I LOVE this campaign. I cannot even begin to tell you how much! It makes me so envious of everyone who can draw and create magnificent works of art. INCREDIBLE. I am so happy to see GreenPeace doing something that is a little unexpected. Rather than going for sympathy, this campaign tackles something deeper. T
Interesting. This ad definitely pushes the envelope and gets your attention, but is it effective? I read the headline then the ad lost my attention while I was looking at the picture...
I have always told people I was born to have a dog. This just solidifies my dream! Beyond adorable!
YOU, are what American society has come to.
You can understand why I am so upset after seeing my last post.
I have never seen this video before today. I know very little about M.I.A. This video really hit me hard. Does dramatizing oppression on a under recognized ethnic group open our eyes to problems in society?
Paolo Ventura’s haunting dioramas
How can people sit in cities while amazing things are sitting waiting to be seen?
9117: Some things are meant to live forever.
You try to remember everything you can, until you realize you can't remember any more. You remember the way it felt to walk into your house after a long day at school, the way it smells the way your mom greets you in the kitchen the way the sun reflects shades of pink on the rug and on the walls. The same sun that fueled your dance parties when you were left home alone. The light that paired perfectly with your music, your voice singing to the music. You go upstairs and find you room in the center of the hallway. The room that hides so much of who you are. If it were a person it would be your soulmate. It knows everything about you. It changes with you. You paint it decorate it, it is a reflection of you. You now every corner of that room. You know where you drew on the walls because you could, you know where you can hide in it, even when there are no obvious hiding spot. You know what the carpet feels like against you skin, it is harsh against your check. You can read the bumps on the walls. You know what hung in the holes. You know the piece of earth you can see through the window, perfectly. The backyard, ditch that separates you from your neighbors, your dad's garden hugging the ditch. The tree that covered the swing, the big tree on the mound. You know the sky. You know what that chunk of sky looks like in the winter, summer, during a storm, in the black of night. That window is the your world, It is in your dreams and ingrained into your head. You know what it feel like to leave your room and hang over the balcony into the living room. The living room where you would hear the piano resonate in the air and into your room. The same piano and living room that made you feel so powerful. The piano you could hear down the street on a summer day when the house was open and outside the window when the house is closed. The piano you grew up on in the house you grew up in. You think of one hundred other memories while writing this. Memories grow out of each other. I am going to start recording a memory or a group of memories every day. Some things are meant to live forever.
Cold hard plastic.
I was always off in my own litte world as a kid. I am not sure if I had trouble deciphering reality from fantasy, or if I just preferred fantasy to reality; but I was always daydreaming about something or another. I remember being extremely fascinated with McDonald's toys. I always all the toys in the latest collection. The way they showed the kids playing with them, and creating a world inside their world for them. The toys seemed so magical probably because they were for the latest movie. For me, the McDonalds toys were a way for me to be in the movie. I remember getting older and realizing the toys were hunks of plastic that came with instructions. The magic was gone. I remember getting rid of the boxes of toys I collected over the years. I cannot remember what age I was, but it was the moment I started developing a media literacy. I put the puzzle pieces together. Toys are just plastic and an ad's purpose is to make money.
What an inspirational night.
