Edenai: Bronze Award Part B - Film Review

What did I experience as an audience member?

As an audience member, I watched the film ‘Avengers: Endgame’. I experienced the excitement of all the avengers teaming up all over again after “infinity war”. Infinity war is a movie about an evil alien named ‘Thanos’ who is looking for the infinity stones so that he gets the power to wipe out 50% of all living creatures in the universe and the Avengers (a group of superheroes) are trying to stop him.

What did I like best and why?

My two favourite scenes were the final battle and the part where they have to time travel to get all the infinity stones back. The reason why I loved the final battle was because it was cool seeing this avenger’s team that was not actually the avengers, but all the marvel characters together.

What do I think could have been done better? I think they should have thought of which of the avengers they were going to take out a bit more because some characters would be better for the part of the movie when they have the left-over avengers from “infinity war” and try to make something big out of it. Although, I did think that Spider-Man, Doctor Strange and some of the “Guardians” of the galaxy, were a good team even though they did not really know each other that well. There were some actors that I did not want to be blipped because I thought they could have done a better story if they switched the actors that were blipped.

What artforms were involved? The way they showed Hulk as not so aggressive anymore was very creative and gave a great amount of impact on how the audience viewed him. Also, a lot in the script and the camera movement was very intense and unexpected in a way. The fact that Hulk could not create the time machine, but Stark could, it showed the difference in intellect of the two completely different characters. One of my favourites scenes was when Thanos was attacking (around the end of the movie) and sent all of his weird four-legged creatures in to attack the Avengers and it was dark and even though that scene happens a lot in other movies, it really stood out from all of them because you did not know what was going to happen next or if Thanos would come in the tunnel with the creatures or later into the movie. The camera movement when the Thanos ships arrived, how they got the whole ship in the camera was good and the detail in Thano’s minions is very good and makes it look real even though I think they are puppets who control it electrically. Another art form is when Wanda is trying to destroy the soul stone so that Thanos does not get it, Thanos uses the time stone to get the soul stone back and the effect on him and his veins is always cool and never gets old.

Would I recommend it to others and why? I would recommend it to others because it has very good reviews and in my opinion, (and millions more) I think it is a nice way of showing that all the cool separate movies like ant-man, captain America, black panther etc., are all in the same universe of movies.

MY PLAN

What art skill would you like to share and how am I going to do it?

I am going to show my siblings how to use an IPhone 6s to take photos of myself and others in the local area. I will show them how to crop and use filters on snapchat.

What practice or preparation are you going to do?

I will practice the basics of the phone. I will also try to learn some new skills as well.

I am going to need my phone, and the editing function on the phone,

How are you going to make it fun and interesting?

Aya: Bronze Award Part B - Film Review

What are you reviewing: 

I will be reviewing the latest movie that came out a few weeks ago called Fast and Furious directed by Justin Lin. I watched the film at home because we were in lockdown.

What did you like best and why?

To be honest I liked basically everything about the movie and all the action bits were my favourite part because they made me really excited to find out what would happen next. My favourite bit was where the main character was in a tower, and he pulled some bars down and the building collapsed. I got scared because I thought he had died but he hadn't. I liked how the actors stayed in character, and there was a lot of tension. 

What art-forms are involved: 

There was obviously lots of acting and good makeup effects to make everything look real. Lastly there were lots of cameras that were used because they needed to capture every angle of the actress where they were acting.

What do you think they could've done better: 

1: The ending could have been much better because all the characters just sat down and were celebrating that they had survived and it was boring. 

2: The movie could have been a bit longer

3: They could have made the beginning more clear, because the main character had a brother and I didn’t understand that the brother was against him.

Would you recommend it to others:

Yea definitely. And only because I know my friends love action movies and all the tension there is so this would be the perfect movie for them and I know they would love it just as much I did.

What have other people said about it: 

I've heard that this movie is a very interesting one and it's great for people who love action movies. However, on IMDB which is a movie database, https://www.imdb.com/title/tt5433138/  it has been rated 5.5/10 which means it isn’t so popular!

Aya: Bronze Award - Part C Arts Inspiration

My Arts Inspiration

I chose this artist called Boubou design, born in 1993, aged 26 from Dakar Senegal. The reason I chose this  artist is because of the creativity he has and he shows that you don't always need expensive or artistic tools.

