This morning Samir and I were discussing doing a small party in my mom’s backyard for our one year anniversary ان شاءالله and maybe that’s what got me thinking about Duaa but I was reflecting on how when you’re so sincere in your intention plus have the best expectation from Allah, how beautifully and quickly Allah answers your Duaas.
Like I was thinking about how September 2022 I went to Salt Lake City for a conference for work and I had thought to myself that the Duaa of a traveler is accepted. When I got to my hotel room, I made wudhu and prayed 2 rakah and afterward made Duaa that Allah grants me a spouse that will help me elevate my akhirah and accept me as I am. Like I made sure my intention was correct (for the sake of Allah) and then I also just thought to myself “there’s no way Allah doesn’t grant me this”, like not arrogantly but just with this full trust, because He has given me soooo much of what I’ve asked for. And legit 2 weeks later is the first time I met Samir lol
I know there’s so many other instances too of Duaa and quick acceptance for me but this one is what I was reflecting on today and it just made me feel like Allah is so…beautiful in His actions to us when we’re not always 100 in how we’re supposed to submit to Him. But that’s what makes Him Allah ❤️

Turned 35 a few days ago and that feels like such an adult number. I finally feel like an adult. But also at the same time who decided I could adult (I am still soft bebe girl 😂)

Went to spend the weekend at my parents house for the first time since I got married. My brother and his wife made me feel completely unwelcome in my parents house. For no rational identifiable reason. My brother used to be my ride or die before his shaadi. And now…..I don’t wanna fling accusations so I won’t, but this newfound hatred for me has to be coming from somewhere…?

I thought living with my FIL/MIL, being a stepmom to two kids of whom we have fully custody, and learning to be wifey would be hard adjustments. Alhumdulilah all that has been made easy for me by the grace of Allah, Alhumdulilah Alhumdulilah. Never in a million years did I think that being a cat mom is what would drive me up the walls! Jasper is insaaaanely needy and definitely hates that his baba’s attention is now on me 😹 it’s been six months and he still hasn’t befriended me. Thankfully, Jaxx has no issues with me as long as I feed him and give him head rubs.
"Ya Allah, grant me a heart that is not lazy to pray, worship and read the Quran. Don't leave me to myself. Don't leave me to my own desires, grant me faith in my last breath, grant me the grace to leave this world in a beautiful and faithful manner."
Allahumma Aameen

Not me thinking I saw “good night babe ❤️” on my husband’s phone and getting ready to fight him, only to find out it said “good night BABA ❤️” from his son 😂😂😂
وإن عَظُمَ المطلوب فالله أعظمُ
And if the request is great, then Allah is greater.
Not even gunna lie, 80% of the reason I chose to come back to Paradisus for my honeymoon is so I could try the tamarind mojito again 😍
I'm just a girl trying to get through all the books she wants to read
the day of arafah is for YOU, my dear.
if you feel so overwhelmed by everything happening in your personal life that it’s hard to breathe sometimes - arafah is your day.
if you’re hurt by the behavior of others and still bitter over memories of them taking advantage of you - arafah is your day.
if you can’t remember the last time you felt truly connected to Allah (swt) and at peace - arafah is your day.
if you’re living life on autopilot and it’s been ages since the last time you felt like yourself - arafah is your day.
if you feel disconnected from your partner, resentful and lonely with little hope of things changing for the better - arafah is your day.
if your heart bleeds for the muslim ummah and you grieve for their children, your children, OUR children - arafah is your day.
if you or a loved one is battling a physical or mental illness and it’s so draining for all of you - arafah is your day.
if you know you need to change, heal, move on, and be guided to your true purpose in life but don’t know where to start - arafah is your day.
arafah is the day of miracles, answered prayers, hope, forgiveness, mercy, and love.
arafah is YOUR day.
I feel like patience while waiting for a test to end is so much more different than patience while waiting for something to happen. Like it’s so close. Within your grasp. Yet at the same time still out of reach. It’s more tangible, and therefore harder to wait for. But that’s all you can do. You can’t fast forward time. The days will pass in the blink of an eye, and yet I can’t seem to blink fast enough. This patience is much harder (for me, at least).
Man SubhanAllah I wrote this TEN months ago. At that time I was waiting for things to progress with my now-husband. And how true as written, the days passed in the blink of an eye. Alhumdulilah I’m married to him, exactly 1.5 years after the day we first met.
Married has a nice ring to it 😉
