Anna/Jo righteous woman!AU for anon and Alex

"Anael. I’m an angel of the Lord", the redheaded woman says softly, glaring at anything but Jo’s face.

"There’s no such thing", she answers bitterly, the shotgun still held firmly by her steady hands.

"See, this is your problem, Joanna", and Jo can feel a shiver running down her spine when the woman uses her full name which sounds almost holy coming out of her mouth. "You have no faith".

And when her eyes finally meet the blonde’s gaze, Jo reckons the woman might be the most beautiful thing she’s ever seen, angel or not.

Sometimes I like to think about Cassie getting her first “big” job as a reporter, covering DC, the Beltway. And it’s so much about who knows who, who knows what on who, status and people who see times changing and fight like hell to make sure nothing ever changes.

Cassie feels completely out of place. Cassie’s a strong person, but they’re getting to her, and she knows it, and she can’t seem to stop it.

And then one day she runs into a Congressman, one who has really gone off the rails - lots of weird scandals, erratic behavior, a complete personality change. 

When he asks her for a private interview, this is her “big break,” but she feels uneasy. He looks at her like a piece of meat, and she swears his eyes turn black when he doesn’t think she’s looking.

She remembers his aides - the ones who haven’t vanished - talking about how he stinks of sulfur. 

This is so ridiculous, she knows she’s probably going to end up in jail, or run out of town, but her parents always told her to follow her instincts.

She calls up some of the hunters who live around DC - because Dean still somehow always, even when she’s moved a few times and she’s read reports of his death/arrest/disappearance a few times, manages to send her updated info on people who can keep her safe, if she needs them (he always adds a, “PS. I know you can take care of yourself. I see that look.”)  And they set everything up for her, then wait in some undisclosed location, just in case she needs their help.

She asks the Congressman to meet her at her apartment (it’s not really her apartment, she can’t afford anything as nice as this place), and he walks right into a devil’s trap.

She’s never been so scared, as she reads the exorcism, and some part of her wonders what she’s opening herself up to, if this is starting a chapter she’ll never be able to finish. 

The shaking, the screaming, the black smoke…she knows she’s going to dream about them for a long time. Yet, she’s not scared. She should be, but she’s not. Even now, missing a deadline is her biggest nightmare. This…it’s not easy, but it seems easy, somehow.

The Congressman says he has no memory of the last six months. No one believes him, and they cynically rattle off the list of reasons for him to retire “to spend time with his family,” or to park in rehab. 

Cassie believes him. And she gets the exclusive interview with him that all those cynical assholes were pretending they didn’t want. 

To use a cliche - this is going to be her town now.

It might take a while, but it’ll happen.

Jo/Anna High School AU Prompt by mitch123k Inspo: Arctic Monkeys, Arabella (x)

Anna and Jo have been in love with each other for so long that when they finally get together, exactly no one is surprised.

When Jo tells him, still reeling from their first kiss, Dean kind of…blinks at her and says “Wait, you weren’t already together?”.

Meg arches a carefully plucked eyebrow, lights a cigarette and smirks. “Well, about time.” she drawls. “If it was possible to die from excess of sexual tension, you two would be six feet under.”

Castiel, Anna’s twin brother, gives Jo the stare of doom. At first, Jo thinks it’s Castiel’s equivalent of a ‘hurt-her-and-i’ll-kill-you' speech, but after a long, assessing minute, Castiel shoots her a rare smile and simply says “Good.” Anna rolls her eyes, squeezing Jo's hand.

And Jo’s mom? Well, Ellen goggles at them for a minute, and then throws her head back and laughs, laughs, laughs. After a few minutes, she manages to calm down long enough to say “Oh, sweetheart, as far as I’m concerned, you’ve been together since you were eight.”

Jo doesn’t really mind.
