This is our final result:
This effect is a very popular trend and it's very easy to achieve.
1. Choose the screencaps you want to color. I am using caps from the movie Across The Universe.
2. Open them in Photoshop. We'll go step by step with each colorization, I am adding the settings I used for this edits, but you can modify them according to your cap
3. Layer> New Adjustment Layer> Curves> Output: 152, Input: 93
4.Layer> New Adjustment Layer> Brightness/Contrast: Brightness: 32, Contrast: 14
5.Layer>New Adjustment Layer>Vibrance (optional): 48
6. Layer> New Fill Layer> Solid Color: #feffe9, set it on multiply at 100%.
For the Blue Colorization:
Layer> New Fill Layer> Solid Color: #37cdf3, lighten at 15%
Layer> New Adjustment Layer> Curves> Output: 56, Input: 40
Layer> New Adjustment Layer> Color Balance> Midtones, -100, +6, +85
Layer> New Adjustment Layer> Color Balance> Midtones, -100, +6, +100, set it on Soft Light at 30%
For the Pink Colorization:
Layer> New Fill Layer> Solid Color: #e5a0a0, lighten at 15%
Layer>New Adjustment Layer>Vibrance : 50, Normal at 35%
Layer> New Adjustment Layer> Color Balance> Midtones, -3, -68, +45, normal at 67%
Layer> New Fill Layer> Solid Color: #feffe9, Multiply at 100%
For the Orange Colorization:
Layer>New Adjustment Layer>Vibrance : 73, Normal at 65%
Layer> New Adjustment Layer> Color Balance> Midtones, -17, +30, -50
Duplicate the Color Balance.
For the Green Colorization:
Layer> New Adjustment Layer> Curves> Output: 56, Input: 40
Layer> New Adjustment Layer> Color Balance> Midtones, -13, +71, -13, Normal at 76%
Layer> New Adjustment Layer> Color Balance> Midtones, +26, +71, -16, Normal at 50%
8. After colorizing your screencaps, I recommend you to sharpen it (Filter> Sharpen> Sharpen) and apply Topaz Clean, here are the settings I used
And that's all! Easy peasy right?
