hi friends. officially putting andie on a hiatus for now and i may end up putting her on my multi which is where i’ll be for the foreseeable future. thank you for making this such a special place for me ! i may be back, who knows !!!
hmm me thinks it may be time to hiatus this girlie
horrifiez ! riff .
“Oh, boo. Who cares about class anymore, anyway?” Pinky promise is rejected, raising her hand only to push the other’s pinky away. It’s not the first time Riff has suggested skipping class — or, demanded it, really. One day, she’ll get her to break — HOPEFULLY, it’s today. “You’re missin’ out on all the fun out there, Andie! That boring old classroom isn’t going anywhere. Sure as hell ain’t gonna miss you, either.”
andie laughs, smile bright and wide as she makes to smack at riff’s swat of her own hand, a brief caricature of a physical disagreement. ❛ i do, ❜ she clarifies, laughter coating the words in sugar and sunshine. always this push and pull between friends, neither with particularly ill intent, but difference of opinion. ❛ come on, what’s out there that won’t still be out there in an hour ? ❜ she counters, hip popping out as arms cross defiantly. but it’s all in good fun, blunt swords, nothing meant to really do any damage.
@hawkinsphoto
Eddie leans the side of face against his hand, trying to appear casual to keep from alerting Mrs. Llewellyn to the fact that they’re not exactly drawing a diagram of a plant cell. “I think there needs to be some little encampment here,” he mutters, pointing vaguely at the base of the mountain ridge. With the artistic skills between the two of them, this map for his newest campaign is coming together rather nicely. It should be finished by the end of this period—assuming they don’t get caught. “Whether it’s for the party to use or…” he muses aloud, “someone to ambush them with is my little secret.”
sketch comes easily where he points, raising little houses, tents, and stalls with the tip of her ticonderoga. lucky for them, she had half a plant wall sketched on the actual worksheet that shared their names, even if microscope had been discarded. ❛ bigger ? ❜ she’s just the conduit for his ideas in this capacity, deferring to his ideas with a whisper.
usually her teachers let her get away with doodling — she never really stopped doing it, after all, but both of them ? she’s not so sure. scheming coaxes a little snicker from her, one she’s quick to smother so nobody catches on. ❛ please let it be an ambush, ❜ andie encourages.

gareththegreat ! gar .
he can’t help but let out a lighthearted laugh at her last response, thumb coming up to rub at the side of her cheek bone. he’ll lean forward to kiss her once again, not lingering as long as he pulled away. “i don’t expect anything from you,” his hand falls to his side, a soft sigh leaving him. “we can go whatever pace. we can go as slow as molasses—…” he’ll give a heavy sigh, head tilting to the side. “sorry about–…we can just move slow, okay?”
his name rattled round in her mind, in a permanent echo. andie wanted to lose herself in this moment, even if there was a nagging, more responsible side of her insisting on something slow. ❛ okay, ❜ she offers meagerly, though agreement was simple. fingers wander, brushing hair away from his face as her brow comes to rest against his. ❛ thanks, gar, ❜ she murmurs, dark sweet eyes falling to his quite irresistible mouth. ❛ i just dont want to mess anything up. ❜ she steals a peck from him. ❛ ya know ? ❜
diaboluse ! matt murdock .
his hands splay out across the thick card stock, feeling every groove of woven paper and streaks of lead. he finds the flow of hair and the curve of a nose and a jaw before the drawing falls into obscurity in his mind, the woman’s face twisting until everything is fuzzy. a fond smile graces his features as fingertips move down the drawing. “what does your mom look like?”
he isn’t the best suited to offer an opinion of so much of her art, but she returns, time and again, to hear what he has to say. ❛ she’s — ❜ she was ❛ — beautiful. my dad used to say she looked like everything good. her hair was a little darker than mine, with grays here and there. ❜ andie stops herself, swallowing thick emotion that threatens to spill. ❛ she always looked purposeful, like wherever she was, she belonged. you know ? ❜
sucksahoy ! robin .
there’s something about andie’s laugh that brings her smile pulling brighter . it’s a sound that puts her on top of the world and has her heart skipping a beat , anxiety pooling in the pit of her stomach as she prays to the universe that the other can’t sense it . she’s not ready to explain any of that . she’s not ready to lose her . ❝ good to know some things never change . i was gonna be real worried if tommy suddenly became a genius . we’d have to call the fbi or whoever checks to make sure there’s nothing in the water . ❞ a laugh of her own fades far too quickly and brows pinch , lips slipping to a slight frown . ❝ you make it sound like we’re all going to die when we step off the graduation stage . ❞
chin remains anchored to shoulder a few moments more, taking advantage of their proximity, something that could be written off as a platonically intimate gesture, rather than anything else. ❛ wouldn’t put it past this town to have something like that happen — tommy replaced by his terminator version... ❜ she pauses, stitching the words together. ❛ tommy...nator — ... ? ❜ soft chuckle finally separates her and she comes to lean back instead, fingers toying softly with a bracelet, hooked in and tugging along the circumference. ❛ i don’t think it’s going to be that bad, i just — ❜ gaze wanders, as if the backdrop would present her with the right words. ❛ it’s like we leave a version of us behind once we graduate. we can never get back to that, you know ? ❜ a shrug and a hand brush away the words. ❛ anyway, a few months out from anything that crazy. ❜
withink ! ricky munson .
ricky’s expression softens at her words. they seem genuine enough. but these days, he’s less trusting, less open.
“ good, ” is all he can muster in response, wringing his hands for a moment before taking a few steps away from the group. he gestures for the girl to join him.
once they’re out of earshot, he takes a deep breath and opens his mouth to speak, sheepishly offering a hand for her to shake, “ ricky munson, and you are –– ? ”
he couldn’t have chosen a more awkward way to come clean, but it felt right in the moment. he smiles at the girl, hopeful he hasn’t just made a massive mistake.
fingers resume their fiddling, this time opting to spin the ring on her index finger: a thin band she’d made herself in the metalworking elective she’d taken the previous year.
andie isn’t one to want to follow such a hateful group of people, so when kind stranger offers his brief company, she complies, falling into step with him, letting the steaming heat of anger get a head start.
and the pieces click together. munson. she nods. smile is a hair delayed but bright as ever and she gives a polite shake in greeting. ❛ andie carver — no, uh, relation to the golden boy, though. carver like dr. carver at hawkins memorial. ❜
theguilt ! steve harrington .
steve’s dad wasn’t the kind of guy who made him lunches. hell, he wasn’t the kind of guy that was around very much (he had a childhood nurtured on business trips and a random carousel of nannies, which is conveniently where today’s lunch had come from). he doesn’t mind that empty house feeling, though– he likes it better when it’s quiet there. sometimes, his mother will wander in from whatever vacation she had taken. last night, they sat on the couch and burned through a backlog of who wants to be a millionaire? episodes while he painted her nails … he wouldn’t tell that to anyone, though. and he was so off topic. ‘‘ it’s not silly, come on. ’’ he has little sandwich squares that he rips bites out of (there’s some fancy sauce on them that he can’t pronounce).
he was right; it was far from silly. that weight — the familiar weight she’d carried since her mother breathed her last breath settled back over her, threatening to choke her, rob her lungs of their breath, clenches throat as it always does: the promise of tears. but he’s asking — and she doesn’t feel embarrassed. not yet, at least. maybe she could tell him. knees to chest, chin rests atop peaks, gazing at nothing in particular as emotion begins to well. maybe he wouldn’t like her after, but she could say them. ❛ i — - ❜ she stammers. ❛ i’m so sad. ❜ she chuckles, the sound somber and bereaved, casting him a look. it felt ridiculous. ❛ i don’t — sometimes, i think i’ll never be happy again. ❜ and who wanted to be friends with a girl like that ? a black hole of a girl.
❛ you know i can’t come with you, ❜ she informs @horrifiez warmly. ❛ some of us have class. ❜ it’s an easy tease, one meant with no ill intent, simply an observation. ❛ if you wait ‘till two i’ll come with you, ❜ andie offers, extending pinky. ❛ promise. ❜

