Good Omens fic recs #76

O holy night by squiddz/@heavens-bookshop - A/C, 3500 words.  A lovely soft Christmas get-together fic written after S1, in which Crowley plans a romantic date and tries to go slow.

The Sandford Flower Show by Mussimm - A/C, 46k words.  A deliciously plotty fic written post S1 in which Crowley and Aziraphale are trying to feel out their relationship at the same time that they're encountering another incredibly dangerous angel-demon pair.  The plot is great and the romance is too -- this story is a perfect marriage of the two, with a great Crowley voice. The stakes in this feel really legitimate and high -- it keeps you moving through chapters for the relief at the end.

The Phantom of the Motorways by @lyricwritesprose - OCs gen, 700 words.  A delightful outsider POV -- a cop tells the new PC about the "ghost car" that evades all tickets.

Queen's Most Ineffable Hits by cyankelpie/@the-written-wyrm - A/C, 3200 words.  As Aziraphale and Crowley get closer after S1, Crowley introduces Aziraphale to Queen.  This fic is very sweet and fun, and I loved the use of Queen to help deepen their relationship.

Redacted Files from Earth Observations by Sodium_Azide - A/C, 2900 words.  A wonderfully soft get-together fic written post S1.  Heaven delivers Aziraphale his personnel file -- including those photos from the Earth Observation department. It's wonderful to see Aziraphale and Crowley reclaiming them!

I've been wanting to try out a more masc name in online spaces for a bit, and finally made a decision. So, hi everyone, I'm Miles!

The thing that kills me about the ball so much is that Aziraphale, beautiful and silly as he is, is trying desperately to hold everything together. In many of those scenes, his eyes are almost manic in their intensity and Neil has even said that the reason Aziraphale's miracles weren't working on Maggie and Nina was because he no longer had the spoons.

He's so overextended and he's trying so, so hard to find just a little bit of joy in all the trouble that's landed at his feet. His bowtie is even a bit askew. Despite his obvious stress, he launches straight from a long trip that only raises more questions to immediately spending all his time and energy planning this ball, both to try to get heaven's eyes off their back and to have a romantic moment with Crowley. He was trying his best.

He got halfway down the page before the phone flashed with a notification again. Another message from Crowley. It took all of three seconds for Aziraphale to fold and pick up the phone.

Crowley: so

Crowley: what are you wearing

Aziraphale: What kind of question is that? You know exactly what I'm wearing.
