So idk about you but it really bugs me that people like Harry, Ron & Hermione etc all hate the prejudice of muggle-borns, (for good reason ofc) but they're all kind of prejudiced against slytherins?? Like, they believe that all slytherins are evil or mean & spiteful when that's just not the case. It just annoys me, you know?

This very much bothers me. It would be understandable if JKR included their anti-Slytherin sentiments to show that heroes are fallible too, but idk, she never really addresses it and it’s still going strong in the epilogue and in The Cursed Child, which is very unfortunate. I really hoped that sorting Al into Slytherin would help on this front- theoretically, making the protagonist a Slytherin and having him defy the negative expectations associated with that house could force people to think twice about what being a Slytherin means. But it seems like Al’s constantly being taunted for being a Slytherin and grows alienated from his family because of it, so I’m not sure what this will do to change people’s expectations.

I’ve been re-reading the Harry Potter books and currently at Deathly Hallows. Should finish by the time my copy of Cursed Child gets here. Who else is excited for new HP stories?! :))
