Might be a stretch but there's a lot of similarities!

Now...The reason Marissa doesn't quite match with the vibe of juju's shop, is intentional(it wasnt but now it is..shhh), Marissa isn't really alive, nor she is dead, she was given to Juju after juju made deals with a certain spirit/demon(didn't determine which is it yet-) as a sacrifice, Juju will get powers in exchange if she took care of It, who is Marissa.
If you guys missed, Marissa is basically a Wendigo like creature but her form is protected and kept by this...doll form, i actually wanted to make her a porcelain doll but it... doesn't add up- ANYWAYS.
Through the years, she was basically...well nothing, she just served and cleaned for Juju, she never truly had an age nor any sort of personality, just blind excitement. Juju never minded having a bond with her, it started giving her a lot of opportunities.
Marissa is like a child you will let loose to a daycare, she wouldn't know she is doing anything wrong unless you confront her, so...when she newly had a job at the cafe, things were rough, since she didn't know a lot of things from rules to labels to basically any human concept.
So she ended up getting in trouble with Larry and Lawrie after beating up a customer for messing up the cake she delivered to their table.
Confrontation comes with discipline, which she got a LOT from the twins, she was charged, but never really banned from the park, unless she did it more.
With a ticket in her hand and a lot in her mind, she went home. Around like 1 am and talk to her mother Juju;
"In the tale of Rapunzel, after Rapunzel fell for the prince, her Mother confronts her to come back to her old life in the tower."
JuJu panicked at the thought of her "Daughter"- or rather maid at that point of the story interacting the law enforcement of the park and ACTUALLY taking them seriously other then following her orders broke the pride of her having control of Marissa's life.
Marissa was basically nothing to Juju, A shell, a maid, a burden and someone who does the dirty work by stalking and gathering information from brawlers forcefully, a shell of nothing, nobody, until
She started to...gain a personality, she was extremely shy and she didn't know how to start conversations. Ever, the only person she knew was the twins, but she barely saw them after the confrontation...so she slowly turned to her co-workers for answers, they normally don't interact with her from how weird she was but now seeing her..change, they give her a chance.
Her co-workers advised books, observation even had conversations about her troubled vision's, she..started feeling something. She started to feel, despite being an empty shell.
Her mother noticed, tho, so it didn't take long;
"In the (original) tale of rapunzel, Her mother cut her long hair to fool the prince, only to drop him down the spiky flower bushes that lied around the tower, blinding him"
Juju was bittersweet about her puppet actually having sentience, whih one day, spiked a extremely heated fight, which ended with Marissa losing her eye completely, she stayed in the oddities shop until she was The no one Juju always raised around her, finnaly letting her out like nothing ever happened.
She still had a relationship with her co-workers, since they considered her a friend after her efforts, it made her feel better at least a little, but her social skills were 0 again for a long time
Until THEY showed up at the cafe again. It felt really weird and awkward, they somewhat remembered her but not a lot, all they knew was that she was charged only 1 time by them.
The service was a success For L&L and R-t! So unexpectedly for Marissa, she started seeing them at least once a week, they clearly loved the service and the foods and how nice the waiters were, the cafe became the Hub's favorite place to crash at at their lunch breaks or any breaks in general.
Larry's attention slowly started to target Marissa, He never quite saw trouble makers try to redeem themselves this hard, so he tried to be her friend, it took time, cause of their work schedules and Marissa's poor social skills;
"After getting her hair cut and being banished from the tower, rapunzel waited for her prince to find her again."
And then..she decided to talk to her mother Juju again, it sure wasnt a bright idea, but she tried to make her mother a load of gift's like table of food, gifts, etc just so at least she'll listen by any sort of chance,
it surprisingly worked
The talk was extremely awkward, she didn't jave a plan, she just wanted to talk and wash her mother with gifts just so she'll stay a little more longer, the amount of thought she gave to everything touched Juju's heart, which resulted with guilt that started eating her up slowly, Marissa didn't stop with gifts only for that talk;
She gave her mother gifts almost everyday, apologizing severely when she cant some days.
Overwhelmed by everything, Juju took her daughter to a corner to speak, it was sure awkward but juju really wanted to redeem herself even if she cant believe she is doing this to a Shell of nothing that she had to consider a daughter for decades, yt it felt like she finnaly grew a heart under that shell, a beating heart that cries and laughs, her heart, Marissa's heart
"And eventually, Her blind prince found her after searching restlessly for years, recognizing Rapunzel's touch and the warmth feeling of her now destroyed beautiful hair."
The lift off the tension in her home life felt...great for her, she was still an awkward person but at least she was extroverted, she felt like she...had a voice, a personality, a heart, even friends that talked to her.
Her effort even made her the employee of the week sometimes! She felt complete in her current life until... Larry wanted to be close too
It took him a while to get the courage to talk with her, but instantly, he knew she had a lot in common with him, so he went for it!...it was a hard process to befriend her since he is literally the law enforcement(and her mother's panick from the said law) which made her nervous and dismissive,
But of course Delightful rules wouldn't be a thing, isnt it? The new reasons she is really oblivious is:
She genuinely has no idea of the concept of love is, she can observe and study, but she cant understand her herself, she will basically say she loves everyone and nothing else, so how do u expect her to know about these kinda things
I scrapped the ideas of her having a love life before Larry cause it didn't add up
