haven: (the batman x reader) maybe the batman isn't made to love longer than a night.
REQUESTS ARE CURRENTLY CLOSED.
if you would like to request a fic from me, you are welcome to do so! i just ask that you please adhere to the following:
i do not write smut. implied is okay, but please do not ask me to write anything explicit! i reserve the right to refuse any request if it makes me uncomfortable.
please do not be overly specific in your request. my style is very unstructured, and i find i write better that way. you can provide a few guidelines (i.e. inspired by [x] or with [x] trope), but please allow me some creative freedom!
lastly, but most importantly, be patient. if i could churn out a fic in half a day i would, trust me. most of the time, though, it takes me about two weeks/a month to write a full-fledged one-shot. if i don't answer your request right away, i promise i am not ignoring you! i will write it, it just may take some time. (also, remember that i do this unpaid and on my own free time, which at the moment is very limited.)
so since ya girl reached another really big milestone, and instead of doing the usual celebration, and because i’ve been bitten by the writing bug; i figured why not do a small little blurb celebration!
i always love having blurb nights so let’s turn it into a week. this little celebration will run from july 13th - 20th.
a big thank you to every one of you babes who follow me, interact with me, read and comment and reblog my stuff. you are the best, the reason my sanity hasn’t sent me plummeting. ilysm <3
anyone can send something in / join in but you must be 18+, minors please be respectful and dni
there’s no limit to how many things you can send in
added tropes and genres and ships and aus are more than welcome and encouraged, but please refer to my faq for what i do and don’t write if it’s a topic you’re not sure i’ll be ok with
any of the prompts within this tag are welcome / open, but please clarify from which post it is from by copying and pasting the whole dialogue, prompt, etc, not just the number.
the following characters / series are open for requests:
stranger things: eddie munson, steve harrington, 001/henry creel, jim hopper
marvel: thor odinson
top gun: rooster, hangman, phoenix, fanboy
etc: javi gutierrez, tom (make up 2019)
series: heavy metal love, green light, more than a feeling
You are angry about something. “Clam down,” I text you. You assume I have made a typo, but in fact I am holding a small soldier clam in my hands. He died so young. War is hell
chrissy: eddie, please, could you put the kids to bed?
eddie: sure thing honey!
*three hours later*
eddie: “That’s enough!” said Beorn. “Sit down and be quiet! Now go on, Gandalf!” So Gandalf went on with the tale, until he came to the fight in the dark, the discovery of the lower gate, and their horror when they found that Mr. Baggins had been mislaid…..
idk who needs to hear this but when your english teacher asks you to explain why an author chose to use a specific metaphor or literary device, it’s not because you won’t be able to function in real-world society without the essential knowledge of gatsby’s green light or whatever, it’s because that process develops your abilities to parse a text for meaning and fill in gaps in information by yourself, and if you’re wondering what happens when you DON’T develop an adult level of reading comprehension, look no further than the dizzying array of examples right here on tumblr dot com
k but also, as an addendum, the reason we study literary analysis is because everything an author writes has meaning, whether it was intentional or not, and their biases and agendas are often reflected in their choice of language and literary devices and so forth! and that ties directly into being able to identify, for example, the racist and antisemitic dogwhistles often employed by the right wing, or the subconscious word choices that can unintentionally illustrate someone’s bias or blind spot. LANGUAGE HAS WEIGHT AND MEANING! the way we communicate is a reflection of our inner selves, and that’s true regardless of whether it’s a short story or a novel or a blog post or a tweet. instead of taking a piece of writing at face value and stopping there, assuming that there is no deeper meaning or thought behind the words on the page, ask yourself these two questions instead:
1. what is the author trying to say?
2. what does the author maybe not realize they’re saying?
because the most interesting reading of any piece of literature, imho, usually occupies the space in between those questions.
(((i don’t get into it in this because that would add like 3k words easily. BUT long story short, you’ve known bucky and steve since you met them in 1935. we’ll just say you were born the same year as bucky, so you were both 18. then when the war happens, you basically volunteer along with steve and end up becoming american dream. she is an actual hero but i’m mostly just using the name, imagine your powers are whatever you want them to be! you went into the ice with steve, and that’s how you’re able to be with bucky now.)))
word count: 1.3k (just a short little something)

and his mother's ring??? i am sobbing. how lovely that they knew each other back in the 30s, and both ended up together so many years later 🥺 it was meant to be
hello all! so i recently hit 500 followers (yay) and i decided to host a writing challenge! partly because i've always wanted to have one and partly because sleepovers intimidate me, haha. i wanted to make it representative of my interests and blog as a whole, so i thought, why not make it poetry inspired?
LOVE IN VERSE.
what is it? the love in verse writing challenge is simple: write a fic inspired by your favorite poem! there should also be an element of love involved, though it doesn't necessarily have to be romantic!
RULES / GUIDELINES.
how can i enter? send me an ask telling me you'd like to participate, so i have a general idea of how many fics to expect. once you publish your fic, tag it with #loveinversewritingchallenge and tag me somewhere on the post! i will read and reblog each fic, and create a masterlist once the challenge is finished. anyone is welcome to enter!
who can i write for? you can write for any mcu character you'd like, as well as the batman (because he's my new obsession lol).
when do i need to finish my fic? the challenge is open beginning today and will officially end on july 31st (i write at a snail's pace myself, so i made sure to give y'all plenty of time). i will create a masterlist after that date with all the fics, BUT you can still enter a piece any time after that! i'll be adding late entries to the masterlist as i receive them.
anything i can't write? anything i'm uncomfortable reading, including: noncon, dubcon, incest, etc. smut is allowed, but it must be explicitly tagged as 18+ (and you, the writer, should also be 18+). if there are any nsfw works, they will be labeled so on the masterlist.
how long does it need to be? there is no minimum or maximum word count, but fics longer than 300 words should include the read more feature!
NOW FOR THE FUN PART!
i am aware that not everyone is a huge fan of poetry, but if you're at all interested in this challenge, i imagine you have some appreciation for the written word. your "poem" doesn't have to be a poem in the traditional sense; it can just be a particularly beautiful quote that resonated with you, a line from your favorite book, song lyrics, etc. no matter what, though, you must link your "poem" in the beginning of your fic. i want to read what inspired y'all!
if you're totally lost, here are three poems i love with all my heart:
"from blossoms" by li-young lee
"filling spice jars as your wife" by kai coggin
"love waltz with fireworks" by kelli russell agodon
and the best site to scroll for poems!
i'm so excited to read what you all come up with <3
