hi i just found your art i love it so much!!! very haunted, i love your use of lines. also 🤝 fellow fan of Fucked Up Homes! if i may ask, how do you go about drawing your environments?
Heey, thanks and sorry it took around an eternity to answer
Aslo I'm so glad all of the evil buildings enjoyers are drawn here like moth to flame <3
With environments I decide what goes in the background after I have a main thing of a drawing figured out. Then I look through millions of photos of either abandoned buildings or liminal spaces and sketch them roughly to decide where the character goes. And then I can go wild and look for references of little details (loove adding little signs of life to my backgrounds, like mugs, books, boxes of things, brocken furniture etc)
Aslo my favourite trick is to put something on the foreground in front of the character to give the environment more depth. And make everything on both sides of the character super dark, and everything behind them super light, so it frames them nicely. Works 100% of the time so far
