So, let’s talk

Not that I think anyone has noticed, but I haven’t really been posting the last couple weeks (maybe a month idek)  like I used to and I thought I should mention why because, I don’t really know, at least you know I’m not dead lol 

So, basically the short of the long of it is, I’m temporarily bowing out of this fandom because I can’t take the toxicity anymore. I’ve never been apart of such a... wild group of people man I mean, some of you.... For the most part, it’s other places like instagram and facebook that are the real root of the problem for me and most of the people I’ve met on here besides like 1 or 2 have been nice and we’ve chatted, got along, stayed friends and shared our love for Jokers; it was great... but then you’ve got the people making shit posts daily and like literally harassing the guys, people who wanna be petty and start stupid shit (I’m looking at you facebook), people who think they’re entitled to better shit just because they’ve been there from the beginning or because they think they know the guys (I’m sorry, the older folks in this fandom are kind of unbearable at this point, I can’t take it...), and people who are just assholes in general that make the experience shitty....this fandom is a joke and not in a good way...

I’ve never in my life been in a fandom that has been filled with this many toxic people and I know recently many others have peaced out because they felt the same and now I don’t feel so bad for doing so. This show was my whole life for the better part of two years and I stuck around because I thought it was worth it but recently, I joined a new fandom and having stepped away from this one for a little bit really opened my eyes and made me see how unhealthy this fandom really is... 

Anyways, this isn’t goodbye forever, just for now. I think I’m gonna take the spring hiatus to really step back and see what happens. I’ll still be around on tumblr, I’m not deleting this blog, and who knows, I may reblog the occasional thing but for now I think it’s best to just step away before the fans completely ruin the show for me

This is probably a mistake but I could only ignore so many of the Quinn thirst videos that randomly started popping up on my TikTok recently before it sucked me in and I don't know... it got me thinking about this blog, and the guys, and all the people I used to talk to and after nearly seven years, I felt the hyperfixation slowly creeping back in..

I think everyone that used to be here is gone now but I'm simply using this video as a (funny) way of saying you may see me reblogging things and making the odd post here and there--nothing like before... probably.... but that I simply might be around every now and then.

I know things have changed a lot since I've been in the fandom. Not just with the guys and the show but with the fandom itself so, I guess all that to say I'm here as a guest for now, despite once being in a little too deep.

I agree that Bryan sometimes influences him and he's even sometimes the voice of reason in these kind of conversations --BUT-- I think it's safe to say that Q is a bit of a slut and the one issue where he seems to really lose his footing is when it comes to to talking about women imo. He has a very old school way of looking at that kind of stuff and I think that a lot of the time where women are concerned it is actually him saying what he means. I haven't heard the new episodes and tbh I stopped listening when he pretty much said he shuns fat women on the show years ago so Idk the context of the Franco stuff but I can imagine him saying it in all honesty. I don't really count the WSY and Tenderloins pods as the real him because they were still associated with IJ and he and Sal both commented on not being able to say certain stuff sometimes because of that. I hope for the best but I wouldn't be shocked if had those kind of views 🤷🏽

Fair point. I recall him making those comments as well in addition to other offensive things. Not a good look for him in any case. I wish more people would call him and Bry out for making offensive comments, but considering the following TESD has, I’d be willing to bet that people are afraid of being lashed out against for hating on Q and Bry. TESD is almost a cult-like fandom to me. Maybe people do call them out on Reddit and Twitter since that’s where I’ve seen most fans gather, but I don’t think it’ll do much good if it isn’t done on a broader scale. At any rate, I hope they come to their senses and stop defaulting to ugly “locker room” talk.

I don't think it's toxic so much as just incredibly inactive and that makes ppl antsy, particularly for drama of any kind, so some ppl just invent some lol. Even the Reddit threads are pretty dead these days, sadly. I think the fella's as jokers time might be up soon, but I'm sure they're all ready to move on to other things anyway. Saw them (except Sal) live at Jiggy's show last night and Joe looks good, but Q and Murr are looking quite a bit older and less energetic, it was kind of a shock tbh 😕.

Yeah, that seems plausible as well. The fandom is slowly becoming less and less active, at least on social media. I still love the guys and the show, but I agree that it may not have the same hype as it used to. I’m glad to see they are all kind of doing their own things in addition to the show. Makes me hopeful that they’ll still keep busy and continue being creative even if the show ends in the near future.

I mean, I won't lie.. I kinda bowed out after a while because some of the people in the fandom really did kind of ruin it because there were people who always felt like they were better than other fans just because they were fans for a longer amount of time or had been to more shows and cruises and blah blah blah, it was just exhausting... but it is really sad to not see anyone active anymore (including me) because when it was fun, it was fun... I think it's just one of those things where you can only go on for so long but I'll still be sad when it's over
