But if it was true, wouldn’t they have, like … Closed it off or something? I mean you can call it a superstition but how many people want to live in a house where so many people have died? You’d think the market would have died out ages ago …
People who think ghost stories add to the value of a house are always moving in and out, if they make it out. Then there are people from out of town who get tricked into thinking it's a fantastic house.
It’s like they took every bad scary story you heard as a kid and put them al in one house. Jesus.
Is any of it true? I mean, I guess you wouldn’t know for a fact, but …
Yep. And that's not even half of it.
I think it's all true. I saw a ghost once when I snuck in. Nice kid.
What about that shitty lemonade bullshit they keep for guests? Pretty sure it was made for throwing at people …
I am not spiking anything I don’t intend to drink. Unless it’s for that uptight shitstick Chad, but I’m pretty sure he drinks enough on his own.
Like I said, as long as it's not at me, go for it. If I get shitty lemonade thrown at me, I will hunt you down.
Ah, don't give that guy anymore alcohol than what he already has. Bad enough he already goes around like he owns the place.
… Shit, that’s kinda sick. Frankenstein’s baby? Now that’s something I’ll have to see …
Oh yeah, it's fucked up. I'd check the basement if you're that curious, but be careful. He supposedly killed a couple of kids years back when they snuck into the house.
Anyways, after the Montgomery's, there were a couple random deaths, including Elizabeth Short, if you've even heard of her. Got killed in the house and then chopped up and shit. Really well known death. Then the Baxters, although I can't remember what their story is. They died though, that's all I know.
Start at the beginning, I guess?
You're like, really great at making decisions, y'know?
Right. Story time, then, I guess. So Nora and Charles Montgomery. Charles built this house for his wife, to her exact liking, which is fucking nuts, but that's beyond the point. They started an illegal abortion business, and one girl's boyfriend found out she had an abortion, got all pissy and kidnapped the Montgomery's baby. Next thing they knew, they got their baby back in pieces all put into jars. So, being the loon bin that he was, Charles sewed the baby back together and brought it back to life. Except it was totally fucked up and not human anymore, I guess, so Nora tried to kill it before killing Charles and herself. Supposedly, the weird monster-baby thing is still lurking around in the basement, and Charles and Nora have haunted the house ever since.
Whatever suits you, I’m all ears.
Right, that's helpful.
Well, there's the couple who made the house, or the family that died here like... 17 years ago or something, or the various others who thought it was smart to stumble into the house. Pick one to start.
Really, fucking hell, I might have to throw a bottle at the next person who trips over me. This place is starting to resemble a really bad New Years party and there isn’t even punch to spike.
As long as it's an empty bottle and it isn't me you're throwing it at, go for it.
Just spike all the drinks in the fridge.
Give or take.
Well, I guess that's good news. I mean, boring, but at least it isn't getting more crowded.
'Fraid not, only been in town a few days, but I'm not unwilling to listen if that's an offer …
Oh, if only I knew where to start.
Do you like newer stories or older?
I think I’d’ve heard about it. I never miss these things. Except that one time. Oh and one other. And then there was that whole family, I don’t even know what happened there. And the other family …
Nah I’d’ve heard about it.
Well, as long as you're so certain. So it's been like 5 minutes since someone died?
Really? I think it makes them so much cooler.
Oh, you're one of those people, huh?
Have you heard the stories, then?
Fair enough.
So did something happen or is it just the always lurking fact that you're trapped wanting you to get out?
No one’s died in the last, what, 5 minutes?
Fucking congrats, Hell House.
That you know of. I mean, we do have a house full of psychopaths. I'm sure they're pro at hiding deaths by now.
Is it shitty on the inside, then, or do you just have high expectations of houses?
Ghosts. Kinda lessens how nice a house is, I think.
You know there’s a girl here that talks to stuffed animals like they’re alive, and probably people that aren’t there too, she doesn’t seem to have freaked anyone out yet
You have to do it properly. Like, how people in horror movies just start talking to people in that really creepy, all knowing sort of way, y'know?
How exactly would it freak people out?
People get freaked out by anything. Talking to someone they cant see? That one would especially freak out the living.
