@hdxkimtaehyung
// jeongguk & taehyung
jeongguk would never stay over too long, he had his two little sisters to look after anyway, and he didn’t want to appear too clingy— jeongguk would never admit to genuinely liking the elder’s company— he was merely someone who provided a comfy couch, t.v and great food. nothing more, nothing less.
"taehyung," his words dripping with apathy as he gazes up at the older boy, the small smirk that tugs at the corners of his lips was more than noticeable— hopefully taehyung was stupider than jeongguk thought and wouldn’t think anything of it. he was happy to see taehyung, honestly. it was his day off, and his sisters were at school, he had nothing better to do than come visit the older boy..
——and the teen miiiiight have ditched during first period to catch up on some anime with his hyung..
he flinches at the loud thump taehyung makes, parting his lips as he lets out a brief sigh, closing his eyes as he holds up his arms behind his head, in a stereotypical resting position. his peace is soon disrupted by the elder’s weight pressing down against him, brows narrowing as he decides not to say anything— or push him away. he’s in a cuddly mood today, but taehyung shouldn’t get his hopes up.
"you’re terrible," he teases, that smirk from earlier returning to his lips as he closes his eyes again, a content expression masking his face as he lowers a hand, dropping it on top of the older man’s head, ruffling up the other’s hair, "what happened? were people mean to you," a laugh escapes his lips after he speaks, opening up an eye, glancing down at the artist— maybe focusing on his eyes a little too much. he never actually noticed how pretty taehyung’s eyes were. weird. and now he’s chewing on the inside of his mouth to stop himself from making any remarks about taehyung’s somewhat attractive face.
"Terrible? Am I that terrible…?" the bassist whines, wiggling on top of the younger as if he's still pouting, - more like pouting with his whole body, - the pouty lips and the boy's sulking expression to intensify when Jeongguk reaches out to ruffle his hair.
The younger's company had always been enjoyable for Taehyung. It was easy to relate because they shared the same hobbies and same interests, and when Jeongguk mentioned that he plays guitar; Taehyung became obsessive with wanting to become his tutor.
There was something about the boy that put him at peace, and he always spoke in a manner that Taehyung found easy to understand.
"Nah, it was okay …just, it was really long," he yawns, stretching a little, still tangled into the other boy.
"Yah, Jeongguk-ah, how come you're like this?"
Taehyung squeezes the boy's biceps, and then again, and again - before he looks up to meet Jeongguk's gaze, a mischievous smirk playing on his lips.
"Are you... ticklish … … …?"
[ ✉ tae/hyung/ ] did you know that when you kiss someone their saliva stays in your mouth for six months [ ✉ tae/hyung/ ] im never kissing anyone ever
Taehyung drops his phone. And his cigarette.
He earns a few ‘You okay there?'s from his coworkers who all bend their spines to help rescue the lost cancer stick and Taehyung's smartphone ; The boy thanks them, a little sheepish and embarrassed for causing a commotion, - and turns to face a single corner in order to be left alone to write a reply. What even, …!
✉ [ ちび ] ⇨ YAH!!
✉ [ ちび ] ⇨ JEONGGUK-AH!! !!!! !! !
✉ [ ちび ] ⇨ (」゚ロ゚)」NOOOooooo━ WHO DID YOU KISS!
✉ [ ちび ] ⇨ WHO WAS IT?
✉ [ ちび ] ⇨ ꜡( ˃ ﹆̬ ˂꜡) TELL ME NOW!
✉ [ ちび ] ⇨ hyung is dying here!
✉ [ ちび ] ⇨ what is this! …!!!
✉ [ ちび ] ⇨ (ㆀ˘・з・˘) why are you kissing people behind hyung’s back? … ?
✉ [ ちび ] ⇨ ??? ?
