Space Empress MC was honestly pretty chill all things considered, but what if she was like a "mad empress", hungry for conquest and ended up being imprisoned in a dungeon, but then managed to get back into power due to the female castle staff and empire nobility being loyal to her.
Like, Sylus is just sitting in his office in Khaosi, sipping on tea and a subordinate bursts through the door like "Sir, the empire is attacking" and MC is out there like "Darlingggg, guess who's back from jaillll"
Author's note: I know I said this was gonna be an AppleCrow and SatoSugu x Reader blog but every time Genshin releases anything to do with this man it has me in a chokehold okay. "But you've never even written anything for Sylus/Caleb/Geto/Gojo here before!" I know but I wrote something ok, let me have this
Contents: implied Fem!Reader, no use of Y/N, Reader is a genius like Zandik, Reader is actually worse than Zandik and he loves it, Light yandere! Zandik (he's hella possessive but he can't control Reader so), Dottore-typical unsettling behaviors (experiment-related), Implied murder (Zandik has no chill), Mild sexual content (references to sex, bdsm, human furniture, biting), lmk if I forgot anything
Zandik's love is something extremely rare, something even he surmised might not exist. So imagine his surprise when that warm, addictive feeling finally began to bloom in his chest. In a sense, retrospectively, he deduced it must've been love at first sight. An irresistible force drew him to you since the moment you've met, but it took some time for him to realize what that was. After all, "love" wasn't exactly his first hypothesis.
Zandik is attracted to three key things: ambition, curiosity and, of course, intelligence. Seeing someone like him, someone who wants to push the boundaries of existence and reclaim what the Heavenly Principles took away, is exhilirating. An unrestrained force of nature who puts their personal agenda above the well-being of others—You should, you are so much more than them! Just like he is. To use these meaningless insects as fodder for experiments is more privilege than they deserve.
You don't throw yourself at him, you don't cozy up to him, he wouldn't like someone of that sort. But you do approach him with a sense of understanding. Not an arrogant belief that you know what he's like, but genuine openness to who he is and what his research is about. There is nothing he can say to put you off, you're a fellow quintessential scientist, someone who puts the pursuit of knowledge above ephemeral, meaningless things like morals or ethics. You don't exactly seek out Dottore's company, but when the opportunity presents itself, you are unafraid to talk to him, ask questions—Be it about him or his work.
Dottore loves to talk, you love to listen. He can see in your eyes, focused on him, how you are soaking up every word like a sponge. Not in a reverent way, but like you're taking notes, taking apart his statements and taking what you can from them for your own means. Of course, he loves to hear you talk too, though he is more enthusiastic to be heard than to hear in the beginning. After all, it's a rare opportunity for him to be able to present his work to a willing audience. And you interject with your own thoughts too, so it's not like you're letting him ramble as he pleases. The tips of his ears turn a subtle pinkish hue when you talk, like your voice is intoxicating him. Your cadence, the way you present those delectable thoughts that swirl in that brilliant brain of yours, he could listen to it forever. Over time, you find an easy balance where he can talk as much as he needs and then obsessively hang onto your every word in return.
Zandik is a straightforward man, he doesn't beat around the bush but he's not without class either. The moment his own feelings become apparent to him, he doesn't waste time to announce to you his intention to court you. Like him, you like to know things and so you should know that his actions include the effort to become lovers. For a split second, your eyes widen just a fraction, like you're surprised that he harbors this interest in you or perhaps that he's so forthcoming about it. But it's brief and minor, and then you smile and laugh, a quiet, soft and melodious sound that makes his head spin. You accept his declaration with a mischievous glint in your eye, like you cannot wait to see what he will do to try to win you over. After all, Dottore is so much more than an ordinary suitor. Where someone else might bring you flowers, he brings rusty parts of strange tech he's found. But if you like flowers, he is happy to play that social game with you too.
His segments are a bit of a problem. Dottore is terribly possessive, so much so that even sharing you with himself makes him boil with rage. The differences between the segments are subtle but clear, each of them approaching showing you affection a little differently. In a way, Nahida making him destroy all of the other segments was a blessing in disguise. Now Omega gets to have you all to himself. Whether there's a dozen or one of him, you don't seem to care either way. Good, he would hate having to comfort you if you'd played favorites and he had to explain he got rid of the others. It's much simpler, much more efficient this way. Even alone he can shower you with enough love for all the Dottores.