Why they inspire me

They inspire me  because he can paint with anything he lays his hands on. such as a shoe,weights,balls and so many unimaginable tools.He also paints with his eyes closed and once upside down.He personally inspires me because he makes so many things with  aisically and i'm so impressed about how creative he is and how many ideas he can come up with.

What they make and do and how

They paint different portraits of his family and friends such as famous people such as Neymar, Donald trump,Rihanna,The Rock and so many more people using his talent in painting. The tools he uses are basically everything and like I said he uses basically anything he lays his hands on.

What other people think of their work: 

People find It so fascinating and interesting that he's such a talented artist. Also how he has so much patience and inner peace. Some people think he's crazy, a magician, the world's best painter/artist, mind-blowing and even fake!

What I like about their work:

I love the way he uses things beyond his imagination. He has so much creativity in him. And he has so many possibilities with his talent in paint.I love his passion In art and I wish in the future to become like him.  A quote he said was: "Art is my life." He also paints following the events and news that happened around the world such as: the fire in Australia, the death of Maradona and  the non-respect political speech in Senegal.

What have you found out about their career and technique:

Originally from Senegal. He started his career as a street painter, but then went to art school where he learnt skills in painting. He became famous on social media. His portraits of celebrities made him most famous.

Aya: Bronze Award Part A - Take Part

Describe what arts activity you took part in

I took part in an online filmmaking project with HCA, with 5 other young people. It happened over 10 weeks, and we looked at shot types, creating a 5 shot film, we made news reports, developed characters, and played film games. 

These are photos I took of my sibling on the project, using different angles, a day in the life of my sibling. 

Here I made a 5-shot film with my brother. I filmed my brother on my phone, I told him what angle I was going to do each time, to tell a story. The film had to feature a sock!

What did you learn and why?

I learnt how to capture the right shots and angles when when making a film or taking any ordinary picture. It helped me a lot with filming techniques such as shot types (Extreme Close up, Close Up, Dutch Tilt). This project definitely boosted my self confidence and helped me understand all the importance of photography.

I learnt how to collaborate with people, and improved my confidence talking to others. I also learnt about performing.

List at least three things you enjoyed

I enjoyed collaborating with people because it was lockdown and it was nice to see people

I enjoyed taking pictures because that’s what I do every day anyway and I like it

I enjoyed doing the news reports and acting because it gave me an experience of what doing an actual news report would be like

This is us playing a storytelling game where one person starts and the next says another line of the story.

Describe what arts skills you improved on

I improved my filming skills by improving on my shot types and all types of angles. I learnt how to use the tablet to take photos and video and this helped me because I can now use any angle I can think of without looking funny. I also learnt how to do some editing using the tablet that had a special app that taught me how to use all the editing tools.

Edenai: Bronze Award Part D - Arts Skill Share

Plan:

What art skill would you like to share?

A skill that I would like to share is Audio recording. I have been participating in a workshop the past 7-8 weeks and I have been learning how to record the vibration of water or surfaces e.g., metal. I have been recording myself telling a story of objects in Two Temple Place that I thought was significant. One example of a story that recorded was about a figure of a lion in the middle of a heater. I talked about its meaning and why it was made the way it was. The skill that I would like to share is audio recording using ‘REAPER’.

How am I going to do it?

I will be using the app ‘REAPER’ to edit and record myself and the vibrations or sounds that other objects make. I’m going to show my mum the various items in ‘REAPER’

What practice or preparation are you going to do?

At the sound workshop it was fun to throw the hydrophone into the water and listen to the sound waves that are being recorded by our water microphone (the hydrophone). This was practice for the real recording that we are going to do. But it wasn’t just practice, it was also collecting sounds to use in our recordings.

I will have the laptop charged and rehearse what I will say.

How are you going to make it fun and interesting?

There is a website called ‘BBC sound mixture’ which has loads of interesting sounds like when I did my recording about the lion on the heat railing, I had a recording of a lion roaring in the background. It was and will be very fun to listen to the different sounds that the BBC has recorded and edit them so that they fit perfectly with the recording of me talking about the lion.

What will success look like?

I think that success will look like a ready recording with another bar of recording which was originally separate but must be relevant to the topic. It must also be edited right so that there are no ‘Uhm’ in the speech. The volume must be correctly balanced and the recording from the BBC must not overpower the speech. Also having my mum understand and know how to use ‘Reaper’ in the end.

My Review:

What went well?