It’s not like he’s being overprotective, no. It’s not like he’s jealous because he never kissed anyone before, and …It’s definitely not because he’s curious either !
open ; streetcounter
//sets up a hastily prepared cardboard and plops down at one of the most convenient street-art performance areas, a winter jacket and a folded hoodie to keep his butt warm (what a great idea this was, it's so cold outside… !)
but taehyung is broke,
and make up and hair dye is expensive, and so is the fried chicken at KFC.
so, he tunes in his guitar and looks around, clears his throat before strumming a simple melody ; maybe he should've just asked for money, but he's so hungry he could devour the sign he prepared for this random occasion ;
taehyung as daiki mamura (hirunaka no ryuusei) [©][©]
// jeongguk & taehyung
"by the way, i took the liberty of letting myself in— ‘hope you don’t mind.” the teen simply explains after the older boy finds him in his apartment, sitting quietly at the edge of his couch. it was taehyung’s fault for leaving the door unlocked, anybody could have walked right in if they wanted to.
taehyung should have been used to this by now though, seeing as jeongguk had become like a permanent furniture item that would litter itself throughout the house, or sprawl itself in the living room and occasionally become invested with watching whatever show was currently on the tv.
indeed, jeongguk became more or less a stable part of taehyung's apartment. sometimes the young bassist felt empted to treat the other as actual furniture, - set up a table cloth and prop a few decorations on top, like a fruit bowl or something, just to prove his point.
but the kid was too cute to deny, (and taehyung loved cute and small things; jeongguk easily fit in the category of both) so he never complained when the younger showed up. if anything, he was glad to see him, because it felt like he adopted a real younger brother this way.
"yah, jeonggukkie,.." the artist grins, poking out from the kitchen doorway where he previously padded over to explore the contents of the fridge (to no avail)
he slams the fridge door shut and waddles to where the other's seated, tackling him into the full expanse of the couch. he nuzzles into his shirt before he expects to be pushed away, yawning sleepily;
"i had a night shift yesterday, it was terrible..!" a whine, and he squeezes the boy, just wishing he could leech off the warmth and make jeongguk into his human pillow for the day.
taehyung being a cute little shit @ mcb
marathon could be fun, but i can't run...! ; taehyung & kyungsoo
It is funny how quickly anger can die, annoyance slips away by squeezing it out of a soul. After all, it is much easier to forgive than forget. People just don’t try hard enough. And perhaps there’s affection tainting his lips or warming some portion of his heart. If so, he wouldn’t complain. (He has an inkling it has more to do with the excitement of rewatching Elric brothers in action than anything else).
Physical intimacy not a foreign concept but he’s never been comfortable with it to begin with. Hence his body stiffens a bit, arms hanging idly to the side. Perhaps he should ruffle the other’s hair just like he does to Yuki but he’s released before he can take action. Lips curl into a smile as the tension from shoulders are released, quietly observing the interaction between the human and his best friend.
There may or may not be one of those foolish smiles that grace proud parent’s lips. A happy Yuki usually calls for a happy Kyungsoo.
"You could have just asked me," upon listening to the excuse but quickly adds: "you’ll get the hang of it soon enough." Tries to reassure the other only to be carried away with the jumping of topics. Young minds, he can’t help but wonder how long attention spans are. Perhaps worse than that of a goldfish.
"Oh we do. It’s just that Doraemon doesn’t want anyone to access it," he provides with a slight wink, not sure if the other will understand the reference to that one episode where Nobita moves out and resides in an apartment room that shouldn’t exist… ah forget it. He might be getting too old for this and that alone is the most depressing thought.
"I…" he begins as he allows the youngster to help himself up. "I was exaggerating," he confesses, slightly ashamed as he diverts his glance to somewhere else. "But we can bake it a little if you wish to reheat it," adds before leaving to grab glasses from the kitchen - soda a compliment and a necessity for pizza. An offhanded wave in Taehyung’s direction, invitation for a seat.
"As an apology, I expect you to keep Yuki entertained all evening," his maltese deserving some love and attention on a daily basis. "Do me a favor and start it will you?" he adds before walking over with the glasses in hand, the pizza already laid out on the tea table nestled between the television and the couch.
Taehyung is left standing on his feet, eyes wide, mouth slightly agape as he witnesses the small wink from his hyung, - gaping a little as if unable to wrap his mind around the perfectly executed Doraemon reference. The boy grins wide, and does a little bit of aegyo as he tries to impersonate Doraemon's voice;
"You and I will always be best friends!," and really, all that matters is that there is pizza (any food, in fact), and he's happy to receive it. It only adds to happiness that he's spending the afternoon with his favourite person ever since he moved to Hongdae.
