Nothing specific?!! OKK I'll just give some tidbits!! :3 although I do plan on making a post with a full summary of the AU that some of these might overlap with!!
As a rundown, this is an au where Aperture went a step further with their robotic labor initiative, and much earlier into the companies lifespan, evolving into full-out Synthetic Humans that they had hoped to plant inconspicuously in the workplace among human workers. Many of the personality spheres were selected for trial participation as hosts to the first prototype versions of the gen 3 Synths, including Wheatley.
The main cannon divergence, aside from that, is that the game's storyline ends with Wheatley only ALMOST being sent to space. Him and Chell escape together. My work mainly pertains to their very complex relationship and how it evolves as they both learn to grow past what Aperture had made them.
Takes place in the same universe as Half-life, very post-apocalyptic! although i've kind of messed with the timelines how I see fit. The two of them find themselves in a quaint lil self-sustaining community, not quite unlike Eaden from Blue Sky! But I also take some inspiration from some fallout stuff (<guy who only knows one post-apocalyptic based media)
I’ve been asked a few times, so I'll clarify here!! in my Hope comic, the doc makes mention of an Inn owner, Ms. Cotard, who Wheatley is sent to stay with, and that is who we see greet Chell in my latest lore comic! Wheatley calls her Miss Lucy. they become good friends later on!
Chell had been an absolute wreeeck in those 3 months and 22 days between those two comics. I think she had always had trust issues. she never really planned on trusting Wheatley beyond what was required, but she did. She would never admit it but a part of her grew attached! So his inevitable betrayal hit her particularly hard. it reinforced all of her worst fears about people and about the world, pushing her deeper into her reclusive tendencies. so deep that she had been completely isolating herself from the world that entire time. it’s a miserable existence!
i know i draw a lot of it but it takes a verrryyy long time for anything romantic to bud between Chell and Wheatley! a little over two years in my head.
as always all my content for them is under #Synthley Au! ( also some fics on my ao3 but i am NOTT a writer LOL) and a good 99% of what i’ve drawn, bar the silly memes and such, so far is cannon somewhere in the timeline!!
