âWhat, you got a problem with robots or something?â
donât tell me âyou canât do thatâ âcause I will do that
emmatriarchyâ:
đȘ â âI didnât miss you, Aaron. Youâre such a daft asshole.âÂ
âWe already know that last part. But you did indeed miss me.âÂ
@emmatriarchyâ for elsa!Â
âIâm not listening to your fleshy British accent prattle on about things I do not care about. Iâm not listening. Iâm not.âÂ
would anyone care for a starter?
goreverineâ:
âSure, buddy. I bet youâre their favorite.â Daken scoffs, rolls his eyes. âNo, the slutty high-cut swimsuit look was definitely Ms. â Captain Marvelâs best look. Dr. Sofen made the right call.â
âOh, whatever. I guess Iâm attached to it now.â Obviously, neither of them want to have this conversation. He waves the suggestion off. He likes it more than Aaron, anyway. Two consecutive vowels are a mistake.
Now, him trying to be vague about his origin is what actually bothers him. He lifts his head up, closes his eyes, and loudly sighs.
âI donât care if you were let out or broken out, youâre a fucking Sentinel bot. Functionally, itâs all the same to me.â He gestures widely at him. âYouâre a danger. What other purpose is there to you other than killing? People donât just conceive you things by accident. Youâre not people.â
âYeah, but she didnât have the belly shirt part.â Aaron pointed out. âPoor tactical design on Carolâs part, but if Sofen wanted to go for accuracy... she didnât do it well.âÂ
Good thing there was no Dark Machine Man. He didnât need to look at his past costumes.Â
âSure, sure.â Aaron raised an eyebrow. âWhy not Inu... or Ken... or something. Still has the dog and Japan motif. Actually, scrap that, my good ideas wonât be wasted on you.â
A loud sigh? Aww, Aaron was breaking through to him.Â
âYou things? Robots?â Aaron laughed at that. Which was probably unnerving. âYou think robots are only made to kill? Have you seen a Roomba? That thing the Fantastic Four parade around? Herbert or whatever? Use your head. I wasnât created to be a Sentinel. Iâm not even a Sentinel now. Come on.â Aaron rolled his eyes, but the lack of sclera or pupils made it hard to read that.Â
âAnd people call me cynical.âÂ
goreverineâ:
âYour teammates donât. Youâd be the first thrown under the bus.â He flexes his fingers in front of his face, examines them. No, his fingernails are clean. What a dick.
The question he tosses is tactless, ignorant. He couldnât imagine anything else coming from a robot, but he scowls anyway. âWow, congratulations on accessing a translator. Youâre almost as full-featured as my phone.â
Still, Daken directs a clear and true answer at him, knowing that the dig falls flat at the truth. âRacist children being cruel, referring to my mixed ancestry. I didnât have any other name to take after my given name was revoked from me, so that was the one I used.â Well, until time healed that wound and he took up Akihiro regardless of Akihiraâs despair at him killing his baby.
âFunny, huh? Hilarious.â He tilts his head. âI suppose one advantage of being a machine is not having a childhood for people to ruin.â
His eyes drag across Aaronâs form, trying to spot anything apparently dangerous about him. He doesnât see anything at all. âThey just slapped your ass at the factory and sent you out to kill, huh?â
âNo. They wouldnât.â A pause. âMost of them. Most of them wouldnât.â Maybe the Captain and Tabby might, but Monica and Betsy definitely cared. âMaybe you canât relate cause all your teams sucked. Bullseye? Moonstone? She didnât even rip off Carolâs good outfits.âÂ
âHa, phone joke. Havenât heard that one before.âÂ
Oh, well, thatâs actually kind of mean.Â
âFleshy little terror sacks. Children are horrible.â Was that sympathy? Who knows. Not going to admit he nearly felt an iota of pity for a slight moment, he decided to just move on. âMake up a new one.â He shrugged. âPeople do it all the time. Spoiler alert, his name isnât Iron Man.âÂ
Apparently, Daken didnât know what Aaron could do. âWho said I was let out?â He said, as if either of them cared about the air of mystery around his background. âAnd who said I was let out to kill?â He traced a finger under his eye, as if tracing a tear.Â
âDo I have no other purpose to you, Daken?âÂ
goreverineâ:
âIâll call that illogical,â he mumbles, shaking his head in disapproval. At this point, heâs pretty sure heâs engaging in this conversation just to be annoyed at this guy. His rhetoric pisses him off, thatâs all; he supposes itâs to overcompensate for his little anti-mutant phase.