Zandik is kind of like a cat, he's not particularly happy about being touched, even by you. Not that he dislikes it or anything, rather that he prefers to experience touch on his own terms. But when he does want touch, he is quite greedy for it, pulling you into his chest from behind, burying his nose in the crook of your neck, running his hands down your hips and arms. He relishes the smell of you, the feel of you. He's developed a fondness for dancing, for holding you and swaying with you and gazing into your eyes. He's never had a reason to dance before, but now he finds himself craving it every day. The proximity, the ability to feel you so close and see you move so elegantly. He doesn't have a very high sex drive, so in a way, this is how he satisfies his regular need for intimacy.
Zandik knows you're strong and capable, it's one of the things he loves about you. But that doesn't ease his obsession to be near you, his obsession to have you all to himself. He's more than happy to lend you his underlings for anything you might need. Be it to run errands for you, be used as cannon fodder or even as guinea pigs for your experiments. But even so, when he sees those worms gawking at you, practically drooling over you, their eyes drinking in your beauty which should be his and his alone. Sometimes, he kills them before he can stop himself, cutting them down mid-conversation just to make them stop from laying their filthy eyes on you. And when he does that, you're not shocked or horrified, you just laugh and tease him for being jealous. But he doesn't deny it, doesn't shy away from your jests. Instead, he verbalizes his frustration, explains to you passionately how these pathetic little nobodies don't deserve you. He alone is deserving, because he sees you for all that you are, from your beauty to your genius, only he understands you and only he can truly appreciate you. And you deserve no less than to be appreciated like that. So anyone who taints that has to die, the sooner the better.
Dottore thinks you might actually be more cruel than him. But that doesn't insult him or scare him, it excites him. You have even less restraint that he does, someone so deeply cut off from yearning for connection, someone so casual about every death and misfortune you bring unto others. He envies it, in a way, the mercilessness you have for what you don't care for. He's never seen you angry or disdained, just... Disinterested. And sometimes he asks you to turn that gaze against him, to give him a taste of what it's like to be treated as less than dirt by someone as exquisite as you. He's always been superior to others, so be able to wholeheartedly be beneath someone, to agree that he is less than them—It's exhilirating for him. You find his yearning for your abuse to be pathetic, but you oblige him. You manhandle him, you hit him and spit on him, you step on him and use him as a chair or a table. To have so many thoughts and so much information in his brain all the time can be a little overwhelming, so relinquishing them for moments of complete submission to you is a great way for Zandik to relax.
Zandik's needs for intimacy are anything but common. He craves debate, exchange of information and presence, the most. To talk with you, discuss and explore complex topics, argue theories. At the same time, he loves having you around for his experiments or be around for yours, cooperate with you on projects. Despite how much you talk to each other, or perhaps precisely because of it, your shared work is practically wordless, like you can read each other's minds on what should be done next. Only results and hypotheses are discussed, the technicalities come naturally through comfortable silence. He's not particularly fond of touch, but he likes some brief, soft displays of it. Simple embraces, light lip locks, quick brushes of hands. But once in a while, something in him snaps. And suddenly, his body is consumed by a raging inferno and he needs you. Needs you close, needs to exchange every bodily fluid with you that you will allow. Needs to bite and be bitten in turn. He's quite aggressive when he gets like this, but he expects, wants, to be handled roughly back. Normally, he'd consider it beneath him to get tossed around by his base desires like this. But with you, it seems natural that he simply cannot resist you sometimes, that he craves you like his lungs crave air.
Zandik has never thought himself afraid of things like death or loneliness. But after meeting you, falling for you, being with you, loving you, marrying you... He finds himself disturbed by the idea that this will someday end. That he won't be able to have another lovely conversation with you, be it because of his demise or yours. You have filled his heart, one he surmised was quite empty and purely technical in its use, a blood-pump, with irrational feelings. Persistent, all-consuming, irrational feelings. He thinks he should be mad, mad at himself for being susceptible to such illogical functions. But he's not. That foreign sense of dread, anxiety, a desire for something truly unattainable and uncertain, enriches him in a way he's never thought possible. You and his feelings for you are the ultimate variable, an unpredictable force in his life that never fails to interest him, enchant him, enchain him in your grasp. If there is a person in the entirety of Teyvat and all worlds beyond that could control him on a whim, make him feel terrible in ways he never thought possible—Let it be you.
I made this blog to hold myself accountable and try to write fanfics and finish them. And to keep myself focused I said to me "Let's keep it AppleCrow and SatoSuguru, those are my huge faves. That way I can keep it simple and streamlined."
And what my brain do? Let's think of shit for Dottore and Naoya, yeahhhh
Answering the other anon that wanted a male Main Character for Silent Whispers, as I would want one as an option as well, the game is made in China where same-sex isn't illegal but very frowned upon by the government and there are tight restrictions with same sex portrayals in media. That, and the genre of otome is specifically made with female main characters. So it is very unlikely that you get to play as a male MC. But this company as also made Life Makeover where the MC is a woman but the game has enough customizations that can make your character look male. I do not know if they will allow the same in this game because it is romance but there might be a possibility you can do this.
