decided it would be best to just act as if nothing happened, and so she plopped down at the cafe, patiently waiting for someone to come and talk to her. Once she heard the footsteps of someone approach her, she turned and smiled at them. She hadn’t worn her scarf since Yuu died. It felt wrong to, honestly.

“Hey! How’s it goin’? You think the bear’s losing his touch, or is that just me? Not really much of a motive, honestly.”

“I’m not sure, I mean... People do want to leave,” right, Shizukana. She seemed a bit lonely, but that was probably because there wasn’t a lot of people left. Why was she there again? Right, she was taking a walk to distract herself and make sure no one got in trouble. And probably fail at it.

There wasn’t muh Haru could at that point. Except there was, but it was a disgusting idea. Why was she considering that? It was disgusting. She wasn’t a bad person, after all, was she? If she could… If she could, she’d ask Monobear to kill just her and free everyone. Her parents would understand, wouldn’t they? It’d be a needed sacrifice, wouldn’t it?

And was Haroo tired enough of being trapped inside she was using some lipstick she never wore to draw flowers in her bedroom’s walls? And once she thought her bedroom looked enough like a garden she settled for doing in the walls outside her room. It was a beautiful pink flower garden?

Kirie had just been leaving his room when he noticed Haru’s at the wall. A closer look told him that she was decorating, though she was using rather unconventional materials. He smiled. 

“Yoshida-san?” Kirie approached her, tipping his head back to admire all of the flowers she had drawn.  “Is that one an iris?” He stuck a hand out of the sleeve of his fur coat and pointed to one of the pictures on the wall. “Ehe~ It reminds me of your balloon.”

Fallen cherry blossoms\Haru\openish

Haru was growing tired of all that death. At first she thought all those deaths made her physically sick. Then she realized she got physically sick physically sick. Right, it was probably stress, wasn’t it? Haru’s mother once told her something about stress lowering your immunity or something like that. Made sense, she used to be pretty healthy before... Stuff happened. Then her health worsened. Granted, she didn’t get sick all that often, but before... Well, before that, she almost didn’t get sick at all. It’s amazing really. So she was very useful and stayed in her room resting and crying.

Physically speaking, now Haru was fine. Emotionally, not so much. But then again, no one else was. And as ridiculous as it sounded, Haru missed going outside enormously. It was as if it was draining. Once she told her mother she looked like a huge cherry blossom tree. And now maybe she was one too, since she was withering from the lack of son. Where she should go? Maybe rest next to her room while figuring out where to go?

Short Biography: The friendly and outgoing Haru was born to a literature professor and an equally famous folklorist, she was encouraged to read and respect traditions from a young age. Jury’s out on weather nature loving Haru would have been drawn to ikebana and books on nature or not. Despite being born to a wealthy family, she doesn’t quite act like most would expect a wealthy girl to act - if anything because her parents went out of their way so she’d know the value of money.

Appareance:  Haru is fairly tall for her age and this contributes to making her look older than she actually is. Her weight is average for her height. Her built is somewhat muscular, but not overly so. Her chest size is also average for her age. Her eyes are purple and somewhat big. Her skin is pale and she often freckles in the sun.  Her  straight, pink hair is bellow knee-length – ie. Ridiculously long. She often braids it. Her clothes are practical and usually in dark colors, especially dark blue – her favorite color

Okay, so Haru was still in pain. But she was going to be fine, she just got injured somehow. And she somehow managed to startle Kirie, who was already there but she didn’t notice him. And did he drop anything?

“Sorry… To be honest, same here,” she scratched her head, laughing nervously. Was she faking being okay? Yes. Was she convincing? Probably not at that point, if anything because she had made very clear earlier how she felt about the whole thing.

Kirie looked at her with a careful smile. Haru did not seem quite herself, but after the events of the trial, who was? Kirie brushed a few of the fallen pills under the table with his boot.

“Ehe~ I guess we startled each other. Are you … doing alright, Yoshida-san?” Kirie lowered his gaze. The answer was obvious. 

“A lot happened at that last trial, don’t you think …?” Kirie shrank into his coat. “I wish it didn’t have to keep getting so difficult … to trust my friends.”

“Not really...” obvious answer was obvious, but Haru regreted not keeping it to herself, “Huh...” she started at Kirie for a couple seconds. Both she and Kirie could use a hug, rigt?

“Yeah...” that motive sure was something, but... She didn’t agree fully with Kirie, “Those secrets were bad, but... I don’t know why people did what they did,” Kirie’s secret itself disturbed Haru, but he probably had his reasons.

