despite the lord’s great love for all his siblings, he recognizes that their quirks and personalities can offer difficulties to anyone, really. thus, his work can be quite extensive; if only for the sake of his family. yet it is somewhat amusing that hermes and hades simply talk like regular gods with formality ‘pon them instead of something warmer, something he doesn’t ponder too deeply in.

he is not the warmest but he at least knows when to loosen up around certain people.

The smile adorning his features twitches minutely, if only for a brief moment—such a hope is merely that, a hope, but he dare not say so aloud. It isn’t as if he minds too much, anyway. His Lord Father is simply...energetic.

“Nothing I can’t handle, my lord.” Is his answer, despite it’s lending itself to sound as if it’s a deflection. “Lord Zeus sends his regards, however. He was quite insistent I let you know.”

A chuckle follows from him, genuine amusement colouring it bright; as far as Hermes is aware, in comparison to he and his Lord Uncle, it’s been even longer since the two brothers met. It isn’t his place to ask either about why, and far less is he inclined to, but he knows his Lord Father cares and worries for his eldest brother despite. Time is simply too plentiful for the divine—it escapes them too easily. One century apart turns to three, and suddenly, even a millennia has passed (and yet even that is a short amount of time).

“That’s quite the relief to hear, as well,” he continues on, casting a glance to their surroundings before he settles his gaze back. “I imagine there are few who dare to disturb the peace of Helheim, what-with you at its helm.”

To call what goes down in the Underworld peace is a bluff at best, considering there are pockets of it in which peace is nothing but a dream, but even still, the realm isn’t as bad as it could be. It isn’t as bad as Hermes knows it could be.

Of course, this is as far as he currently knows of it. He is facing the deity who once handled an uprising of the realm all by himself, refusing to allow any other god to know about it until the deed was done and he was discovered, after all; for however many secrets Hermes has a penchant for keeping, they are but half as many as he believes Lord Hades holds close.

his sweet persephone is an exception—he did vow to be more open with her after all. nonetheless, his lips quirk into an amused smile; hermes himself had so many secrets and methods to gain information. simply intriguing at best.

his tone meant no harm, it was simply a fact. he adores his brother despite his penchant for being grumpy and carrying disdain towards anything breathing within his general direction.
