Canonical Author - Edith Tiempo
Edith L. Tiempo was a Filipino poet, writer, teacher, and literary critic. She is my favorite canonical author because, based on what I’ve gathered, her poems sounds extraordinary and magnificent. Her poems are intricate verbal transfigurations of significant experiences as revealed, in two of her much anthologized pieces, “Halaman” and “Bonsai.” Her works will truly inspire anyone who wants to be poet someday.
Authors who has the ability to inspire, are authors who are great. That’s why I think Edith L. Tiempo is a superb author, writer, teacher, and literary critic.
INFORMATION OVERLOAD is a barrier of communication. Listening is a process, and our brains need time to encode, decode, and understand the knowledge that is given. Too much information can be intimidating to us and it might be reason to not understand anything at all. I chose this symbol because being overloaded with information is TIRING. It may lead us to not understanding the message, or not listening altogether.
I am (a FIGURATIVE biopoem)
Hayle
An optimist
Sibling of hope and strength,
lover of faith and luck,
who fears friends who pretend,
who gives light when you're stuck.
Who needs positive people,
who would like to see negativity away.
Resident of Happiness Hall.
Near
Rose with Thorns (a shakespearean poem)
How beautiful that thing is.
How eager I want to touch.
But my hands and the rose kissed;
then I bled and it just watched.
.
I still want that flower, though.
Yet I know it can't be mine.
That rose now became a foe.
I need to accept it, fine.
.
There are a lot of flowers,
blooming here in our world.
That rose is only the first,
But I think I found the worst.
.
What I have to say, please catch:
That flower still dies untouched.
Floral (a diamond poem)
flowers,
happy, carefree
living, relaxing, laughing
blooming, blossoming, bright, beautiful
attracting, satisfying, amazing
girly, pretty
pink
Blossom (a haiku)
Like flower, she blooms.
Not knowing that in the end;
Like flower, she dies.
