Sometimes it means you struggle with feeling human, or understanding your humanity. Maybe you’ve always found nonhuman creatures easier to read and communicate with than humans, so you felt more naturally linked with them. Maybe you’ve felt detached from humanity because of how confusing the society humans have built is.

If you’re an autistic person who struggles understanding gender or struggles to describe gender, you may use words linked to your nonhuman identity because it’s easier to understand. Maybe a xenogender or neopronouns related to the species you’re kin with.

Maybe your special interest has become such an integral part of you over the years that it’s part of your identity.

And that’s okay.

Be proud of your wonderful autistic nonhuman self, no matter how strange it may be to others.

Idc if you think "poor little meow meow" is annoying, it's not the same as "cinnamon roll/smol bean" and you KNOW this. Cinnamon roll and smol bean were cutesy complimentary words used to mean "precious" or "adorable." When I call someone a poor little meow meow I am embodying the essence of a wealthy victorian widow lifting the chin of a shivering street urchin with her cane.