The boy drops his butt onto the sofa, craddling Yuki close and seating himself comfortably while she licks his chin in excitement, tail waggling, - it's no secreat that Taehyung can pride himself in being good with animals. Even children, - there's certain innocence he shares with both and understands them easily.
"I didn't want to bother you with having to explain the way. I really want to get it right for once," he exclaims, nuzzling into Yuki's fur. "I have a ...friend who helps me with Korean, too, so it's getting better," the boy offers a smile, and pats the spot next to him for Kyungsoo to take place.
Taehyung taps the spacebar and lets the first tunes of the opening play, really getting into it, eyes closed as he recalls the familiar melody.
"Ah, really! It's so good!"
"And the pizza looks great too, hyung... Hyung you're too cool for me," Taehyung sways and bumps Kyungoo's shoulder lightly, a playful grin plastered on his face. Indeed, a perfect evening with the perfect company.
pinch me! ; taehyung & jinyoung
Okay, maybe it was safer to say that this guy was dumb, rather than oblivious, but thankfully Jinyoung was not the type to judge someone’s intelligence level (because god knew he wasn’t the brightest person in the world either), especially when they were as good looking as the person standing before him.
Yet he couldn’t help looking down at his hand bewilderingly, and snicker to himself. When was the last time someone had greeted him in such a way? As soon as the stranger walked in, the shop owner found himself smitten, and with the odd actions he conveyed, the urge to get to know him only grew greater with each passing moment.
Ah, so he couldn’t afford the comics he was holding on to so tightly. Jinyoung had figured as much.
With an understanding nod, he outstretched his palm again, beaming upon those lovely features. “Since you’re such a good secret keeper, I’ll let you have these for free—” and for a few stray seconds, he wondered if being his usual bold self was a good idea, but he disregarded whatever good advice he had given himself, “if you’ll let me have your phone number, and promise that you’ll stop by more often.”
His dad would give him the worst throttling, if he found out the unabashed flirting that occurred on this particular day. Thankfully, no one would ever know, besides the two people standing near the store counter.
"My name’s Jinyoung, by the way. It’s nice to meet you…?"
Or should I just keep referring to you as handsome? He slapped that urge out of his head immediately, not wanting to seem like a bigger creep than he was already being. If he managed to chase away the cute and peculiar boy, with the adorable smile, who had brightened up his day, he would be most upset with himself.
It was safe to assume that Taehyung was naive. Naive, and perhaps a little bit innocent, even though it's not like he haven't flipped through comics and novels with questionable content before (and haven't actually owned a few pieces himself,) but real life interactions were always a different thing for the boy, - him usually being the oblivious one towards any subtle advances. (So at the mention of Jinyoung's 'handsome', the connection haven't even clicked in his mind in the first place.)
Taehyung was ready to head back & put away the comics in his hands, just to return and chat a little more with cashier he befriended, but as he was about to turn on his heel, - Jinyoung's words froze him in his tracks,
"Wha-- ...whoa, really? I mean... ! Really, for real ....? !" the boy beams, loudly enough to have heads turn in their direction (again), and things get a little complicated when the young bassist lurches at Jinyoung and tugs him into a awkward hug across the counter.
"I'll give you anything-, ...anything!" Taehyung squeals before he lets go and wiggles excitedly, still a little bewildered upon hearing the news (the best he's had in a while,)
"Jinyoung ...oppa," the boy grins, still in his own happy world as he sways with the comics in his arms. "My name is Taehyung, Kim Taehyung,"
And then it hits him that perhaps he misunderstood (what with his rusty Korean,) and looks at Jinyoung with his lip caught between his teeth, a little anxious that this might be too good to be true, after all;
"Are these really mine,... ? If so, in exchange I can play you a song or something!" he suggests, leaning against the counter as he points at his guitar bag, and licks his lips nervously as he awaits the answer.
The Fight Between the Snipe and the Clam is as follows: an innocent clam was sunbathing when a snipe swooped in for a taste. And so in retribution (and in the only way it can protect itself from becoming nonexistent) he slams the shell shut, trapping the snipe’s beak. The snipe said (or rather mumbled because how clear can he be with a shut beak?), “If it doesn’t rain today, and it doesn’t rain tomorrow, I shall see a dead clam on the beach.” In which, the claim responded, “If I don’t open today, and I don’t open up tomorrow, I shall see a dead snipe on the beach.” And then some lucky fisherman passed by and snatched both up for a good meal for the family.
