“I have army training, not as much as my brothers though. I’m not in the field, they think I’m not mentally or physically capable. They underestimate me, it makes it easier for me to snoop around. I’m a paralegal, it’s what I do.” Cas gave a little shrug and rubbed his nose with the back of his hand then went back to writing.
“I’m also the one that has to make coffee all the time.” He set the notepad down on the table and took one of the plain frosted doughnuts. It wasn’t his favorite but it was still better than the awful jelly-filled ones his mother liked. Despite knowing how weird he might look, he started looking around Cosima’s lab, admiring the overall atmosphere of the lab. He hated the strange chemical smell that always lingered in doctor’s offices and labs, but otherwise it was a pleasant place to be. Anything was more pleasant than the base and the little base infirmary. He had to enjoy this change of scenery and interaction while he could. Nodding to himself, he quietly focused his attention back on Cosima, hoping he hadn’t seemed too uninterested in her.
cosima read over the words, carefully reading them so she wouldn’t say something to upset him. if sarah knew that she was talking to a castor clone, being nice to one----well cosima could think of a few things that sarah would say. sure they’re a long way from sarah just telling her to stick to the science, but there are times where her sister in question gets quite protective. cosima might be the older clone, at least by her data, she’s not the one in charge, that would be sarah. but cosima knows she doesn’t have to tell her sister everything.
cas hasn’t acted hostile, not in the least bit, so cosima tried to stay as even-keeled as possible. she munched on her donut, thinking about her response carefully.