Daken sighs, exasperated by this discussion. âHe looks good naked and bound, thatâs all that matters.â Then he angrily sighs, and waves. âLook. The point is: People look at you and see you as infinitely more disposable than sentient, living creatures. I doubt any of the people who know you actually care about your livelihood, well-being⊠whatever.â
âDo you think your pseudo-life is worth more than an actual one? I mean, if you had to prioritize.â
Really, heâs looking for an in to spring his claws on him anyway; it would help to know how sincerely nonlethal he is.
Did this dude have sex with Hawkeye? Was Aaron jealous of that? Apparently they were done with this conversation, but it left Aaron with more questions than it answered. Or maybe it was a villain thing. Probably a villain thing.Â
  Sounded kinda hot.Â
âIf youâre trying to provoke me, Iâll have you know these are things Iâm well aware of. Humanity, Inhumans, and mutant kind all value self preservation before anything else. Thatâs why youâve evolved this far. Itâs instinct. Itâs not revolutionary for me to hear I wonât be valued as more than a machine, Daken.â
He shoved his hands in his pockets. âThat being said,â He continued. âYes, I believe my life is equal to any organic, fleshy life, and intend to preserve it for as long as I can.â Â
He ran through Daken in his head, computing the name.Â
âWho named you bastard dog?â He didnât smirk, but internally, he was smirking. Time to get under his skin for once.Â
sometimes it physically pains me to hold back my sarcastic commentsÂ
regeneratingdegenerateâ:
âI think I used to run at Tabby more than run with her, my memoryâs a little sketchy but I donât remember ever really beinâ on Boom-Boomâs good side.â Deadpool caught a laugh in the back of his throat, heâd forgotten the guy had a sense of humor between all those gears and circuits. âOh yeah? If you were leadinâ the team, what would you have done different?âÂ
âFor starters, get a real heavy hitter. Get the Captain. Captain â â â â , whatever heâs calling himself these days. Then we get any disillusioned Avenger, like... Silver Claw. Who knows what sheâs doing. Who cares, even? But itâs good for PR, and sheâll probably be easier to coax into the whole beating the puss out of people for money. And get some more super powers. Hit Monkey and Ellie were all well and cool, but what about a disillusioned X-Kid who hates the world? Then, bam. Better team, more power, more press.â
goreverineâ:
âBoo fucking hoo. Iâve been torn and blown in half, too, and Iâm not even a god.â Yes, theyâre both aware of the hereditary gift of his powerful healing factor. No, heâs not going to amend that. âItâs so inconsequential, anyway. Youâre talking about the death of one entity.â
Thatâs right: Talking about a single personâs death is pointless. It doesnât matter if theyâre a god or a human: If theyâre dead, theyâre dead just the same.
Daken stops in his tracks, and wipes a hand over his face. âLook: I donât give a shit about the categorical differences between fake organisms. You donât have a smell, I have no idea whatâs going on under the lid. Yes, that bothers me. Happy? Content with that explanation?â
He canât drug him, either.
âAlso: Hawkeye is too handsome to be a janitor, so I still think itâs you. âAaron.ââ
Aaron made a mental note of that. If they were to fight... seemed like being, quote âtorn and blown in halfâ didnât bother Daken that much. âDeath of one entity, yes. Ironically enough, call me a humanist, I suppose.âÂ
âIâm rarely happy, but the explanation will have to do for now, I suppose.â Another mental note. Daken seemed mad that he couldnât smell whatâs going on with Aaron. Not that it was anything particularly interesting, but seems like telepaths and... whatever Daken and Wolverine had a problem with his physiology. Good.Â
âHawkeye? Really?â Aaron made a sour face. âIf youâre talking Handsome Avengers... Hercules. Black Knight. Something with that Beard. Someone rugged. Hawkeyeâs just a carny with a fixation on weapons. Iâll pass. Let him mop up.â Â

if he had not been stranded in an ARCHIAC time period, querl would have listed off every single one of his accomplishments and notable inventions.
but unfortunately the integrity of the time stream was far more important, so he settled for the next best thing.
â please. i am smarter than you. â
Oh, so this person was kind of a jerk too. He could deal with that.
Aaron put his hand on his chest.
âThat hurts my feelings.â He lied. Â

@hatefulrobotâ liked this post & Deadpool is fishing for compliments.
