I'm thinking my friend may be right and I need to go off tumblr for real. No more social media for me. It's been. Draining.

So I'm likely going to either deactivate this blog (because it's attached to a main that I do need to deactivate) or give it to @rat-detector-24 if 24 wants it. Or make a main to attach this to and then throw away the password.

I didn't want to do this. This blog is why I'm here on tumblr for the most part. But I cannot keep myself out of drama. I cannot keep myself from harming myself by intentionally seeking out the drama tags, no matter how well I block them.

So it's probably for the best to hole myself up on Dragon Cave and play my silly lil dragon game and keep up on the news occasionally. You can see me and my dragons here.

Anyways, not sure if this blog will be deleted yet. I might just "archive" it by attaching it to a clean main. Not sure.

Time to nerd out on main

This is a dog with cerebellar hypoplasia! It’s the same thing that happens with the wobbly cats, but it is more rare in dogs. Hypo is a prefix meaning “little” or “under” and Plasia is a suffix meaning “growth”, so this is a condition where the cerebellum is underdeveloped and small.

The cerebellum is important for the coordination and precision of our movements. Essentially, strong nerve signals to control our muscles come into and are processed by the cerebellum. Certain cells there tone down or amplify these signals, and thus coordinate to produce just the right amount of movement. However, in cerebellar hypoplasia, we’re missing a lot of those cells that tone down the movement, causing the nerves to carry out a stronger signal than normal and make our movements overexaggerated. This causes the affected animal to be wobbly when standing still, because we rely on coordinated muscle pushes to stand up straight, and for movements to be all over the place.

This condition does not affect an animal’s ability to live a happy, healthy life, and does not cause pain! You can see that the dog here is having a blast just like any other dog would!