let’s have a fresh starter call ! hit the ♡
sucksahoy ! robin .
she can’t help but blush , cheeks warming as she watches the other scribble on the communal note . she’s sure it’s nothing , sure that the slight excitement burning in the pit of her chest is unwarranted , but the attention is still nice . maybe she’s not such a pariah after all . it’s a nice thought . lips curl into a shy grin as she takes the scrap from andrea . nose crinkles in delight at the words before lips purse and she scribbles back . depends. got an idea ? she stares a moment too long at the paper before adding her own smiley and sliding it back to the other .
there was a little too much electricity charged in that little slip of paper. too much electricity in the minuscule brush of fingertips as note was passed back and forth. once it’s returned, she takes a beat to make sure their teacher wasn’t paying attention before smile spread as gaze traces words — she can’t hold it back. pencil begins writing, pauses, and finishes her message: craving a trip to the movies. popcorn. wanna go ? it could be platonic, right ? it also very much could not be, and she’d be showing her hand. eraser touches lined paper before she glances at the clock. class — and day — nearly over, she decides, fuck it, and hands the paper back.
gareththegreat ! gare .
“sounds like a load of bullshit to me–….” yeah, it sucked. andie was going to go off without him to college and he was going to be stuck in this hell. suddenly slacking off his sophomore year & ignoring summer school didn’t seem like such a great idea after all. not that he knew what he planned to do after school. hell, he didn’t have much of a plan but he absolutely knew that he had no interest in college. he tried not to think about the future too much which was probably going to be his downfall. “andie, the pinky promise is sacred. if i were to go against it? my pinky would fall off.”
the situation was kind of shit. had it been up to her she would have just towed gareth with her wherever she went — but even andie knew that wasn’t fair to him. gareth could hardly be convinced on his good days, and the last thing she wanted was to make him do something he didn’t want to. she knew he might — for her sake. his grin, that smile — she matches the bright ray of sunshine directed toward her. ❛ good — mess up your drumming and remind you how important promises are every time you play a set, ❜ she teases, brows raising as if matter-of-factly, though there is hardly any ill intent. foot gives a friendly nudge to his knee. ❛ speaking of, when’s corroded coffin playing next ? ❜
Intense joy is somewhat like pain, she thought. Or like a dizzy spell. Strangely, it was not unlike grief.

laughter sounds easily, the sound bright, carving a sliver of light in the otherwise darkened room, night cradling the two young women gently in tender embrace. film flickered on the screen, popcorn strewn about, and half-eaten snacks littered the rest of the available surfaces. fingers raked gently through @reignedchime ‘s inky locks, chasing the lines left behind from hairbrush — brush that had long ago detangled any knots. now, this was an indulgence. ❛ all of these jokes are so cheesy, ❜ andie comments. a beat. ❛ honestly, i kind of love it. ❜