Anon who treated my inbox like I'm a Silent Whispers developer looking for feedback, come get your info
So I typed out a decent amount of a somewhat-headcanon-format fanfic, but after getting to a part regarding some specifics about the Reader insert character, as well as contemplating the inclusion and extensiveness of some sexual content, my mind just... Completely shut down. It's a common problem I get when writing, I get an idea, I write out a solid chunk of cohesive storytelling but then I just feel like the Reader insert character becomes too personal or I start to wonder if including sexual content is something I actually want and find fitting for the piece or if it's something I feel like should be there, because of how common smutty content is. It's like my brain wipes the whole fic from my brain, even though I've written about it. If anyone has any advice on this kind of problem they would be willing to share, it'd be greatly appreciated, thank you!
Dosen’t Love & Deepspace have incest? It’s not much better than Silent Whispers.
What’s the point of the character customization in LADS if the cards always go back to the default look for the MC?
Might as well play the Sims instead.
I'm not going to assume what this ask stems from, but I will clarify that the incest in question is a forbidden love trope between characters who have been in love since childhood and happened to get adopted by the same person—who is also an elderly woman, rather than someone the age of a direct parent. As such, they don't really have a typical sibling dynamic since their adoptive grandmother doesn't treat them like siblings. They are primarily childhood friends.
The only cards that use the default look of the MC are 4 star cards (which feature only still images instead of full animations) and even so they hide her face and appear briefly during the actual story section. All the main story cutscenes and animated five star cards use your custom-made MC. The Home feature also uses your custom-made MC (very Sims coded game mode). If you interact with the characters on the homescreen, when MC reaches out her hand, it matches the skintone you chose for her.
The devs definitely forget about their dark skinned playerbase and some (not all!) of the event minigames feature a generic MC chibi model, but there is a lot of opportunities to admire your custom MC, including the extensive photo mode which includes poses and animations where you can even film videos.
Love and Deepspace isn't a perfect game by any means, but as someone who hates incest as much as a well-adjusted person should, I am unbothered by the adoptive/childhood friends dynamic. And I frankly would not even play the game if it didn't have a customizable MC you actually get to see—That was what got me to start the game and only because the feature was worthwhile did I continue into it long enough to become interested in the rest of it.
Silent Whispers should have a male mc option. I’m a woman who wants to play as a man.
I respect your sentiment and hope you and others who harbor it will receive a satisfying feature like that someday.
Personally, I am not fond of the idea, but it's up to Silent Whispers and its fans to decide what kind of game it will be and I imagine it might just not be for me.
If you pre-register for Silent Whispers you get a to fill out a feedback form that asks your opinion on the designs and a chance to offer more ideas. If enough people let them know they want more original designs, they could potentially change them.
Oh, that's a very interesting piece of information, actually! Thank you for sharing this.
Though I worry most people either won't care or the devs will not want to risk alienating players by introducing something "too new". I think the "familiarity" that comes with immitating aspects of existing characters is caused primarily by two things; They want to invoke the image of a specific beloved character because they're basically telling you "If you play our game instead of Love and Deepspace, you don't have to give up on your fave, because we have Sylus at home, so you're basically choosing Sylus but with more features". And by having characters with recognizable appearances or storylines, they're soothing the anxiety of anyone who might be afraid of new things—"Yes, we're a new game, but you already know these characters in some way", it's also related to archetyping.
But the most egregious one is definitely the lanky Sylus clone, and if they changed the hair swoosh and the facial features, the ick would be alleviated considerably, cause white haired characters are just generic enough you can't say anything about that. So fingers crossed maybe that could be a feedback that echoes back somehow.
Silent Whispers has entered my radar at last and... Urgh, like, I appreciate some of the promised feature innovation, like open-world (not my thing at all, but I acknowledge it's generally a well-liked game concept, so I can only shit on it from a strictly personal perspective) and "choices that actually matter" (Dispatch said they would and look how that turned out), but the character design gives me such a massive ick. Like. Wowwww a Sylus clone, a guy who struggles with ice powers and a brown man in chains that also has a bestial demeanor. Why are game devs so afraid of experimenting with character designs, this barely-avoids-lawsuit cookie cutter design approach is lame, embarrassing and frankly too common.
But hey, if the game gets successful enough to be Lads' competitor, that'd definitely be a positive development. Maybe I'll even enjoy it, but so far that has never alleviated the design ick situation.
