Hayley: Coming!
“You won tickets? I wish I could win tickets, that would honestly be one of my luckiest days. - Oh, why didn’t you like it exactly?”
“Yeah, some radio giveway thing, was a pretty lucky day. Too many people and to much mud.”
@HayleyMeyers: RT @saminthecity: the musical episode of greys :') i love this more than anything in the world.
“Well after wrestling with myself for twenty minutes, I’ve come to the conclusion that the bra gets stuck under my shoulder blades. Like the material doesn’t stretch over them. So maybe if I stick my arms up and you pull? I’ll cover my nipples as soon as I can, I swear.”
“I can do that, don’t fret about the nipples I’ve seen plenty before. Unless you’re super worried about it, I’m not.”
“What are the chances, right? By all means, laugh at me. Who has this happen to them, honestly? This is totally a laugh-at-you moment.”
“So, how do you want to go about this? I avoid sports bras like the plague so I’m not entirely sure of the best solution to this.”
“Some of the music seemed bad. As I said, I only watched the Snapchat story so I didn’t see all of the music acts. Not everyone seemed to wear flowercrowns. It’s not the same though. Have you ever been to a music festival?”
“I won tickets to Coachella one year, it wasn’t as great as I imagined it was going to be. Never went again though, those tickets are insanely expensive.”
“My bad. The thought just popped into my head I guess. Oh no, I wouldn’t go just to be classified as sexy. If anything I would be going for the music. It was more that everyone there looked really good, you know?”
“I thought that you said the bands were bad? They look good because of excellent lensflare and sun tan. Throw a flowercrown on your head and walk out into the sun, you’ll be halfway there.”

Noelle: Yeah? I've got plenty of it. Come on over whenever you want!
Hayley: I will be there once this piece of junk elevator decides to arrive.

Noelle: i'll pay you in pizza to come hang out with me. or five dollars. that's all i've got :/
Hayley: Pizza is fine, that's all I need.
“My plan was to actually just lay here until guys came along that looked strong enough to help me get this puppy up to my apartment. I dragged this thing all the way from down the street. Less you want to try and help me? I’m just going to stay curled up here with this giant panda that smells oddly like cotton candy.”
“Dare I ask where you found the panda?”
“I’m so relieved that you’re home….-I need your help. Keep in mind I wouldn’t be asking if it weren’t a necessity. You’re going to see nipple. I can’t get this new sports bra off myself and I really don’t want to cut it, ‘cause I want to get my money back by returning it and I can’t do that if it’s cut down the center. God, I hate myself for this.”
“You’re stuck in a sports bra? I’m happy to help but know that once this is done I will most likely laugh at you.”
“So I’m super bummed that I didn’t get to go to Coachella and I wish that I could go one year. I actually spent this weekend watching the snapchat story and I have to admit, some of the music I wasn’t a fan of this year but some of the outfits were so good! Some wear, uh, but damn some people just looked bangin’. How does one become sexy anyway? They all made it look so effortless. Is being sexy something that can be taught or?“
“That spiel just took a really strange turn. Not sure about the answer to your question, but I don’t think that attending Coachella is the way to become sexy.”
“Tonight will be the first night I’ve actually stayed indoors in three days, I don’t have work tomorrow so I’m just going to plant myself on my couch and attempt to watch House of Cards for the fourth time, let me guess, you’re doing something completely crazy and fun that I’m going to be jealous of, right?”
“Nope, I’m working. The joys of being a bartender, I just watch the completely crazy people.”
“No, I’m fine.” He skimmed over his essay. “I think I’m just finishing up now; I don’t want to over stay my welcome.”
She shrugged as he turned down her offer and began to get herself some juice. “Eh, doesn’t bother me, stay as long as you want.”
“Turns out havin’ a bum one is, too.” Malcolm submits dryly. It’s the reason he’s here, living on the cusp of poverty–all said and done his cumulative medical debt is more than what most people pay for a large luxury home in the suburbs. “I could probably swap out the hardware for ya’ if it’s not totally custom. Won’t do much for the sizin’, but should correct the joint issues. Wouldn’t be more than a few bucks worth of bolts and washers. Matter of fact, I could probably raid the repair shop at the dealership where I work, they’ve got all that stuff there and the mechanics don’t mind.” As if on cue, the elevator slows to a rickety stop at the seventh floor and the doors creak open. “My stop,” He murmurs with a nod toward the hall. “–Apartment 700, if you wanna’ take me up on the offer. Think about it.” Mal offers a little smile, turning to head out of the elevator.
As a child Hayley managed to get prosthetics from a local charity but that help petered out as she got older and eventually it stopped altogether. As he spoke about being able to give it a service her face lit up, “that would be amazing,” she said with a big grin. She’d tried to get herself on a trial for a new fancy type of prosthetic but she hadn’t qualified and her frustration with the piece of junk was beginning to get to her. She nodded as he said that they’d reached his floor, “I certainly will, thanks,” she said as he left the elevator.
“It’s probably a very wise idea to stay at least ten feet away from me at all times,” Jax smirked a little. “Yeah, they are. I fucking hate them.”
“Noted,” Hayley said with a laugh, “I’ve never been into that mushy stuff.”
There’s a smile tugging at the corner of his lips; slowly pulling over his face as though fighting for real-estate where the rent is a bit too high. “But you could,” He echoes, and there’s something undeniably wistful in his tone. There isn’t much Malcolm wouldn’t give for the chance to run again, but the notion that not everyone shares the sentiment is difficult for him to grasp. “–What’s wrong with it? I mean; I’m no prosthetic technician, but I’m pretty handy with a wrench and a can of WD-40 if you’re in a pinch.”
She nodded as he spoke wistfully, “I could,” she honestly thought he’d made a mistake choosing his leg over his health but she wasn’t about to vocalise that thought, Hayley knew that she’d rather have a metallic leg than one that didn’t work. “I’ve had it since I was fourteen so it’s a little too short but that’s the least of my worries, the knee joint is completely bust, doesn’t have the same flexibility but you’re welcome to inspect it. Turns out that missing a leg is expensive.”
