I just told her Iām allergic to hazelnuts. #thisdog
Guess where I am with this dog?
She thinks Iām her Uber driver.
This dog.
Waiting for the rinse cycle to finish. This dog.
Ritual Sunday morning hikes with this dog.
She is queen of the rock. This is the only time she gets to run free unleashed and she lets her tongue out and her tail wag as she poses in the winds at the top of Goat Hill.
She could sell dog food, this dog.
Myself, on the other hand, cannot seem to edit this photo to make myself look like I am looking anywhere but right at the camera. Like some awkward weirdo. Like the dog sitting next to me.Ā
Hiking with This dog always ends in the mud.Ā
Who unrolls toilet paper under the coffee table and onto the couch?
This dog.Ā

Day one of the end of my freedom
This dog.
Even now, I struggle to type this post for a blog to vent about this dog. Hazelnut, a 55 pound cruzian mutt whom I rescued from the animal shelter in St. Croix, USVI. I remember looking online at the pictures of dogs up for adoption and seeing her photo.
Look at those hind legs! Talk about knee valgus. This dog needed me. A trained physical therapist who would rehab her to walking like all her other four legged canines. Okay, truth, I saw the photo and thought, āthis dog looks awkward and the poor thing is named snuggleā. We are perfect for each other.
I go to the shelter and they take me back to the medium size dogs. There she is. This dog. Lying down, looking up, and peering into my soul. I did the sensible thing and test walked all the other dogs just in case I found one I like better. I kept going back to her. She wouldnāt jump up or try to get my attention, she would just lie there and again, peirce my soul with those brown eyes.
I mean, just look at this pup-parazzi photo they took of her. (I think they photoshopped her hind legs)
Snuggle. I believe she was full aware that big changes were in her future. She would have a home to call her own. LIttle did I know, my home was about to be owned by this dog. She was here to stay, but her name had to go.
Snuggle, to be confused with a lazy nap loving puppy - This dog
