Probably most of you have heard or if you haven’t, well now you’re about to read it: apparently Taeyong pushed a fan that tried to hug him while he was going down the aisle.
before we start this topic: we would like to say that we are extremely sorry for the fan who was pushed down and sincerely hope that she is doing better.
READ AND VIEW THIS CAREFULLY.
This is not a post to defend him or sugarcoat any of his mistakes, this is merely a post we’ve made to clarify some misunderstandings. All videos & pictures belong to their respectful owners. We aren’t trying to blame anyone in this situation.
1) The fan did step out of the allowed boundaries and tried hugging Taeyong:
the part circled in red is her arm & the part circled in blue is the sign she was holding. this indicates that she actually attempted to get a hold of Taeyong:
2) now here is what the situation looks like, look carefully at Taeyong (in the white shirt) & the girl that is geting pushed. You may watch the video here
right, this definitely seems like Taeyong pushed her.
3) now lets look at it in slow motion and focusing on the second she fell. Look at the red circle, there is a hand that is pushing her. It definitely is not Taeyong’s hand.
let us show this in only one frame:
there is a hand that is pushing the girl down, the arm has a wrist watch on it. The girl definitely was pushed down because of that hand.
4) lets look at this situation in another perspective, from Taeyong’s back, again in slow motion: The girl is coming forward and is pushed down abruptly. You may watch the video here

5) now direct your attention to the bodyguard behind Taeyong and look at the gif again.
The bodyguard is the one who is pushing towards the girl. Lets watch it again, this time please look at the bodyguard (the one behind Taeyong in a black jacket) and the girl ONLY. Once the bodyguard leans in the girl is pushed down:
Taeyong was not the one who pushed down the fan. This will stay uncertain until the fan speaks up. But we do have video evidence to support our claim. The one who pushed down the fangirl wasn’t Taeyong, it was the bodyguard.
Was there Taeyong’s impact? Most certainly might be, he did move fast, which also might be because of the pushing guards from behind. But overall, it wasn’t his fault the fan fell.
We are not blaming the fangirl for anything at all, but it is always smart and respectful to stay behind allowed boundaries. Touching idols without their permission is not okay, it can be considered harassment. Fansigns and free hug events are completely different things from ‘”oh I must touch my bias” during a concert. Yes, it has been a long time since us SMROOKIES fans have been waiting for debut which brings along things like fansign & free hug events, but this does not mean we can try to touch our idols once we get the chance. Our words aren’t only for the SMROOKIES fandom, but all fandoms as well. Idols are humans too, please do not forget this.
We would also like to mention this:
Yes, Taeyong has made many mistakes when he was younger and we do not plan to sugarcoat these things. What we want to say is that Taeyong has grown up and matured. He was only a middle school student when he did those things. Please stop trying to connect the dots to his past whenever he does something in present time. He is a man over his 20s now, years have passed since he’s done those things. He has apologized publicly. You do not need to forgive him. But please do take into consideration that every human matures. One day is sometimes enough to change a person. Please stop trying to use every little situation of his against him, especially without investigating it.