We did a very good edit with the audio and the are no ‘Uhms’ in the speech. We found sound from the BBC sounds mixture that are related to the thing that I am talking about. We used a wolf howling, a fire roaring, and the sound of birds in a forest to say that the wolf is wild.

Did everything go to plan?

Everything went to plan, and we also got to make it better more detailed sounds to set the scene

What would I do differently?

I could probably redo the audio recording of myself so that its clearer because you can’t do everything just by editing

“It is user friendly and it’s easy enough to use and create audio. Also, with the basics, you can do more than just have a recording, but you can edit it and add a lot more. It has fun using the software and learning all about sounds recordings and editing with Edenai”

Describe what arts activity you are going to take part in: I am going to take part in a 12 week workshop that focuses on audio recording and recording of objects and sound waves from surfaces and even sometimes in water. The workshop is at Two Temple Place.

What did you learn? I learnt how to record myself with a microphone and how to edit it the sound recording with the ‘REAPER’ software. We learnt how to record sounds and voices so that we can put them together when it comes to using ‘REAPER’. 

I learnt that the owner of Two Temple Place used to be the richest man in the whole world and that Two Temple Place, which is four times the size of a normal house, was only his study.

List at least three things you enjoyed: I enjoyed taking the hydrophone and the other microphone that records surfaces and going to the beach to record underwater sounds. I enjoyed having a tour of the building and finding all those secret cupboards where the owner used to keep his money in. I enjoyed finding sounds in the ‘BBC sound mixture’

Describe what arts skills you improved on:

I really improved my knowledge on microphones and how to use ‘REAPER’ software to edit my sound recordings. I found out that you can press ‘s’ to ‘split’ the track and you can also press the square on the top left so that when your delete a bit of the track, the other two bits glue to each other but without the square, they stay apart.

My Arts Inspiration is:

Phillip Reeve the Author of the books: mortal engines; predator’s gold and infernal devices (these are all the ones that I know of).

Why they Inspire me:

He inspires me because his writing is very expressive, and he has been given lots of awards for his books. He uses a lot of techniques like show not tell or cliff hangers and vivid verbs and his books and writing are unique. They also have all these very good plots e.g., mortal engines are where this girl called Hester has an uncomfortable past and meets this bot called Tom that lives in London, but London and all the other cities have turned into a city with wheels, traction cities they call it in the book. So, these two 17-year-old teens are having adventures and fighting these traction city wars. And they also made a movie about it. And all the other books that he wrote are great and have their own plot like Predator’s gold is still based on the girl Hester, an 18 yar old girl, that is now in Predator’s gold. All the books are different. Like how the mortal engines series is set 3,00 years in the future.

What they make and do and how (why not include an example of their work):

He is the author of the books: mortal engines; infernal devices and predator’s gold and other books that are not part of the real story but with the same characters and the same world. He does mostly Science fiction. He uses a lot of techniques when describing the appearance of someone or something and he likes to describe the smells or looks and tastes from his experience or if he ate the food before. To describe, he uses words like: bitter; sweet; uncomfortable taste.

What do others think about their work?: Well, a lot of people adore his books and think he is a great Author and he has been given countless awards for most sold book of the year and things. He is pretty famous but not so famous that people in school talk about him but he is still a very good author.

What I like about their work:

What I like about their work is that he uses all these great techniques e.g.: show not tell; cliff hangers. But also, the way when he is trying to change the scene from one place to another is very cool because he uses words e.g., meanwhile. I also like that he spends a lot of time describing the scene. Like when someone punches, he does not say he punched him, he describes the gesture e.g. “he threw his up to the warm skin of his face, making a red mark knocking him down on the ground”  

What I have found out about their career / technique:

Phillip Reeve has been given the Guardian Children’s book prize. He is the Author of the best-selling, award winning first book of the mortal engine’s series. Philip Reeve published his first mortal engines book in the 6th November of 2001. He was born on the 28th February 1966 and is still alive making more of his good books. His books are normally science fiction. He speaks English and started from 2001 and is still making books.

Syon: Bronze Award Part B - Be The Audience

What did I experience as an audience member? 

I watched the film JoJo Rabbit at home. The film is about a 10 year old German boy called Hitler, and he was sent to a Hitler training camp. He gets injured so gets sent back home and then finds a Jewish person in his house. He has to learn to get a long with them. I experienced a range of emotions such as laughter, sadness and sympathy.

