I’ll say again that Rowling’s transphobia is tragic and evil and dumb, for the obvious reasons but also because:
Fantastic Beasts had the two things I truly prize in any movie, a bunch of mythical creatures and an attractive fat male love interest, and you can’t even gush about that guy being a cutie without a huge disclaimer these days because the creator of the franchise believes truly reprehensible things.
That said she did write a truly reprehensible sequel too. It was bad.