Or something like that. He can’t remember the details anymore. One of the texts he skimmed back in high school where the classroom was outside and he still doesn’t know what his homeroom teacher looks like. The moral of the story being: fishermen aren’t all that lucky and the best method to win is to be stubborn. Of course, these are heavily revised in his head but Taehyun prided himself in lasting out the longest. Not just in terms of stamina but in stubbornness as if his astrological sign coincided with his personality.
Pain shoots up his thumb where the other had sunk his teeth into. It… was nothing the student expected of course. A shove was warranted but this? This is just childish. (He’s not any better but we aren’t talking about Nam Taehyun here are we?) And the glare-
The nerve of him. Between the flare of pain and the boldness of the glare has Taehyun furious again. (All this fury must be terrible for his body. But hey, he’s still young.) Certainly his eyebrows have drawn together in pain, lips parted in a silent gasp of pain, but he reacts quickly.
" Are you five or something? "
must be. Taehyun’s frees the other in order to pry open Taehyung’s mouth. The arm used to pin him now presses against the soft flesh of cheeks, digging at the gap between molars, forcing his thumb free. And when he does manage to do so, he takes a step back - enough distance to guarantee safety.
He checks his thumb for any signs of rupture or bleeding, bringing it as close to himself as possible. Seriously, exhales in exasperation because this situation could be solved with a mere apology or at least a promise he wouldn’t be hinted at for being weak (of course there are strong female figures but in a society where masculinity is cherished, it’s hard to swallow).
" Or do I have to pay to send you to a canine training center? “
'Refuses to go down without a fight,' -- or being plain stubborn, either can describe Kim Taehyung fairly enough. The boy even increases the pressure as Taehyun tries to free his captive thumb, and there's a small voice in the bassist's head wishing for the teeth-print to remain permanent on skin. It doesn't even matter now, - the fact that he started the prank, - all that remains in his line of vision is the image of other boy trapping him against a wall in a somewhat compromising position.
"Serves you right, asshole," he mumbles, wiping his mouth twice.
Taehyung bends down to pick up his backpack where he dropped it when Taehyun snatched him up, dusting his shoulder off as if the florist's hands have carried dirt on them.
"If you want to give me money so badly then do it on Thursday at FF," ..., "Asshole," he adds, again.
It's too bad that the boy's heart is still fluttering wildly in his chest, and he decides to pass it off as aftermath of the surprise that ultimately nearly has him tripping over his own two feet as he tries to walk past the other with nonchalance, eyeing the hand he's holding so closely to himself.
"Just, look--," Taehyung holds out his own hand, but then tucks it back into his pocket, "You scared me, okay? Not gonna call you anything but a jerk from now on if that makes you happy," he rolls his eyes for emphasis, wondering whether he took the joke too far, or if Taehyun's just being overly sensitive about it. It's his fault, for looking pretty like that, anyway, ...

To think, for even a mere moment, that things would just end with a childish prank like that of a crumpled paper ball — Taehyun is losing touch with reality, such a naive thought for someone his age. So when his desk shakes and he gives the other a glare (the audacity of the brat still has him gnashing his teeth together) only to find a smirk tossed in his direction… The lecture is nothing more than background music. His fingers grip his pencil a bit too tightly. The results are evident in the troughs etched into paper due to the pressure on lead.
The student still tries, to no avail, to immerse himself back into the monotonous drone of numbers and names. Thinks he successfully has, pretended to at least, continuing to look forward as if the prior perpetrations had no effect on him. In no universe would he have expected this:
"Jagiya !"
A ruckus upon the bassist’s return. What a foolish soul to use class time to profess his love to whatever unfortunate soul the receiver of the title is—
Oh hell no. He’s pretty sure mortification is the sole expression on his face at this point when Taehyung manages to seat himself on the florist’s lap. Not only that but the realization that the term of endearment used nothing more than to humiliate Taehyun has him ready to skin the boy alive. If only he didn’t have an entire class and a professor to witness the brutal scene. He stiffens when he feels the arms around his neck.