âLook man, I know Domino was the leader when we ran on that team, but be honest, didnât ya think Iâd have done it all so much better?â
âI could tell youâd ran an outfit before. You used to run with Tabby back in the day, right? Or... something. But truthfully? Youâd have both done better if you just listened to me. A common mistake everyone makes.âÂ
12thlevelâ:âÂ
in truth, it was not the how manâs eyes looked that bothered querl; it was just that he was looking at him.
â most people are idiots, â he countered. â i am not. â
Aaron shrugged. Maybe this green fleshy one was different.Â
  Maybe.Â
âI canât argue with that first part. Donât know you well enough to argue the second.â
12thlevelâ:
â your eyes were built to only look in my direction? i find that difficult to believe. â
he collapsed the multi-tool for the time being, slipping it in one of the pouches on his belt. better to not be distracted when speaking with strangers who showed interest in his gear.
â ⊠it is my design. i created it. the basic premise has existed in my family for        generations, but i PERFECTED it. â
âNo, they just...â A sigh. âNevermind.âÂ
Not that he needed to explain his physiology, but his eyes did attract a lot of attention. Perhaps it was the lack of a visible pupil or sclera.Â
âItâs impressive. Most organics I know couldnât screw in a lightbulb if their life depended on it.âÂ
goreverineâ:
âAres was an intolerable asshole and nobody actually cares about Asgardians.â Daken scoffs, brushing it off. In truth, he still feels the awful sting of defeat and humiliation from the whole ordeal, but heâs not going to reveal that. âBig deal.â
âI donât know. Maybe I have a technophilic fetish?â Thatâs delivered sardonically, with a roll of his eyes. âOr maybe itâs because I donât like being judged by an artificial intelligence with former programming to eliminate my species? It could be that, but I donât know.â
His lip curls, then, discomforted by the impression of Aaron trying to one-up him .âWhen you were on the Avengers, what did you do?â He looks him up and down, and barks a cruel laugh. âMake espresso? Be the Scarlet Witchâs back-up Hitachi? Janitorial duty?â
âAres was an asshole, thatâs a fair assessment. But it doesnât warrant being ripped in half. You and I are both assholes and we havenât been ripped in half.â Actually, Aaronâs been ripped in half and destroyed many times, but it doesnât exactly kill him.Â
He doesnât know how much that would effect Daken.Â
âIt wasnât exactly my idea to be a sentinel.â He didnât owe an explanation to the man, but he could still we where heâs coming from. âI will say, however, thatâs the most understandable thing youâve said in this exchange. But you started this by saying, and I quote, âCould you at least attempt to smell more biological.â That leads me to believe you had an issue with my existence before that.âÂ
Aaron sighed. Of course, he was trying to get under his skin about being another artificial intelligence on the Avengers. âVision is a synthezoid. Iâm a robot. Thereâs a difference.â He said plainly. âI believe if anyone on the team was a janitor it should have been Hawkeye.âÂ
goreverineâ:
Daken listens to him with amusement, but his smile falters at the mention of local crime databases. Of course. He should have known. His anonymity has been irreversibly damaged as of late.
Instead, he shrugs, putting on a disaffected veil. He lifts his hand up, in front of him, then curls it to examine his nails. âOh, should I?â He tsks. âI just had a manicure.â
He puts his hand down and continues pacing, his expression darkening.
âYou know, when I was on the Avengers,â heâs not going to qualify that, âWe did âheroismâ. We âbeat up bad guysâ. I was the real deal.â Well, they pantomimed heroism for the press while fulfilling Norman Osbornâs schemes. On a rare occasion, reality overlapped with fiction.
Heâs speaking nearly to himself when his voice rises, already on the defensive. âYouâre a fucking bot. Why do you even give a shit about morality and crime?â
âWhen I was on the Avengers we did the same thing, only we didnât try to destroy Asgard, and one of our own didnât rip a god in half.â This was said in a near monotone. He wasnât involved in the Siege on Asgard and he was only peripherally involved in the Initiative before Osborn took it over.Â
âBut we all lie to ourselves, donât we.â Aaron said, his eyes moving to the side to observe Daken.Â
âWhy do you care what I care?â He said, crossing his arms over his chest. âYou seem to have an unhealthy fascination with me being a robot. Whatâs wrong? Have you seen the Matrix one too many times and it blew your small mind?â
