Sept 7 / Late Arrival / Loras, Robb & Theon
His friend was hanging around back, eying the two of them, but Loras kept his gaze focused completely on the bloke who had run into him. Break eye contact and you lose the battle of intimidation— first lesson he’d learned from one of his footie mates.
This was not exactly how Robb had envisioned this evening. The tension between Theon and his new "friend" seemed to grow at an exponential rate. Neither seemed to lose each other from their sight nor did either seem to want to budge any time soon.Â
Robb knew Theon would never apologize first, he could even sense his signature smirk making its way along with a comeback that would surely earn him a new black eye for his "collection". Â
Robb rubbed his forehead and let out a deep sigh, knowing he'd have to intervene at some point. As he ran his fingers through his hair, he remembered he felt both mentally and physically exhausted and was not really in the mood for a party...or this, even though he expected it might happen.
Hanging out with Theon was always fun, sometimes a pain, but not always. His mother's good old words of wisdom regarding him seemed to make their way through Robb's thoughts in moments such as these. Considering the time and place though, Robb decided it was best to mute them till tomorrow, maybe.Â
With that in mind and hoping to avoid yet another unpleasant evening for Theon, Robb approached him and clasped his shoulder hard enough to get his attention. Probably used to Robb's interventions, Theon had barely flinched but was clearly amused; a certain type of reply was imminent on his part. Â
"Might want to let it go this time, don't you think?" he whispered in Theon's ear close enough for only him to hear, squeezing his shoulder even tighter. Robb looked over to their one man audience and politely smiled at him, hoping to ease the tension if only for a moment.