What did I like best and why?

I liked when it shows JoJo’s mother hung dead in the middle of the street  because it really shows the emotion and the sadness and sympathy very well. I liked the way it was filmed slowly, to create a feeling of unease. The first part you only see the mothers shoes, which is the only thing you see throughout, and then it shows the body. It made me realise these things actually happened in real life - it made me think about those who did loose lives in the war.  I really like the style of the director of the movie (Taika Waititi) which is quite comical.

What do I think could have been done better?

I think that if it had more funny bits it would be funny. I think that if Britain won the war instead of changing it to Germany winning the war it would be a bit more true.

My Plan:

What art skill would you like to share?

Video editing with text and music and photo animation. For example filters effects and animations. The first thing I will be showing my mum is how to add text to a video and what animation you want it to be in. The second thing I will show my mum is how to add effects and filters to the video. The final thing I will show my mum is how to animate the photos in the video. By animate I mean the way the photo will bounce or pop in.

How am I going to do it?

I am going to do it by showing my mum different apps of which we will be using. The apps I will be using are Capcut, Funimate and Prequel. I will teach her how to use the features so at the end she can make her own edited video with the features and music she would like to use.

What practice or preparation are you going to do?

I will be showing my mum the app and telling her what it is about and what she can do on it so she is prepared to use it. I will also be preparing the photos, videos and other resources I will need for the editing.

How are you going to make it fun and interesting?

I will make it fun and interesting by letting my mum play and explore with the features so she can have a bit of fun and start getting into it. I will also make it interesting by showing her some previous edited videos i have made so she can see how interesting i find editing.

What will success look like?

My mum will like editing and enjoy her editing experience. She will be able to edit in the ways I taught her.

My Review:

My mum enjoyed editing and would like to do it again. She has successfully made an edit and used a lot of the tools. Although the edit is not professional it is amazing for a starter. “I enjoyed it and would like to do it again”. Next time I would show my mum an example so she knows what it should look like. I think on the whole everything went to plan.

What went well?

Something that went well is that my mum used lots of different tools and effects to make the edit. Another thing is that she asked me questions which shows that she was interested and engaged in the work she was doing.

What would I do differently?

Something I would do differently is give my mum a set of tools to use so it would be easier for her to use the software and she wouldn’t be confused by all the things happening at once.

Overall everything turned out like it should’ve and my mum enjoyed it

What are you reviewing:

I will be reviewing the movie High School musical 1 starring: Zac Efron and Vanessa Hudgens. The plot of the movie is; Troy Bolton, the star athlete at his high school, falls for Gabriella Montez at a holiday karaoke party. When they return to school Troy and Gabriella audition for the school musical. Meanwhile, the jealous Sharpay Evans conspires to break up their relationship and squash their chances of taking her and her brother’s roles in the play. The two must struggle to make it to auditions while also meeting their existing obligations to the basketball team and the academic decathlon.

What did you like best and why?

The thing I liked most is that no matter what Sharpay said or did to break them up, Gabriella and Troy would always stay together. I also liked the music and songs they made because each song had a different style of music.

What art-forms are involved: 

Singing, dancing, music, acting, song writing, filming, lights, special effects, Costumes, hair and makeup.

What do you think they could've done better:

I think they could’ve added more singing scenes with Gabriella and Troy because they are the main characters so it would make sense if they had more scenes doing what they enjoy together.

Would you recommend it to others:

I would recommend it to others because it is a movie with different genres. I would recommend it to people who like romance, music/musicals and happy movies.

What have other people said about it:

What infuses this movie with much of its spunk are Efron's and Hudgens' lively performances; both come across as friendly, well-adjusted, and immensely likable. Full review

My arts inspiration is: Millie Bobby Brown.

They inspire me because: 

They act not just with emotion but also with characteristics that include changing their accent. That helps a lot because it makes the movie or series seem more realistic. Another reason it is helpful is because it can help you when doing comedy shows for example because you can change your accent to make it seem funnier. It is also a skill in life that is just fun to do.

What they do and how: 

Millie Bobby Brown is an actress. She mainly acts in movies, series such as stranger things, and on TV. She is more into acting on screen and TV. Millie Bobby Brown has said that she is not much of a method actor so we don’t really know her secret to acting yet. She is also an influencer on tiktok and has her own beauty line. Unfortunately she has quit tiktok due to the hate she was getting. Another thing that she does is make scenes seem very realistic and change her accent. These are 2 skills that will improve your acting greatly.

