One of the good things about a character like Superman's Pal Jimmy Olsen is that he doesn't lend himself to traditional hero pose sketches, so any time I draw a commission I get to just come up with an untold Jimmy story and then illustrate it!

Hey infinite scrollers! Do you like webcomics? Do you want a new one?
Things Are Afoot! is coming to Webtoon and Tapas!
I’m going to be reuploading the comic in chunks. Right now, chapter 1 is available in full, and a new episode will be uploaded every Thursday until the webtoon catches up with where the story currently is! As always, TAA! will also be available for free in full on viewfindercomics.com, for new readers who want to skip ahead.
Wonder Woman Historia: The Amazons - Absolute Edition by Kelly Sue DeConnick, Phil Jimenez, Gene Ha and Nicola Scott. Out in July 2026.
"From writer Kelly Sue DeConnick and artists Phil Jimenez, Gene Ha, and Nicola Scott comes an epic tale of goddesses, gods, rebellion, and retribution.
Millennia ago, the goddesses of Olympus aired their grievances about the faults of man to Zeus, king of gods. When their petitions were ignored, they gathered in secret to create the Amazons: six warrior tribes born from the souls of women who had endured violence. Under the cover of night, the Amazons successfully brought justice against those who harmed women and increased their ranks with those they rescued, leading to the creation of a seventh tribe. But with great victory also came spite from the male gods, and a war the likes of which neither heaven nor earth had seen before.
This is the story of Hippolyta, a slave who became a warrior, a warrior who became a queen, and a queen who became a mother to one of Earth’s greatest champions. Wonder Woman Historia: The Amazons: Absolute Edition presents the multiple Eisner-winning miniseries in oversize format with a collectible slipcase, a behind-the-scenes look at how this masterpiece was created, and more."

A couple of days ago, here in the war-torn battlefields of Portland, Oregon, my studiomate Leila del Duca asked some of the artists at @helioscopepdx "what do you love about comics?"

The Queen of the Sea graphic novel by Dylan Meconis was absolutely delightful. One of my favorites in a long time. The art of the covent, Margaret the orphan, the proud and unyielding Queen Elenor, the details about their mundane life on that rocky little isle... I could read their story forever. It really plucked that thread inside about the growing out of a childhood ignorance and opening a window into political machinations you love to see in historical fiction.

This is a column that focuses on something or some things from the comic book sphere of influence that may not get the credit and recognition it deserves. Whether that’s a list of comic book movies, ongoing comics, or a set of stories featuring a certain character. The columns may take the form of a bullet pointed list, or a slightly longer thinkpiece – there’s really no formula for this other…
