i just want to say happy pride month to all the lgbt people who aren’t here anymore. who didn’t make it to this june.

happy pride month to all the lgbt people who were victims of homophobic/transphobic violence, who had their lives taken from them by people who saw them as inferior for who they loved or their gender identity

to everyone who was going through some tough shit and couldn’t hold on anymore, who saw suicide as the only option, who was so desperate for an escape that they took their own life

to all the lgbt people who died of aids, because the government didn’t care enough to do anything about the millions of gay people who were dying right under their noses

and finally, to all of us who are still here. all of us who are open and proud of who we are every day despite living in a world that tells us we don’t have the right to exist. all of us who are closeted, because the world is unsafe. all of us who fight every day for those we’ve lost and those who have yet to be found. every single one of us.
