“We both need to protect him, Amajiki.”
Just remembering that Mirio has lost his Quirk, in combination with Tamaki’s anxious state, caused the female to sling an arm around her friend and hug him tightly. She too is depressed about it, yet not only doesn’t show it in her features, she still has her hopes high for the other.
“And Togata is pretty strong though, even if he can’t phase through matter anymore.”
She doesn’t really want to think about her losing her Quirk somehow, but she had an idea of what would she do if that occurred.
“If that happened, I’d probably fight barehanded!! Or become a teacher to help people with their own Quirks!! All Might already does that, so why wouldn’t anyone else??” She candidly states, letting go of her friend and punching the air rapidly in excitement.
He jumped a little at the contact, but eventually relaxed into her hold, shoulders slumped (as usual) as a small sigh pushed past wobbly lips. “H- He’s strong but without his quirk... he can get h- hurt...” Just the thought itself was enough to worry Tamaki an incredible amount and, god, he didn’t like it. He always worried about his best friend, but this was different.
What if... What if Mirio had died then? What if Mirio had died because of his incompetence?
Tamaki shook the thoughts away, lowering his head with another quiet exhale. He only lifted his head when Nejire let go of him and watched her punch the air curiously.
“It should have been me...” he whispered, lifting his hands up to rub at his face. “Why did they have to do that to Mirio..? T- They took away his dream...” Tamaki would never forgive those who hurt Mirio, seeing his best friend broken like that had chipped away at his heart and he didn’t think he’d be able to take much more of it. Now, if Nejire actually lost her quirk too, then Tamaki would probably just break down completely.
“P- Please don’t go losing your quirk, Hadou... We need to p- protect Mirio, I can’t do it myself...”
