Update:

Simmie has already figured out to pee in her litter box, but she does not poop in it yet. She has also figured out how to escape from her play pen. So, some NIC grids are on the way so I can construct a new area for Simmie. She loves all of the little toys and the play house I have made for her. She loves hayyyyyy! She has also discovered spinach, romaine lettuce, and she has tried an organic baby carrot.

DIY hay feeder for rabbit out of a reporpused shampoo bottle. I simply cut a hole in top and in the bottom side of the bottle and smoothed out the edges of the plastic where I cut. Then I punctured A hole on each side of the bottle at the top. I then threaded some string through the hoes at the top and tied hem together. I connected the feeder to the play pen with a little key chain I had laying around, but I have seen others do it with a dog leash clip. You can improvise with whatever you may have around as long as it is safe for bunny. I chose o place the hay feeder over the litter pan in order to encourage the use of the litter box, plus I read that rabbits really love to eat while they potty!

DIY Healthy Rabbit Treats

Rabbit Treat Recipe:

Ingredients:

1/4 cup carrots

1/4 cup bananas

1/4 cup pellets

1/4 cup oats

Grind up ingredients using a food processor and mix them all together.

Roll out into 1/4 inch thickness and then cut into pieces.

Place foil onto baking sheet, and then place the treats onto the baking sheet.

Bake at 325 degrees Fahrenheit for 30 min.

When the 30 min. is up, turn the oven off and leave the treats in the oven for 1 hr. so that they treats have a chance to dry out. 

Now you have delicious, healthy treats to feed to your rabbit. But, as always, remember that your rabbits diet should consist of 80% hay, 10% veggies, 5% pellets, 5% healthy treats. Please feed these healthy treats to your rabbit sparingly.

DIY rabbit treats.

1/2 cup crushed pellets

1/4 cup oats

1 jar either plain apple or plain carrot baby food.

Crush / grind up pellets, mix all ingredients together.

Place foil on to a cookie sheet. Make shapes or balls out of the mixture and place onto the foil.

Let sit for 10 min.

Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

Cook for 30 min. Let cool for 1-2 hours.

Now it is time to feed a yummy treat to bunbun!

Remember, to feed treats to your bunbun in moderation! 80% of a rabbits diet should consist of hays or grasses, 10% veggies, 5% pellets, 5% healthy treats.
