2026 MPREG Fest—Submission Guide and FAQ
Oh friends, it's that time of the fest creation process when we're gearing up to receive submissions from our creatives! We're very excited about what is going to be coming our way. Some of you have teased some very interesting works.
The due date for this year's fest is 19 April 2026 which isn't too far away. If you're struggling at all, please let us know so we can have a chat about it.
The Work Submission Form is linked here, and details on how to use it are below.
POSTING YOUR WORK TO THE AO3 COLLECTION
Avoid posting drafts to the collection. It gets a bit confusing. Instead, use your personal AO3 to preview and make sure your spacing and formatting is tight, then add the Fest Mod account as a co-creator. Once the work has been submitted to the collection no more changes may be made, as we will be reviewing and preparing to post. If you must make changes, please contact us to discuss.
The Fest Mod account is hdmpregmod, and the work must be added to the 2026 H/D MPREG Collection.
Post to the collection on or before 19 April 2026 by going to the AO3 collection page and clicking Post to Collection.
AO3 has a handy tutorial here if you're unsure about this. You'll need to tick the Add co-authors? box, which is where you'll add the hdmpregmod account. This ensures we can proofread everything and keep the end-notes uniform and tidy for posting during the fest. Once the fest posting concludes, we will remove the co-creator status but the works will remain in the collection.
Use Archive Warnings if your work contains graphic depictions of violence, major character death, non-consent, and/or under-age content. This is not negotiable.
Add content tags to your work to describe the content. Readers may follow tags to assist them to find new works that they are interested in. Please refrain from excessive use of free-form tags that do not describe the actual work. Once the fest has finished, you may add any additional tags.
Unless it's a critical plot point that requires a spoiler, it is highly recommended that you tag for the pregnant character(s). This has been a particularly polarising issue in the past, and it is best to inform potential readers if possible. The Mods will review content tags and may make or suggest adjustments as necessary.
Add Creator's Notes at the top of your work. It's a great way to shout-out your crew and beta-readers, cheer leaders, supporters, etc., but ensure that you use their initials while the posting is anonymous! Update the notes after posting concludes to shout it out correctly.
Smash the Submit button to send the work on its way. No more changes may be made now, and the Mods will get a ping so we know it's time to do our parts. Now there's just one more thing for you to do and that's...
Create your Header using our Work Submission Form in AirTable for a HTML-free creation experience. At sign-up, you'll have been given a 5-digit number which the form will need—go and look at your confirmation emails, we promise it's there.
The form will ask you a few questions, most of which you'll be able to source from AO3. If you run into any issues here, you can always contact us to have a chat.
Yep, that's all that's left for you to do after hitting the AirTable submit button. Your work will show up as Unrevealed Mystery Work in the collection, but you'll still be able to see it if you're signed in. If you want to check, use a different browser or device where you're not signed in, and see that the work isn't public.
At the time of posting, we will update the date of your work to the posting date for maximum exposure when it's revealed. After the work is revealed, do not change the date.
All written work creators and artists who elect to post un-signed works will be marked as Anonymous until the end of the posting period. Podfics will not be posted as anonymous. Hype is definitely encouraged, but please don't reveal yourself or reply to AO3 comments until after the fest has concluded, it's a bit poor form and spoils the fun. It's only a few weeks, you'll be okay.
If you need more info that isn't addressed here, check out the current Fest Rules post, or get in touch with the Mods. We're available via email, tumblr, or discord.
All hyped up and plenty to do,
