Dark Rocky Landscape Photography Resembles the Moon’s Surface

Swiss photographer Elias Amari captured the dark majestic beauty of the Etna volcano in Sicily for his project, titled Enceladu. Named after Saturn’s moon, the photography series reveals the obscure and surreal landscape of the Etna volcano, which contains some of the same qualities of black rock and sulfur, which resemble the moon’s composition. In Greek Mythology, it is said that Mount Etna’s was conceived from the breath of Enceladus (Saturn’s moon), which was buried under the volcano; coincidentally him to roll over from side to side beneath the mountain due to its tremors.