Thank goodness his professor is willing to speak up about it. An obligation because what the bassist had just done was disrupt the class, a waste of precious time and tuition and—
Taehyun nearly chokes at the mention of girlfriend mostly because since when? As the most unfortunate constant companion, the florist would probably be the first to know (or at least thinks he would have noticed). But the class joins in laughter and Taehyun knows that blood is flooding his cheeks, tinging it pick and warming it up. In frustration, he pinches the other’s thigh and gives it a small twist, hoping he would gasp out in pain. It’s nowhere close to revenge but for the time being it helps him collect himself a bit.
The other finally returns back to where he belongs (far far away from the boxer) but the same level of calmness no longer attainable after the stunt. He impatiently counts the time as his gaze flickers to the clock mounted on the wall. Everything just becomes muted in his determined world.
Finally, the bells indicate the end of a class period and Taehyun takes his time packing up his stuff whilst keeping an eye on his nemesis. Once everything is loaded into his bag, he leisurely makes his way out. Spying the boy (not hard. The hair gives him away from miles away) and he quickens his pace to catch up.
The main lobby has conveniently been emptied to a large extent, most students preoccupied with making their way to their next class. Taehyun is caught up and reaches out, forearm against the other’s throat as he presses Taehyung against a wall, pinning him to it.
"Don’t you," words all broken up, adrenaline in his veins as he continues: "ever pull that kind of prank again.” It is between a hiss and a growl, something so feral he hasn’t felt in a while (that’s a lie. The last time was under the effects of ethanol although he likes to think it only happened that one time he lost it in middle school).
It might be the shame that still lingers, the chorus of echoes that resound in his head, and his lost face that has him this furious. Less out of the borrowed lap and more at the implication that he is nothing more than a girl (a history of proving himself through fists and blood to stop such claims about him and his sexuality). “At least have the decency of acknowledging that I am a man,” oh how he wishes words could slice as cleanly as knives. He tilts his head to better inspect the other male, the hand that was pressed against the wall in order to trap the bassist now dragged against the soft flesh of cheeks. Probably cold but he doesn’t care. Catches Taehyung’s chin between the index finger and the thumb, eyes questioning: or have you forgotten the taste of my fists?
"Don’t force my hand."
The young bassist's been in a pretty great mood for the rest of their shared History lesson, nerves calmed, - his knee no longer bouncing up and down, - leaning back in his seat, legs sprawled underneath the desk and head tilted sideways ; He isn't paying attention but revels in the perfectly executed laugh he provided for the students instead. Ahh, revenge's sweet ! He can't quite recall why he's been so thirsty for a payback anymore, but it sure had something to do with a nasty incident associated with Taehyun prior to this day.
The bell rings and he leisurely grabs his backpack, strolling out of class like the spotlight's still on him, and Taehyung wonders if the whispers are still floating around, - the artist's ego inflating like a balloon when his popularity grows among the students (once again). The boy pops a lollipop into his mouth, tucks the candy against the inside of his cheek and grins upon meeting familiar faces as they come and go from the lobby.
He stops, adjusts his backpack and sucks on the sweet treat, - releases the round top with a pop and examines the pink colour which should probably indicate strawberry flavour, but to Taehyung it doesn't taste that way at all, (he realises with a frown but refuses to let go just because the flavour doesn't meet his expectations.)
The bassist's about to carry on with his day when he feels a malicious presence behind him, - and in blink of an eye he finds himself pinned against one of the nearest walls, - by none other than Nam Taehyun himself.
To say that Taehyung isn't scared would be an understatement at the moment.
He gulps, wets his lips in order to satisfy a nervous habit, - and Taehyung holds himself in a rigid pose as the other growls words of warning.
"I-- ," he starts, hoping he could get a word in before Taehyun smashes his face in, but it seems that the older boy has other plans ; one of them having something to do with confusing the hell out of the poor artist.
Eyes shut, - Taehyung expects a hit and he even squirms in attempt to avoid the unavoidable, - but nothing comes, - and the boy flinches as a cold palm presses against his cheek instead.
Mouth parted in genuine surprise, the bassist stares at the other, screaming internally because this is like a manga panel happening right now, - right in the middle of the University lobby and Taehyung thinks he might be a little dizzy and lightheaded when Taehyun pulls this kind of crap on him.
"Don’t force my hand."
