Anne Hathaway was appointed a Global Goodwill Ambassador for UN Women, the U.N. agency promoting gender equality and the empowerment of women. UN Women Executive Director Phumzile Mlambo-Ngcuka, who announced the appointment on June 15, 2016, called her a longstanding supporter of women’s and girls’ rights. She said Anne will put the spotlight on women’s work at home caring for their families as a key barrier to equality Anne will be “working internationally to advance the adoption and implementation of policies that will bring measurable change,” including “affordable childcare services and shared parental leave at both government and corporate levels.” She previously served as an advocate for the Nike Foundation, which supports programs to empower adolescent girls in the developing world, and traveled to Kenya and Ethiopia to raise awareness on child marriage. In 2013, she narrated the CNN documentary, “Girl Rising,” which focused on the power of female education.
“Anne Hathaway was perfect casting for the role of Maggie,” Barbra Streisand said. “When Anne came into the studio, I was so happy to see her looking radiant and glowing – no makeup, with the beauty of a woman about to give birth to a child.”
‘At the Ballet’ featuring Anne and Daisy Ridley is part of Barbra’s upcoming album, Encore: Movie Partners Sing Broadway.

Gorgeous new parents! Adam Shulman on parenthood: “We’re doing great… It’s a total dream come true.” Are they getting much sleep? “Yes!” he said emphatically, then paused. “Sometimes… but I was never a big sleeper anyway.”
Anne Hathaway and Adam Shulman welcomed their first child, a baby boy named Jonathan Rosebanks Shulman, in March. Disney showcased its latest designer collaborations for the upcoming “Alice Through the Looking Glass” at West Hollywood jewelry boutique Roseark on Thursday (May 12) afternoon. James Banks designers Adam Shulman and Heidi Nahser Fink created close to 60 pieces at Roseark. “So much of the inspiration for the line comes from my life with [Anne]. I’m a very romantic person and I like to create things that are inspired by our love, so she’s definitely a huge inspiration. When you have a great partner, that’s how it goes,” he said. “My wife gives feedback all the time. She’s got amazing taste.” Source: WWD (5/13/16)
Anne Hathaway as the White Queen in Disney’s Alice Through the Looking Glass. In theaters May 27!
Jake Gyllenhaal on Love & Other Drugs co-star Anne Hathaway: “A massive talent, and a really brilliant and sometimes confusing human. She’s one of the most adventurous people I’ve ever met… When I first met her, and even now, even knowing her for a long time, Anne is somebody who would just not really want to get into the party — she is the life of the party and the person who will jump off the cliff first. She really is! I love contradictions in people, she happens to be that. I think she’s probably one of the most talented actresses of our generation.”

Anne Hathaway and Adam Shulman welcomed a baby boy named Jonathan Rosebanks early on March 24 in Los Angeles. Congrats!!
According to E! News, Anne’s paternal grandfather was named Roseline, while Adam’s mother’s maiden name was Banks. Adam’s middle name is also Banks. So they’re keeping it in the family!
Empire Magazine: Did you feel you had a duty to clothes shop online, purely in the name of research [for The Intern]? Anne Hathaway: Yeah, I did it two days ago. Net-A-Porter was having a 70 per cent off sale, so I was like, “Nice! Time to buy The Row.” ([Robert] De Niro looks at her with an amused expression, as if she’s speaking in tongues.)

They mentioned Chris Pine in the article but not Julie Andrews?! Shut up!
“I was with Anne Hathaway a couple weeks ago, it looks like we want to do Princess Diaries 3 in Manhattan,” Princess Diaries director Garry Marshall tells PEOPLE. “Anne Hathaway is very pregnant, so we have to wait until she has the baby and then I think we’re going to do it.”
Might there be a role in there for Star Trek and Princess Diaries 2: Royal Engagement star Chris Pine? “Maybe,” Marshall says. “He’s quite big now, you know.”