What other people think about their work: 

People think she makes everything seem real but recently people have been thinking about her for something else. She has just released a new beauty line but people think it may be a scam and fake. This is one of the reasons she has quit tiktok. The young actress was a very successful girl and actress with upto 17.6 million followers before she quit. She had many supporters but with supporters come haters. She unfortunately could not deal with all the hate but is still happy and working hard.

What I like about their work: 

I like how she acts like whatever she’s acting is real because it makes it very realistic. I also like how she can change her personality when acting because it lightens the mood in tense and sad or angry scenes. I also like how they not only act but also take part in helping people because Millie Bobby Brown has also achieved her goal of being a goodwill ambassador for UNICEF.

What I have found out about their career or technique: 

Her technique is not using method acting but pretending it is really happening to her. Millie Bobby Brown is 17 years old now in 2021. She was born in Marbella, Malaga, Andalucia, Spain.

Millie Bobby Brown started acting in 2013 in shows including Grey's Anatomy and NCIS but she only played small background roles. Her biggest role was as eleven in Stranger things Which is a science fiction drama series. She has gone from background roles to acting in famous series and even having her own beauty line. She now knows many famous singers, rappers, actors, dancers and artists.

Ailyn: Bronze Part A - Take Part

Describe what arts activity you are going to take part in:

I took part in a 3D design project with Chloe and Jonathan from HCA where we were making our own 3D interactive games with a story to it. I made 2 dimensions of which you could switch/teleport between. For one of my dimensions I put some children who were turned into animals by a witch who were teleported to a space room. The other dimension was a dragon trying to get past a large stone wall. The 2 doors i used to teleport were rainbows as i thought it would go well with the magical, mystical fantasy i came up with.

What did you learn?

I learnt how to use a new software called cospaces which is where I made my 3D design project. I also learnt a lot about coding including how to teleport to and from settings and change the appearance of different sprites (characters). Another thing I learnt is how to use and adapt to new websites as I would normally use scratch for new projects and coding but by using new websites I have learnt new skills. I also learnt how to work in groups for example brainstorming for ideas we could all use. Learning how to make games and put a story to it was very exciting as it was interesting and intriguing to play a game with a storyline.

Creating a new world

Creating new characters and bringing them to life by using emotion and actions

Describe what arts skills you improved on:

I think I have improved on my coding, Designing and using the website skills. I have improved in designing the characters such as what they were, their colour and their size. Something that helped me improve was the first thing we did which was an all about me board. I think that helped me because it made me learn a bit about the software we used before we started the project. It helped me by teaching me how to add characters and how to add or change a text.

How are you going to do it: 

I am going to film all the clips on my won and then I am going to walk my mother through how I edit and let her edit some of the parts.

How are you going to make it fun and interesting: 

I am going to make it a fun comedy movie so that she will find it amusing. I will also let her edit any bit that she would like to edit so that she will see what it is like to edit a film.

What practice or preparation are you going to do: 

I am going to make an idea for a movie and I am going to look at what part of the app I will be using.

What will success look like:

I think that success will be when my mum is not getting stuck, being understanding with it and being able to use the software to its full extent.

My Review:

What went well?

I think that showing my mother each step clearly and taking it slow when necessary went well because then she could understand it better. I also think that making it entertaining and that she was enjoying it went well too.

Did everything go to plan?

Everything did go to plan since I did successfully show my mother how to edit a movie and she did not struggle in the process.

What should I do differently?

I think that if I am slightly more straight forward and I prepare my mother for what we will be doing then maybe I will be more successful the next time I show someone the process of making a movie.

My mums feedback:

‘Syon’s explanation about editing his video was outstanding as I didn’t have a clue about how to edit a video at all. Not only did he explain very clearly and fluently, but also showed me while he was editing in different parts of the film. He allowed me to experiment on the video which made understanding the process easier. Syon is a wonderful teacher and I am proud of his hard work.’

Syon: Bronze Award Part C - Arts Inspiration

My arts inspiration is: 

Daft Punk

Why they inspire me: 

Daft Punk are musicians from the 1990s. They inspire me because they have a very distinctive style of music. They also inspire me to explore more genres of music. They also inspire me to make my own music.