Taehyung fights a shudder (and his imagination for the most part,) his expression turning darker by the second ; How dare he pinched him like that in the class earlier? The artist's certain there's gonna be a tiny bruise later, and he couldn't even return it because the prank had to be perfect and no surprises on his part were allowed (all he managed to do was to give the other a small glare back then).
So what Taehyung does is that he lower his head, chomps on Taehyun's thumb that had him looking up in a fixed position ; canines sinking into flesh. He glares (again), unable to come with a comeback except for a bunch of curse words he has to translate in his head, - because obviously another prank like this wouldn't be as funny as the first time. And, he's not letting go of Taehyun's hand either
Pathetic because at the ends of his fingertips is substance, unable to cope on his own. It’s that or nicotine or rolled up joints or warmth of bodies for one night. It is a cycle on repeat and although some of them have faded with time, some remain the same. Running away is sometimes easier than facing your problems and too often Taehyun caves in.
He thinks it is annoyance he sees in the other. It is 3AM. Maybe 4. He’s lost track of time but he wouldn’t be too pleased if he was detained by some fool unwilling to sober up. The act ends soon enough, the props fall and his mask fractures.
"Are you offering your shoulder for me to sob on?" he jokes, attempting at a lighter tone as he glances up at the younger male, contemplating on throwing in a wink just so the other can grimace and leave him.
But it soon turns sour, lips pull down into a frown as he grumbles: “Don’t lecture me.” He’s had enough of that in his life. He knows.
"In case you didn’t get it the first time," pauses before continuing "obviously the text was a mistake.” It’s that weird battle between leave me alone because it’s hard to breathe in a crowd of individuals and please don’t go because loneliness is a feeling more oppressive than the mob.
Taehyung doesn't need a drink to sober up from what Taehyun tells him ;
"Don't lecture me,"
And isn't that right? What was he thinking again ? It isn't like he knows the florist ; hell, he doesn't even know what flavour he'd add to his latte if he ever ordered one at the store, - and he was a fool for even thinking about giving Taehyun a piece of mind to begin with.
The bassist backs off, eyes wide as he drops his frightened gaze to the floor. He's ashamed, for butting in - for trying to be the hero, - for even forcing the issue and coming here like some kind of a saint he knows he isn't.
Taehyung swallows, feeling the sting ; …the text was a mistake, … and he realises that he's a mistake, too, for even offering a hand to someone who can probably take care of themselves, - someone who doesn't need 'privileged help'.
Tail between his legs, the boy even lowers his head, - it's like he walked into someone's life thinking he knew them just because they spent some time together.
"Sorry," he mutters,
"I already caught you, so, ... I'll go," referring to their earlier exchange of messages, he turns towards the exit, -- stopping for one last time, - he produces a gift card from his apron's pocket.
"For the homework last time," and he's gone, out in the night again, - he decides to walk the distance to Starbucks on his own feet.
He knows the answer before he hears it, mostly because he’s asked himself the same question each morning. His reflection revealing the answers as droplets of water drip from drenched hair in the illusion of tears. Grip forced to be released and he allows his arm to drop before returning it to the table, reaching for his glass.
Lips curl into a smile and he plasters it to his face, eyes following the swirl of liquid and the way it catches the lights in this dim place, obscuring them from view. Because some glances too honest can strip defences away, plunge too deep and notice where the act ends and the boy inside begins.
Taehyun forces a laugh before replying:
"forgetting"
then catches himself because why the hell is he being so goddamn honest with this kid in the first place?
"you and your dumb face."
he adds because if you start repeating the lies perhaps one day you’ll start believing them. One day he’ll learn to build himself a bridge and get over it. But today is not the day.
A quirk of a brow, a sigh that escapes chapped lips, - Taehyung rubs the back of his neck in order to release the tension in his body. He's always been made fun of for being foolish and naive ; but the boy had ever since believed that being honest and true (to yourself, most of all) could possibly be the only correct way to leading a decent life.
Seeing Taehyun like this made him sad. Somehow he always thought that the other male is much more mature and experienced than him, - he always had that air around him, like he knew what he was doing, - but maybe Taehyung just adapted that view because he thought of him as of a tutor first, person second.
"Look, just stop. If you're sad, then fucking cry,
You're not going to fool anyone with,…" Taehyung gestures towards the empty glasses on the table, "…with this. Whatever it is you're doing."