A full day and night had passed after the trial with Kirie nowhere to be seen. He kept his bedroom locked, shutting himself out from the world so that he could collect his thoughts. Between sleeping, it was all he did—so much had happened lately, the least of which had been the secrets revealed during trial.

On the second day after Yuuki’s death and Aito’s execution, Kirie emerged from his room, pulling his fur coat closer to him as he tread softly through the halls. He had not yet visited the newly opened floor yet, but he expected one—perhaps this was why no one seemed to be around. As he ascended the steps to the third floor, Kirie did not know whether a familiar face was something he craved, or something he dreaded.

With an alert glance around the area, Kirie visited the infirmary first. Medical paraphernalia surrounded him as he took a few paces into the room. Bottles of pills, IVs, needles—all things that were no doubt useful for saving people’s lives but seemed somehow sinister in the midst of that bear’s game. Kirie cringed as he approached the shelves and picked up the first bottle of pills he saw, reading over the label. Kirie was startled by the sound of a door swinging open. Wide-eyed, Kirie flinched and the bottle flew from his hand, clacking onto the ground and sending pills flying in all directions.

“Ah—!!” Kirie cried out, freezing in place as the pills rolled to the ends of the floor. Fear fading from his eyes, he looked up at the classmate that had come in after him and gave a little smile.

“Ehe~ You … startled me a bit …” He chirped, laying a hand across his chest . After making such a scene in front of everyone when he discovered Yuuki’s body, Kirie seemed to making every effort to return to the way he was, but there was a wariness in his body language that had not been there before. On instinct, he took a step back.

a little fucked up

Yuu felt sick.

His whole body ached, and he fought the urge to puke. His secret was among the worst- far more evil than even Yuuki Senge herself, who’d ordered someone’s death via firing squad. And they all thought SHE was bad when a serial killer was loose among the group.

He wanted to explain it all, but also wanted to force the memories back into the deepest crevices of his mind. They were something of the past, something he told himself he’d never return to. And yet… Here he was again, trapped in a place where murder became the daily routine.

He felt his whole body shiver as he walked into the hospital room, looking around for something… Anything. His eyes swelled with tears as he reached for a tissue but did nothing more with it aside from toying with the paper in his fingers.

“We gotta… We gotta…” He sobbed to no one in particular. “We gotta do s-somethin’. We gotta do somethin’ now…”

Haru tripped because she was crying too much to properly see in front of her. What a time to be alive. Except for all the people who kept dying. She entered the infirmary to find Yuu already there. She didn’t really know what to think about the other student. But he probably acted the way he did for a reason. What she could do? Huh, right, greet him? Get medicine and leave?

“Huh... Hello?” which sounded kind of awkward.

Placing flowers in graves

So many people died. So many people kept dying, Haru didn’t think there was a lot of hope left. But she couldn’t die, her parents wouldn’t forgive her if she died. Well, they probably would, they always did. No matter what she did wrong, they always did. She didn’t deserve it, did she?

A lot of her classmates went through some really bad things, and some had done bad things too. But she couldn’t really judge them, she didn’t know them and she wasn’t all that better anyway. And there was Shizukana, whom Haru didn’t hate, but still... Lock all of them wherever they were to die like that? But there was more to it, wasn’t it?

Of course, anyone who saw Haru lying down on infirmary’s floor looking at the ceilling wouldn’t know she was thinking any of that, they’d probably wonder why was she on the floor as opposed to one of the beds. And maybe why her eyes were puffy..

So many withered flowers... - Haru\Reaction open

Haru didn’t know Yuuki all that much, but another death… A death at the middle of a party was kind of… Wrong. Every death was wrong, but it felt even more wrong, so to speak. Haru didn’t know what to do - she never did, but now even more so. People were dying like flies and she felt lost and alone. And everyone else did, probably, and she had nothing to say or do to help them.

She couldn’t even fake everything was okay anymore. Her soul hurt, and the tears were flowing and a person she’d never befriend was gone and people would miss her. What if Haru was next? She couldn’t just die next, she couldn’t afford to do that. 

Haru was in a crime scene crying for herself and not for the one who just died. What a joke.

“Haru-san?”

Unable to bring himself closer to the dead body he’d once befriended, Enou wandered over towards someone it looked like he could still help.

“ ‘re you… okay? I can… get some tissues. I, um, probably need some, anyway…”

Haru nodded at Enou’s offer of a tissue. She then realized she was supposed to be strong and try to make others feel less miserable, and not the other way around. 

“..Can I hug you?”

Maybe that’d help Enou, she didn’t know. Hugging did help her sometimes, too.