What they make, do and how: 

They used to make electro dance music. Sometimes their music is dance music, rock music, pop music and Jazz music. They use a Roland Jupiter-6 which is an analogue mixer to make their music.

What do other people think about their work: 

People like that they are extremely versatile. They also like that their style of Music changes and evolves E.G Jazz Funk Rock Pop. This article shows how fans reacted to Daft Punk announcing that they were going to break up. It is clear to say that they were devastated at the news.

What I like about their work: 

I like their type of music and how they like to stay very anonymous. I like their style of clothing and helmets and how their looks have adapted over the years. 

What I have found out about their career and technique: 

I have found out that their names are guy and Thomas and that they started their band in 1993 and they also don’t talk through their helmets ever. Their music has featured in movies such as TRON Legacy and Interstellar 5555

Syon: Bronze Award Part A - Take Part

Describe your activity: 

I joined the online Spring Film Project with Chloe and Jack at HCA. And I went through a journey of film making. We made a range of different movies using different styles. The project lasts for 10 weeks. 

Here is a still from one of the news report we made. Here I am acting as a mad scientist.

What did you learn: 

I learnt how to play 2 characters in one film. I learnt different shot types such as, close up, dutch tilt, wide angle, low and high angle. I learnt how to film scenes better with a camera. I learnt how to shoot a news report.

Here is a 5-shot film I made

Here we were playing camera consequences, where one person starts the story and the next person says the next line of the story. 

Here we are playing Director Says, the leader would tell us what shot type we had to do, and then we would do that shot type on Zoom by getting closer to the camera or further away. This was an extreme closeup.

I also made a review on my stunt scooter explaining the looks of it and showing some of the tricks that I’ve learned.

List 3 things that you enjoyed: 

I enjoyed making movies with everyone, building my confidence on camera and games. I also enjoyed choosing different outfits.  I overall enjoyed this project a lot and I will be film making in my spare time.

Describe what art skills you improved on: 

I improved on my confidence on camera, because I practiced off camera so when it came to performing in front of camera I was better. I improved on my script writing skills, by taking my time writing, and learning from other people about script writing, like learning how to imagine a characters personality and what they look like. I improved on filming clips, I learnt how to set up my camera better and using angles helped me to express the mood. 

I made a news report on a volcano erupting and a I interviewed A chef called Shinzo Yahoui and then I interviewed a doctor called Dr. Adam Pepper.

My Plan

What art skills are you going to share?

For this task, I will be sharing my knowledge of the piano to my younger sister. I will be teaching her a few chords on the piano and a song.

How are you going to do it?

I will play a chord and tell my sister the name. I will then show her how to play and ask her to play. Once she has gotten the hang of the  chord, I will move on to the other chords. After I have taught her all the chords, I then show how to play two chords one after the other smoothly. I will then ask her to play the two chords and will help her out as we go through the song slowly. I will then put on the whole song and play it for her. Then I will ask her to play it the whole song. I will slow down the song at first so it is easier and slowly increase the speed. By the end, she will have hopefully learnt to play the song.

How are you going to make it fun and interesting?

I am going to teach my sister how to play one of her favourite songs on the piano so it is more interesting and fun.

What practice or preparation are you going to do?

I will have to make sure I find a simple version of the song my sister chooses so it is not too hard. I will also have to practice playing the song so I know what to teach her.

What will success look like?

Success will be if she is able to play the song. Another success will be if she is able to play the chords by herself and know the names of the chords.

Feedback from others  

Liana : The session was amazing. It was fun to learn how to play my favourite song on the piano. I now know how to play a full song on the piano. However, I would have liked a little more time to practice and to slow down the song a tiny bit more. Other than that, I had a great time and would happily do this again! 

My Review: What went well?

We had lots of it and it went well. I think I was able to successfully teach my sister the song. My sister knows how to play the piano a little bit so I found it easier to teach her since she could read simple sheet music fairly well.

Did it go to plan?

It did not really go to plan. Instead of teaching my sister the chords for the song, I ended up teaching her the melody line. I could not find a simplified chord version of the song for the piano so I taught her a simplified version of the melody. This meant I had to move around and change the method I had originally planned slightly. Otherwise, it went to plan.

What would I do differently next time?

I would have taught her some basic theory because she was a little bit confused about the terminology on the music and the letters on the note. I would have also given her a few more minutes to practice and get accustomed to playing the song. Another thing I would have done differently is have practised the song a little bit more so I could play in more fluently.
